BUGGED FARM 19823

Since the Farm Nerf months ago, map 19823 has been bugged. At RANDOM (yet in consistent spots at times), mobs DO NOT MISS and just pile on damage.

I have run this map for about 4 years or so: I have been the SAME Tier 3 Brute (soft-capped to Fire and AOE damage, and such) "Pre" and "Post" the Farm Nerf.

Mobs' "hit-streak" mechanics needs to be examined.

Currenlty, when I recognize the mobs' "cycle" of melting my brute, I mitigate by:

1) Having to cycle through two Healing Flames, while intermittently popping green inspirations, then (if needed) I have to flee mobs' line of sight.

2) Also randomly (mind you I am already soft-capped) when I pop "extra" defense inspirations I can still be shredded easily.

This has been the pattern since the "great" Farm Nerf.

Thank you.

Okay, so the first thing you need to know is that the AE missions are made by players and only the player who made it can fix it. In this case, the player is Big Gotter. I have not seen him around for quite some time. His farms have been out of date since Page 5 was released, so I wouldn't expect a fix.

Now, when you are searching AE for missions or farms, the search box is a really nice thing. For one, you can search by player name, such as Brigg or Big Gotter, and it will return anything they made. You can also use partial strings. So if you want a Road Tunnel map that is Page 5 friendly, try searching for: Road Tunnel Page 5, and a few things should show up. Any farm made in the last two years should work fine, so looking for newer Road Tunnel maps can work too.

Did you make sure you’re using a map that doesn’t have Fire Swords?

Is this AFK farming or active farming? If AFK you need a little more mitigation than you used to for the same results.

If you address these two issues though farming is not any harder than it used to be.

It aint broke, no need to fix it. I still run my farm maps almost daily and have no issues. The defense debuff added to fire sword years ago (not by me) did cause quite a stir to many players whose build was not up to par. Removing fire sword from the farm would just lower the xp/influence. Nobody wants that. Making other changes by adding a ranged attack would just cause Big Mobs to not be big mobs. We don't want that. So, the other thing to do Is simply adapt. Learn what's causing the issue and overcome it. The debuff from getting hit by fire sword was causing my defense to drop. If you set your combat attributes up like mine, "Influence" "Fire Resistance" Smashing Resistance" "lethal Resistance" "Fire Defense" "Smashing Defense" "Lethal Defense" "Damage Bonus", you will be able to see if you are being debuffed. The thing to know is what amount of extra defense you need for your build to survive each mob you plan to kill. If your build won't let you add more defense, then consider carrying a tray of Good Luck inspirations. Also visit the S.T.A.R.T vendor and set inspiration drops to receive only defense inspirations. Remember to use the inspiration BEFORE attacking a mob. Don't wait till you've been debuffed. Anything you can do to boost your defense is key. Kinetic Damper and the Amplifiers from the S.T.A.R.T vendor will also help. "If They can't hit you, they can't debuff you" Typically, running solo on my Spine/Fire Brute, I only need to pop one "Good Luck" inspiration before rounding up 3-4 mobs, and I am able to defeat them before the inspiration wears off. This works so good that I can solo farm the same maps with my Kin/Fire Defender,"Extreme Fiarrhea" and put most brutes to shame. "Theres No Stopping Fiarrhea".  Hope this helps a little, feel free to message me in game if you need assistance @Big Gotter      "I like Big Mobs And I Can Not Lie"

Lol, no, keeping fire swords and popping purples and spamming Healing Flames is not the way to do it. Your AFK build should be surviving everything without heals no sweat. Your active farming build should be easily surviving still with just the occasional heal. In both cases there is zero reason to carry anything but reds if you know what you’re doing. No serious farmer is popping purples. Find another map, OP. Happy to answer any questions.

@BigGotter When you leave the swords in do you take into consideration the amount of time used to mitigate the incoming attacks? Crafting mobs to be all 100% is a waste of time. Having EBs in a map are also a waste of time.

The metric we should be considering here is the time needed to clear mobs. Mobs that debuff simply take longer to clear and that has a serious impact on DPS.
