I find shoji wall lamp to be the best non-ugly item for lighting text on walls, and floor torch is the best item I have found for creating light in general.

I tried all the items in the lighting section, but is there any I should give another try?  Any really good lighting items?

By "really good", do you mean "the brighter, the better", or something else?

Anything you have found useful.  I found the floor torch to be the best light in all 3 situations where I tested every item in the lighting category, but different areas light differently.  Also, the small shoji wall lamp seems to light walls very well.

Well, I feel this weekend like I'm giving away all my hard-earned secrets before I submit my contest base (LOL), but I've found that Floor Lamp and Large Floor Lamp make nice looking sconce lights and highlight letters pretty well if you're into soft lighting of the kind fancy restaurants like to use at night.

The trick is to hide the rest of the light, especially the base, in the wall, which is sometimes easier said than done.  I've learned to subtly angle the light foreword in conditions where the base gets annoying otherwise.  Angling also needs to be done at times because apparently, whomever constructed these two put the trigger to display light towards the back near the stem of the light.  Items a bit thicker than a normal wall might cover this spot.  A slight angle does not disfigure the "sconce" and should bring the "trigger" out where it is useful.  The Large Floor Lamp puts out more lumens than the standard version, though it's not going to be a beacon in the night.

The letter color might make a difference as well.  Here I've found a yellow that in the soft light of a standard floor lamp simulates brushed gold or brass.

The flood lights are very useful because they project a light source away from the visual element, letting you hide it and still position the light easily. There's a yellow star showing you where the light actually is even after you bury it. You can also grab it with the cursor.
