So, going through the Corruptor section i found zero topics for a En/Kin, i know energy isn't a favorite amongst most players due to badly played KB toons causing lasting PTSD. but even looking through the topics that rate or rank the different primaries, energy is usually just left completely off like it doesn't exist. One of my mains back on live was an En/Kin and honestly one of the most fun characters i've ever played (yes i hover and position my KB for best effect), i've recreated him on HC, and moving pretty steadily up the levels despite my altaholism. i've never really been great at builds and slotting effectively, too much of a "concept" player, but really looking to make a functional build with decent def and some recharge, or def and res.... not sure what is actually doable with this pairing as far as sets go, the logical mathy part of my brain turns off when i play superheroes. so if anyone could help, maybe throw a build or a couple suggestions my way, that would be MUCH appreciated.

thanks in advance.

This should work. Very close to softcapped s/l/e and permahasten. It has instasnipe and decent s/l resist too. In general people don't play energy blast because of the knockback and lower dmg compared to other primaries. I don't like cones, so I didnt take any.

Thanks Darkir,

i saw your fire/kin build in the forum and liked it (you kept repel for reasons i agree with), and was thinking about trying to adapt it, but then i figured it was very aoe focused and the whole thing smacked of way more effort than i can muster for these kind of things. the build looks a bit expensive, but funds and recipes/sets are much easier to come by on HC, so i should be able to make this work. i appreciate the effort man.

The kintank build I have posted does have a lot of AOE, but it also has a very good ST attack chain in Blaze>Blazing Bolt>Fireball>Flares (for corruptors I think its only beaten by a proc'd out ice or dp attack chain, I can keep myself+the team at about 250% dmg buff on one target and all the fire dots are helped by that). This en/kin build also has good AOE and a decent attack chain. You could focus more on procs for better ST dmg, but then you would miss out on the global recharge and some defense. Kinetics doesn't lend itself well to a proc build on a corruptor, because it has no defense buffs and we already have lower def modifiers compared to a defender. I rolled a proc focused DP/Kin on the test server and although I think the ST dmg was better, the aoe was worse compared to fire. Also. the FF recharge proc was up all the time, which was nice, but you kinda need to choose what you want to do when choosing powersets and making a build. For instance, the current kintank build I am using (and have posted), is using rune of protection, which is great for mez protection and to get up to 75% s/l res, but for those 40 seconds or so that it isn't on I take 30% more dmg which really hurts sometimes. Overall for most content I think the trade-off is worth it, but there is no denying that it is much worse in a farm.
