Anderoth Posted Thursday at 04:00 PM Posted Thursday at 04:00 PM This may not be a bug, but it feels like it is. I looked and looked and could not find another cone in the game that is marked as "Target: self". Because of this one difference you can fire off the attack standing alone with no enemies and it will activate. You can move into position in front of enemies and fire off the attack and I assume because of latency, it hits nothing. When moving you can never use the attack right away. It's cumbersome and frustrating to use compared to any other attack I have used. Also because of the no target required is can not be queued up to attack like other melee attacks. I am hoping this was an oversight by whomever created the power. Bug or not I would like to request it be changed to work like all other cones in game and require an enemy target. 1
Rudra Posted Thursday at 05:09 PM Posted Thursday at 05:09 PM Here you go. another cone with a target of self: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=incarnate.judgement.vorpal_total_core_judgement All the vorpal cones are self targeted and function as described.
Anderoth Posted Thursday at 06:09 PM Author Posted Thursday at 06:09 PM Ah, I never looked at incarnate powers. Thank you for pointing that out! However I don't think you were directly disregarding my argument. I 9ft melee cone doesn't feel the same as 80-120ft long range cone. Being a tab-target, non-action MMO, using spinning kick feels like an action MMO ability, but janky. I just hope one of the Devs agree and it can be changed. I really want to use spinning kick and enjoy it.

lemming Posted Friday at 11:52 AM Posted Friday at 11:52 AM And with the cones, one of your complaints is that it you don't have to have a target to fire it off. Check all the PBAOEs. (the number of times I've done a Dragon's tail because I double clicked it earlier...) 1
Hedgefund2 Posted Friday at 04:04 PM Posted Friday at 04:04 PM FWIW (little to nothing) I agree that this is "janky". The difference between this and a PBAOE is that you not only have to align yourself in the right direction, you have to make sure you're within proper distance. With PBAOEs, if enemies are close that's good enough. With other cones you won't be able to fire the attack unless you're in range. This would be much easier to use if it worked like other melee cones. So I sign this petition.

Well, yeah, one is a melee cone and the other is a range cone. 23 hours ago, Anderoth said: Being a tab-target, non-action MMO, using spinning kick feels like an action MMO ability, but janky. You have the freedom to be wailing on an enemy, decide to turn and blast flankers with the cone, and your next attack will turn you back to your primary target to resume smacking. You also have the freedom to position the cone to catch as many targets as you can without the game shifting your attack to a less optimal angle because your target and his/her/their/its allies aren't sufficiently squeezing together for an optimal attack.
