Lafoote Posted Saturday at 01:08 AM Posted Saturday at 01:08 AM General questions: If I slot it for damage, I assume it makes the fire deal more damage, since the slick itself does none. Correct? Does Explosive Arrow ignite it if i hit mobs standing in the slick? Would slotting 'chance for fire damage' in the Oil Slick Arrow itself potentially light the slick if it triggers on a mob?
Renatos1023 Posted Saturday at 02:24 AM Posted Saturday at 02:24 AM 1. Yes. Slotting damage enhancements into OSA will increase the fire damage once it is lit. 2. OSA is lit by either fire or energy damage hitting the Oil Slick itself, not the surrounding enemies. You'll see that you can target the OSA once you deploy it. Since Explosive Arrow deals lethal and fire damage in an area, it should light the slick when you fire at enemies nearby, as long as the pseudo-pet itself is hit when Explosive Arrow is fired (the igniting of the slick is dependent on the attack hitting the OSA itself). You can also target the OSA and hit it with Flaming Arrow to ignite it. 3. I do not believe the proc will light the OSA. However, I don't generally proc attacks, so I will leave that to someone more qualified to answer. The chance for fire damage and chance for energy damage procs won't light the slick, but Preemptive or Reactive Radial Interface will light it. Uuniverse
Psyonico Posted Saturday at 04:26 PM Posted Saturday at 04:26 PM I should also add that the tech and magic origin powers will also light oil slick. I on all of my TA toons I use a macro that targets oil slick and activates an origin power. 1 What this team needs is more Defenders
Uun Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM Posted Saturday at 06:28 PM They really should add a small amount of energy damage to Entangling Arrow, much like they did with Tactical Arrow/Electrified Net Arrow for blasters. 1 Uuniverse

I swear I read/heard somewhere that the reason they didn't do this when they overhauled Trick Arrow was it was deemed OP to have a built-in ignition source in a support set, but that happened almost 65 years ago and I can't recall where I saw that explanation. As someone who dragged an Ice/TA controller to 50 back on Live, I can tell you that I don't think it would have been OP to have a built-in ignition source for OSA. As a matter of fact, a Rad/Fire Brute does just fine in Fire *and* S/L farms, and regular content. Just because some rando can't make it work, doesn't mean their experience obviates that of all others.
