Dual Blades

I've worked on 2 builds with Dual Blades as the primary, one with Super Reflexes and the other Dark Armor.

I like them both, but leaning DA. The main reason is SR nor DB has a heal and that might not be good. 2nd BUT....has anyone used the new power Obscure Sustenance and does it work as advertised?

I assume they mean try out the build on the test server to see which is better.

 

I'd argue SR is better tbh because low res caps and the regen in DA isnt useful for low HP toons like stalker.

Obscure Sustenance is very good imo.  A very good heal, very good regen, and even +recovery to help with DA's endurance issues.  Combined with good resistances in the rest of the set and the nice buff to cloak of fear DA does very well now, even on a stalker. 

 

SR is certainly good and I enjoyed my dm/SR stalker,  but so far actually liking my ice/dark armor better.  DA just has a lot more tools and isn't as one dimensional.

If you decide to give SR another try, and pick Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection, try slotting Power Transfer procs to help make up for the lack of heal. The below pic shows 1 Panacea and 3 Power Transfer procs. In one minute (08:55), they have a combine heal for 852.04 which averages to around 14.2 hp/s. The next minute they healed for 920.96 which is about 15.35 hp/s. This is on top of regular regeneration.

 

Relying on procs for a heal isn't ideal but they do have some advantages. Power Transfer/Panacea procs have no end cost, no cast time, they work while mezzed, -recharge debuffs does not change it's proc timing etc. Disadvantages, they will not heal as much as powers like Reconstruction, Dark Regeneration etc. They likely won't save you from those "oh shit" moments. But between the procs, Rebirth Radial Destiny, Preventive Medicine unique and SR's scaling resistance, it works out quite well.
