I set them for the map as the default Custom Group. I go to set a "Fight A Boss" and want to choose one of the bosses within FOE BADGUYS. FOE BADGUYS does not appear on my drop-down menu, but other groups I've made in the past do. What's (not) going on here? Police Woman Posted Sunday at 03:00 PM Posted Sunday at 03:00 PM I've noticed this too. It does not seem like you can select a renamed/recolored standard character from a custom group as a boss. On my "Efficiency Council" arc, when I wanted to reuse a Council boss I had to select a "Council" Vortex Cor Leonis Archon as a boss and apply the customizations directly to that objective (renaming the boss and its group).

New Life Hack for Using the Janky MA Did you create a group of foes using recolored pre-existing foes, and you want to want to use of them for a Fight a Boss detail? The group will not show up on the Custim Group list until you add ONE Custom foe into the group and set that foe for Don't Auto-Spawn. ETA: but wait it gets better! You still have to recreate that boss again as described above! Oh how I love this system! ETA2: More! After going through all that, I found that the mission wouldn't start until I removed that Don't Auto-Spawn foe. So you have to just recreate the boss each time. What kind of cockamamie system is this?! Who cares?! No one will ever fix this. Defeat All Snakes Posted yesterday at 02:52 AM Posted yesterday at 02:52 AM Unless I'm misreading your situation, rest assured that this is a very confusing issue that everyone runs into sooner or later. It might be one of the most-asked questions regarding the AE besides "how make farm?" Here's what I wrote the last time you ran into it: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/43141-problem-with-custom-group-selection/#findComment-560779 Quote If the group consists only of standard enemies you've renamed, it won't be visible if you're trying to set it as like a boss or rescue, anything where you have to select an individual actor once you've chosen the group. It should still be visible for things that only want a defined group , such as ambushes or "surrounding enemy group" etc. What you'd have to do to set up, say, a boss encounter, is find the original enemy type in the standard list, set it as the boss with a custom name, and then set your custom group as the minions. That's what I'm assuming's happened from what you're saying. Basically, the AE has a very rigid stance on custom enemies and standard enemies. It won't "see" standard enemies in custom groups for the purposes of individual critter selections, and so if there's nothing but standard enemies in a group, it just never shows the group. Why does it do this? Our feeble science has no answer. 1

Defeat All Snakes Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I promise, it's not a condemnation. We poor, mad fools who tinker blindly with Satan's Engine are all in it together as far as I'm concerned. I just couldn't help but see the funny side thinking "I know I had an answer to this written out, where was it?" and then finding out.
