Kai Moon Posted October 8 Posted October 8 While generating this AI image of a DP blaster, I thought to myself, allowing only one Swap Ammo toggle on at a time was a missed opportunity. Obviously, this would be major work for minor game mechanics impact. The min-max wouldn't change: one toggle not two = same as current, presumably. This would be almost entirely for cosmetic flair, to amp up the flavor of having two guns. But I can dream. 2
merrypessimist Posted October 10 Posted October 10 It is my understanding that the ammo toggles change which of four otherwise identical powers gets "called" (executed) when you push the button. Making multi-ammo powers would thus need to create a power for each possible combination (fire/cold, cold/toxic, etc.). Speaking for myself I would prefer the powers team devoted their resources to something else. 1 1 1
srmalloy Posted October 11 Posted October 11 There is also the issue that at least one attack only uses one pistol, so it immediately raises the additional overhead of deciding whether that pistol gets ammo type A or ammo type B. It doesn't seem to me as if it would add enough to the game to be worth the significant coding work it would involve. 1
