Lazarillo Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Just curious if anyone has found it useful to pick up the taunt from the Presence pool. Granted, Sentinels aren't as sturdy with their defenses as some other ATs, but with buffs and the right sort of build twinking, I've seen some pretty hardy Sentinels out there. Has anyone tried being a "ranged tank"?
Sunsette Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 The hardiest Sentinels I've seen have to take four power pools that give a defense bonus, because the most durable Sentinel sets are either resistance primary or layered. None of those power pools are Presence. I almost think this was an intentional design decision to avoid the fear of a ranged tank finding exploits. I keep getting distracted by my sents I know are fun first. This one is a water/bio for the defensive stance when needed. capped S/L F/C E/N with link minds and lowest buff of barrier. 1572 HP and 422 regen before parasitic leech.Also has an absorb shield. Good aggro generation, decent defenses, but no defense debuff protection for anything vaguely hard, no resistances of note to even energy, you'll melt fast against anything but Council at 50. Destlin Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 those are fair points, My first thought was radiation because it is really easy to get good res and def cap ranged but my main is a fire/rad and was wanting to try something else.
