Which Archetype is best for Energy Melee / Electric Armor?

Having trouble deciding what the best archetype works best with this combination. I'm leaning towards brute, but:

 

Brute seems to be the best all-rounder of resists + DPS--

Tanker seems to have slightly better resists than the brute, but has the lowest DPS numbers per the minmax pylon thread--

Stalker has the best solo DPS numbers per the minmax pylon thread, but obviously squishy--

Scrapper also does decent solo damage, but similarly squishy.

 

Thoughts?

I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to builds, this is all based on reading on the forums, mostly from @Hyperstrike and @Infinitum.

Any help is appreciated!

Brutes and tanks get a 90% resist cap while scrappers and stalkers get 75%. For resist-based armors like Electric you'll get better results with brutes and tanks. Tanks have an easier time hitting the resist cap, but it can be done on brutes as well. Note, Electric has no Tx resists and limited Ne resists, so you're have to address those elsewhere.

 

Brutes have superior ST damage than tanks. Tanks are superior to brutes in AoE damage due to the arc, radius and target cap buffs they get from Gauntlet. That said, Energy Melee is primarily a ST set and only has 1 PBAoE attack and 1 cone attack.

IMO a Scrapper or Stalker could still do just fine as long as you lean into other means of stackable mitigation (like Shadow Meld). However if you swapped the Defensive set to Energy Aura instead then the dynamic would change drastically; and not just because Tankers don't get that set... 😄

Stalker is my choice. I have an /EleA Stalker and she does very well and I hear that EM is absolutely beastly...and Imma 'bout to try it.
