MsAligned Posted December 15 Posted December 15 Thought there was a patch to prevent Barrier Reef from being used at low levels, even a Defender cannot get Barrier Reef until level 22, should not see that being used in a Positron TF.
Rudra Posted December 15 Posted December 15 If you are referring to Positron part 1, then it doesn't matter. Our doppelgangers get full access to our primary and secondary sets regardless of level. If you find Barrier Reef upsetting, don't let MMs or Crab Spiders on your team for the TF or you'll have a really bad day.
brass_eagle Posted December 16 Posted December 16 I will say, I'm not sure what patch you are referring to. Your phrasing is a bit vague there. The --Doppleganger-- code will include any powers it is coded for. I know that doesn't help. But it has been the case with other sets and their penultimate tier powers as well. The strength of the Marine Set (while warranted don't get me wrong) just makes fighting your darker side that much harder.
Kai Moon Posted Monday at 06:10 PM Posted Monday at 06:10 PM Another example, Elec Affinity gets its tier 9. Annoying. Fortunately, the tier 9 isn't very good. So it's not just Marine Affinity, it's the overall approach to the feature. Not saying "not a defect", though. It contradicts and undermines the story. They have powers I can't have, so I don't buy Rollister's dialogue that they're copies. They're more like the Flawed Clone with random powersets from Dean MacArthur's arc. Amusing, in an "I wonder what powers it has" kind of way. Not what the writer intended, but that's where I'm at.

It's an artifact of the game having to cheat to be competitive -- the AI can't realistically be smart enough to imitate a player intelligently using their abilities, so the game compensates by giving them access to the powersets' full range of abilities, albeit throttled back in power somewhat. 1
