I often find I have a difficult time with certain powersets such as Cold, Force Field, Sonic, etc. that lack in any healing capabilities.

Medicine is one option available but without at least 3 power investment it's a slow, interruptible heal. Even enhanced it feels lacking compared to powerset heals.

What I'm wondering is if there's some other solution I'm unaware of. A temporary power, a prestige power, a pet that has a regen or healing aura, something like that. Or do I just pick up Medicine and call it good?

Honestly, you don't really worry about healing the henchmen on non-healing secondaries. You can pick up medicine if you so choose, but like you said, it's pretty clunky and annoying to use. You build those characters to be tough and you be ready to resummon/buff henchmen as needed. HC made this process way faster than it used to be.

I primarily play on Everlasting, but you may occasionally find me on Indom. 🙂

Notable Characters: Apocolyptica - Demons/Storm MM; Lurking Monster - Human-Form WS; Environmentabot - Bots/Nature MM; Miss Fade - Ill/Traps Controller; Sister Apocalypse - Beast/Dark MM; Dr. Elaina Wrath - Plant/Rad Controller (Join the House of Wrath, and spread the word of science!); Ruff Ruff Boom - AR/Devices Blaster

Spirit Ward from the Sorcery pool with a Panacea proc in it can be made to work; and I've gone that way on more than a few bubblers. However some MM primaries (especially Bots and Necro) don't really require external healing.

I will occasionally take the Medicine pool on MMs, but only while leveling up (T1 & T2 only) and if I am challenging myself (higher level enemies, larger spawns, such as in Hazard Zones). Otherwise, it isn't worth healing henchmen. (EDIT: It isn't IMO worth making extra effort to heal henchmen... just keep them alive and defeat enemies pdq)
