DFB Question

I was midway through a DFB with an alt this evening and it became evident that this toon was just not going to make it.  The delete button was merely five minutes away for this poor fella and it struck me suddenly how absolutely brutal a DFB run really is. 

 

What proportion of characters on any given DFB run will make it to 50?

 

My guess, using an n of 1, is that it's about 8% (on a good day).

For me, I tend to get chars up to at least to their 30s before thinking about retiring them.   Most of mine get to 50 and if I can figure out a fun viable build for them, they get to stay.  DFB has very little to do with it.

If you're judging a character's performance on the DFB you're not giving it a chance. The whole point of DFB is to get a solid XP boost to get you past the starting levels in a hurry. It's not meant to be too testing, but to get your character to a level when you can start evaluating the whole character in the round. 

 

If you delete it at such an early stage you'll never know how well it would bloom at later levels.

I’ve had a couple toons that while in the middle of a DFB, I realize that I just don’t like the set.  Then it’s just a matter of hurry up and finish so I can delete.

The vast majority of the time though, I’ll run through 2DFBs and both Posi’s before deciding.

DFB is literally nothing in the scope of things to me, the only thing I use it as a judge of it is weather people can listen to direction about and weather MMs can control their henchmen.

 

Its nothing to get to level 20 so that is when I start deciding if I like the character.
