I have an SS/Invuln brute who has chosen Resilient for his alpha incarnate power.  He is at tier 3 with Resilient Partial Radial Revemp.  It boosts Resistance by 20%, Immob and Stun by 33%, and ToHit by 10%.  If he brings it to tier 4 (Resilient Radial Paragon), it will bring ToHit to 20% and add a 33% Absorb buff.  He has no healing powers with a specifically Absorb component (Dull Pail does a heal and then raises max Health for 2 minutes).  So I doubt that the Absorb component will help at all.  I decided to ask here about it to make sure.

Correct, the Absorb component doesn't do anything. Alphas only enhance your existing powers, they don't give you new stats in a category (i.e. a character with no defense powers won't gain any defense from a defense-based Alpha power).

Dull Pain's max HP would only be enhanced by a healing Alpha like Vigor or Spiritual (but Spiritual's recharge messes with proc rates, if you're loaded up with them).

The Alpha slot acts like a custom enhancement slotted in every one of your powers, but if none of your powers can be slotted for a particular aspect of the incarnate boost, that aspect won't do you any good.

They really should change all the Alpha absorb abilities and heal abilities into heal/absorb abilities. Absorb is pretty niche. I may be miscounting, but I think there are only 6 powers in the game that use it (Ablative Carapace, Particle Shielding, Insulating Circuit, Barrier Reef, Wild Bastion and Spirit Ward), not counting 5 blaster sustain powers.

It's especially weird because normal healing enhancements also some bundled with absorption, so the way alphas are set up creates an inconsistency/confusion point.

There are a few Sentinel unique absorb powers to add to that list (Regen, Invuln, SR, and Ice armors all have one), but otherwise yeah it's pretty uncommon.
