Marine X Posted Wednesday at 10:28 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:28 AM Just thinking it might be a neat Power Pool to be able to take Tech from Enemy Groups or even Allies, and rework it to serve you. Such things, off the top of my head include: Rikti Drones Longbow Web grenade Longbow EMP Grenade Sky Raider Sheild Generators Clockwork Tesla Knights Nemesis Triage Crey Medic Hypo Circle of Thorns Crystals Praetorian Clockwork Repair Bot Wouldn't want to get too carried away on Offensive pets but more on the Buff or Heal type gear. Mostly tech that could be reprogrammed or repurposed to serve you, much like Lore Pets but not as powerful. It would be similar to Gadgetry but Salvaged Tech rather than created. Any Thoughts? PoptartsNinja Posted Wednesday at 01:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:55 PM While I think this idea is interesting, I think it bumps into a few hurdles and is probably better represented by adding more temp powers. That said: If they wanted to add a summon Rikti drone temp (or do my old Rikti VEAT suggestion), that'd be cool. Anyway, more to hand, it sounds like you want a power pool that 'steals' a power from each enemy group. So, what I'm reading is, you're wanting a pool that would look something like this: - T1) Scavenge Attack - T1) Scavenge Debuff - T2) Scavenge AoE or Control - T2) Scavenge Buff - T3) Scavenge Pet Where basically you use the power on a downed enemy to steal a thing from them? Which is neat, in theory, but in practice I think it'd be messy and cumbersome and probably overpowered. Most enemy buffs are identical to primary sets, and pools are intended to be weaker than primary sets. The idea raises a lot of technical questions, like: - What happens if you try to scavenge a buff from an enemy group that doesn't have any buffs? Does the power just fizzle? - What happens if you scavenge a buff from an enemy group that only has a "toggle" buff, like the low level CoT's dispersion bubble? Does it just stay active until you click the toggle again, or do you get the NPC version where it lasts for X seconds? - How do you slot it? Does Scavenge Buff take every possible buff set (Damage Resist, Defense, ToHit, etc) and does Scavenge Attack take every possible single target effect (Single target melee, single target ranged, Defense Debuff, ToHit Debuff, etc)? Or can you only slot these for endurance and recharge? Etc, etc. I think this idea is better represented by temp powers, and I fully support adding more fun temp powers to the game. 2

How about this: START vendors sell you 30 charges of Scavenger Tool Kit-Tech (more on that in a sec). While you still hold even one charge, you gain an ability to target fallen enemy tech (before it disappears) to search for usable parts. You're given a percentage chance of finding such. If you find such (with another chance of finding more than one), it goes into a special salvage tab. When you've salvaged X amount (let's say 5 components), you can then use a charge of Scavenger Took Kit-Tech to build a device to either support or fight alongside of you for a specific period of time. This form of salvage would likely need to be soul-bound. Perhaps set different salvage component amounts to build bigger constructs. Personally, I'd find it hilarious to stun and drop a Freak tank, then go happily rummaging through his cybernetic components for what parts I need. "Ah, perfect! You don't need this do you? Didn't think so." As this requires some effort to construct a pet, it might be seen as a "poor man's" Signature Summons. Not sure what the pricing difference at START might be, though. Also, I described it as Scavenger Took Kit-Tech, because I suspect the same concept could be used with a magic design as well. Extract magical essences with Scavenger Tool Kit-Magic from Circle of Thorns, Carnival, etc. to create magical constructs to aid you. 1

Going this route may allow Homecoming to use an already available chunk of programming, Base Salvage, which is currently disabled, but it could be repurposed for the Salvage Kit. The Tabs and graphics are all still in the code, and all it would require is to work out the award process and recipes. " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." Marine X Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago In looking through the Wiki I came upon this information regarding Crafted Temp powers. Seems it already exists in a fashion, but could be expanded upon to add more items. Specific Inventions Main Article: Invention Origin Enhancements The core of the Invention System is the creation of Invention Origin Enhancements. Costume Pieces Main Article: Invention Made Costumes A number of animated costume pieces can be created with the system, including various kinds of wings and special boots. Temporary Powers Main Article: Invention Temporary Powers There are a number of temporary powers craftable with the inventions system from recipes. Temporary powers may also be crafted from Empowerment Stations in bases. Inspirations There are currently no Inspirations that can be crafted. Base Items Main Article: Crafted Base Items As of Issue 13, crafted base items require Invention Salvage to create, rather than components made from base salvage. Base salvage no longer drops, but can be converted into invention salvage via brain storms. " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..."
