Boas Posted Wednesday at 05:16 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:16 PM I can't be the only person who thinks having a second aura slot would be great for character customization. Cryogenic fog sheeting off your ice/cold corruptor, while supercooled slush drips from one arm? Rocky crumble and flaming eyes for your seismic/fire blaster? Maybe a new mission from the Icon shop to unlock it, much like the extra costume slots. You might say the costume powers you can buy with Prismatic Aether lets you do this. Those are all full-body effects, though. What if I just want glowing eyes and sparking fists? Is it too much to ask? If there's some issue with costume effects being too busy or overlapping, this "minor" slot could have none of the "body" aura options. Just eyes, head, fists, and whatever. Or, hey, just let us go wild. There's already plenty of silly things we can do with character customization. How about it? 1 1
arcane Posted Wednesday at 11:17 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:17 PM You could use your regular aura on your hands or eyes and then use a t3 prismatic effect for your full body aura. Would like to see more players acknowledging the existing options to have two auras before adding a third aura.

IIRC, you can already have both a path aura and a regular one. I wonder how difficult it would be to simply allow us to just select 2 of *any* aura options instead...

If I just want one flaming fist and some glowy eyes, I'm out of luck. Those power auras can be pretty overwhelming. Plus they're expensive! 28 minutes ago, biostem said: IIRC, you can already have both a path aura and a regular one. Well, they could have the second drop-down be the only one to actually include the path auras + the regular ones, to address that... 1

I could see a case being made for 2 path auras. Several, even. Cloud w/ Lightning + Rainbow = rainbows occasionally follow storms Blazing + Plants = setting fire to plants where ever you step Seismic + Splash = tearing up the ground and bursting water mains Clouds + Frost = Ice on the ground causing a fog Radiant + Streak = sparkely streaks Electric + Rainbow = ragnarok running COH Music: Origins & Archtypes, Heroes & Villains, Croatoa, Nemesis

Combined, though, they might produce a disruptive amount of effects for other players.

I think having the buffs of multiple powers like force fields, fire shields, ice shields, sonic barriers, kinetic glow, and so on --in addition to one's own auras and effects-- would be considered more disruptive, but that's accepted as part and parcel of the game. Someone seeing you run by with a wake of water and bubbles rising up from the ground wouldn't hardly be as intrusive. COH Music: Origins & Archtypes, Heroes & Villains, Croatoa, Nemesis

Those help let you know what's going on in combat. A huge sloshing wake and neon streak chasing you around is just flavor. I'm not necessarily saying it would be too much flavor, but it could be abusable, and some people might find it obnoxious, so I'd anticipate that being an argument against it.

If one is allowed, then two wouldn't really cause any more problem as far as abuse issues. Take someone who can fly rings around another player with the clouds aura tinted black like smoke or someone doing the same with a blazing trail of fire......and what is the difference between either of those situations and someone who can do it with both fire and smoke? And anyone that really made a nuisance of themselves in this way could be reported for harassment if they kept it up when asked to stop. Also power effects are a bonus, but they aren't needed and can be mostly minimized by players who choose to as often happens in large league events.
