Hew Posted Tuesday at 01:55 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:55 PM I have done ice defense to cap before. Currently though I am 15 (yay) and have two fundamental issues/questions... Basically I believe I suck until energy absorption and generic so level ios? Correct? Second, when slotting wet ice, do i slot _defense_ or _resist_ in increase the def debuff value. It says "+res def debuf" which implies to me that _resist_ slotting is what makes def debuff go up? Yay? Nay? Lastly, I forgot the enormous hole that is fire def, only slightly supported by some fire res. 😐 😐 😐
SeraphimKensai Posted Tuesday at 03:47 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:47 PM Wet ice you can only slot with either end redux or recharge redux. People typically universally slot it with 1 generic end redux IO.

SeraphimKensai Posted Tuesday at 04:15 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:15 PM Just now, Hew said: Even def/end/(whatever) hamios? Last I checked you can shove those where set items and other bits dont belong... You're more than welcome to try, but bring an unslotter with you and a lvl 50 generic end redux for afterwards.

You can slot them, but the defense enhancement won't work. This exploit was fixed way back on live. Also, the defense debuff resistance (DDR) in Wet Ice is flagged to ignore enhancements, so even if you could slot defense, the DDR wouldn't increase. Outside of Super Reflexes, the only power in the game which allows DDR to be enhanced is Shield/Battle Agility. (Shield/Active Defense can be stacked but not enhanced.) 1 Uuniverse
Hero Star Posted Tuesday at 08:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:11 PM Energy Absorption is nice in that you gain most of the benefit (about 6% defense) with just one foe, but you only gain about an additional 2-3% for having 10 foes in range. At least with my build. The defense is still helpful, but equally beneficial is the +End. I don't really get why Wet Ice even has defense. Its only +1% defense. Can anyone tell me why they even bothered? For me, the defining features of Ice Armor are: - 100% resistance to slow - Hoarfrost (easy to hit max HP) - Chilling Embrace (reduces damage by 15% and prevents runners) - Icy Bastion (can increase resistances to all but Psi by 60%, potentially up close to half the time) At the end of the day against to hardest content, Ice Armor on scrapper to me is a resistance set with Icy Bastion. Ice Armor does not have enough Defense Debuff Resistance to prevent cascade failure. I also highly recommend getting 75% psionic resistance from set bonuses, Defense amplifier, base buff, etc.

Hew Posted Tuesday at 11:14 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:14 PM Mmm, I thought a different power was mentioned in that block. Sorry, didn't notice it was also referring to the original power in question.
