mistagoat Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I did a Posi 1 last night on a low level Electric/Electric Sentinel. At the end, my clone had Lightning Field active. For Sentinels that is a power in an epic pool that I can't select until level 41 at the earliest. Another poster suggested that it may be using Electric Armor from another AT. SPOON!
Captain Fabulous Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Yeah, it happens. The Posi 1 clones aren't always a 1:1 copy of you. My guess is that the code was never updated to include newer sets and ATs. 1 1

Did you have the power and were exemplared down, so it wasn't available to you? If you had it, that could explain why the doppelganger had it. They aren't limited by level considerations like we are. This is seen routinely where the Posi' 1 doppelgangers have access to all powers in the chosen character's sets despite their level. Like Crab Spider doppelgangers summoning their bots in that mission.

Doomguide2005 Posted Wednesday at 06:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:45 PM Was it a +0 Doppleganger. Right there consider what happens if the Doppleganger is "higher" level than you. Even at +1 with a 16th level doppleganger it's going to have power choices you don't even if strictly limited to powers you might have at that level.

But would still be drawing from the AT's power sets. The complaint is that the doppelganger was pulling powers that weren't available to the character in either primary or secondary set at any level. (Edit: And it shouldn't be drawing from epic sets as described since the character being copied didn't have an epic set selected to use as reference. Unless the doppelgangers pull from random epics if the reference character does not have one for some reason.) Edited Wednesday at 08:32 PM by Rudra

I get that, I've also seen this (or similar) comment in other threads. To me they all carry an undercurrent of expectation that the dopple will be a true doppleganger and match powers. To me they all carry an undercurrent of expectation that the dopple will be a true doppleganger and match powers. Granted this case sounds pretty far out but ... It's already a given that the doppelgangers don't care about level requirements in having powers from the character's primary and secondary sets, or even selection restrictions such as Crab Spider SoAs only getting one of the two Venom Grenade powers whereas the doppelganger gets both. This has been demonstrated multiple times by MMs and SoAs going through the Posi' TF and other instances where players have to face their doppelgangers. Even before the power level requirements were lowered, MMs in a Posi' 1 would face their counterparts already having all 6 pets. And Crab Spiders would face counterparts that were fielding the Spiderlings and Arachnobot Disruptors. Or times when the doppelganger would fire back to back Venom Grenades. That is why in my first post, I pointed out that the doppelgangers are not limited to level considerations like we are.
Doomguide2005 Posted Wednesday at 08:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:48 PM Yes, none of which changes the way I perceive the undercurrent of expectation ... but *shrug* maybe it's a me problem.
BasiliskXVIII Posted Wednesday at 08:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:48 PM The Doppelgangers are essentially the same as creating a custom enemy type in AE with your primary and secondary. The Sentinel armour sets aren't there, so they draw from the standard armour sets used by Scrappers, Brutes, and Tankers. I'm pretty sure Stalkers are the same way-they get a kind of Hide as an inherent, but their primary and secondary is still the tank/scrapper/brute version, rather than the one for stalkers that gets shuffled and gets powers removed to accomodate hide/placate/AS. 1 1 1
