I've discovered a bug with one of the Stances. Is this the place to report it? I only have female characters, so I don't know if males are affected. To see the bug, select Blitz Stance at a Tailor. Press A key to run left. You'll see the problem. Edit: Never mind, the problem seems to be gone.

Is there any possibility for a west coast (or western Canada) server?
tanglin replied to Phanto's topic in General Discussion
A VPN is virtually (no pun intended) mandatory if you're in China and want to be connected to the outside world without China censoring what you see. So, there's a good chance that the OP is already using a VPN. -

Is there a shard that is hosted by the OVH data centre in Singapore? -
Is there another way of selecting the NPCs that I have placed?

It works, thanks! I've watched some of her videos to learn how to build outdoors. -

Thanks, it's easier to target NPCs with Tab. However, even with the NPC selected, because the mouse still can't target it, I can't move it around. Is there a way to move them with the keyboard alone? -
Gravity Control - Time Manipulation - Primal Forces Mastery
tanglin replied to @T3h Ish's topic in Controller
I just got my Grav/Time/Primal Controller to lvl 50 yesterday and slotted her up with some affordable IO sets to buff a little bit of her recharge, recovery, regen and defence. But I've no idea which Alpha to take. I play solo 99% of the time. Any suggestions for Incarnate powers? -
Is there anyone like me who can't stand story NPC allies dying during the mission? It's not necessarily because I need their firepower, it's just not very heroic to not be able to bring everyone home with me. For instance, in the mission where you confront Mot with Lady Grey, Lord Recluse, Blue Steel, Hero1 and Devoured Pyriss, I lost Pyriss when she aggroed a new group while I was cleaning up another one and she fell to their alpha strike. It can be maddening trying to shepherd them and the toon I've been most successful in doing this with is my permadom Dominator, by locking down everything before the NPCs aggro them; but even then I still lost Pyriss due to that accident. On my scrapper, almost no one survives till the end. On my Ill/Rad controller, I'd try to use PAs to absorb the alpha strikes and heal everyone whenever I can, but my poor DPS prolongs the fights, making the chance of an NPC dying higher if they're spread out (which they love to do). Some of them even have powers that raise the chance of their own demise, such as attacks that have knockbacks. They'd knock an enemy back, chase after it, aggro a whole new group, and then go splat. Does anyone else aim to bring everyone home, or do you treat them as fodder?
-
I've never tried that, but I've since realised that it's the proc from the Stupify Set that's knocking everyone back and have removed it, so I can't test it now.
-
I've never tried running the game with logging turned on. How complicated is it?
-
I put the proc from Cloud Senses into the 6th slot for thematic purposes, but I can't always tell if it procs though. The devs had a very different idea of the value of knockback from the playerbase. They seemed to think that knockback is awesome, when it actually requires a lot of skill and situational awareness from players to make it work in a team setting.
-
Yeah, and that "chance" to knockback is more like certainty. I'd jump into a nicely herded group, and every single mob, including bosses, would be flung to the 4 corners.
-
Ah crap ... how did I miss that Chance for Knockback IO in that Stupify set?? Thanks! Mystery solved. I'm taking that out, but I'll lose the 6-piece bonus. Oh well ...
-
What is an effective way of using this power? I took it just to slot it for the recharge bonus, but its mechanics seem to be the very antithesis of control. It knocks every mob away from you before applying a stun. What's even more frustrating is that nowhere does the power description, including the detailed one, say anything about the knockback, and you can't put a "change knockback to knockdown" IO on it. How do you use it effectively in a team situation? Does applying an AOE immobilisation beforehand stop them from being knocked away?

I tried out the base buffs and decided to bite the bullet and go without them as having to rebuff every hour became a quality of life issue. Anyway, I'm IO'd with recharge reduction of about 91% not counting Hasten, so I think I'm good now. I'm currently going for Musculature on my Alpha. Thanks for all your help!
-
Thanks for your replies! I'm lvl 50, but I only go for budget builds still. Should I go for lvl 50 enhancements whenever they are available in the set, or go for lower level for exemplaring?
-
With Hasten, how much more global recharge do I need, and which set bonuses should I look to to get it? I like to IO out my builds as organically as possible, instead of planning out a build on mids, and for now, I'm focusing on global recharge to get perma Domination. I'll consider as bonus any S/L/R defence as by-products along the way, but recharge is my main concern for now. Also, does the recharge reduction from Alpha's Spiritual apply to Domination recharge? Edit: Oh and I'm Dark/Dark/Ice

Thanks, I saw your post shortly after posting this thread, actually. I like AOE holds to be reliable like the other sets', but this one seems to be a mix of holds and -to hit, making it reliable only for the first 8 seconds, compared to the 12 in the others.
-
I'm trying out Darkness Control for the first time and I don't quite get how Shadow Field works. It doesn't work like other sets' AOE holds, in that the mobs inside the dome merely has a chance to be held. Is that how it works? Edit: Never mind, another post has explained how it works.

I see. Still, it's good enough for my characters to avoid anachronisms. Learn that the Rikti are humans at level 35 (from Steven Sheridan), then see a Lost become a Rikti at level 40 (from Angus McQueen), and then cure the Lost after that (from Montague Castanella).
-
Thank you very much! This arc tells us that the Rikti are actually humans, but I don't remember if there is another mission that tells us that the Rikti made the Lost into what they are. Is there such a mission? The reason I'm asking this is because I'd like my characters to avoid anachronisms like running Montague Castanella's mission arc to change the Lost back to human at lvl 15, and then at lvl 30+, learn from a mission about the Rikti and the Lost and be like OMG! The Rikti are actually humans and they are mutating the Lost to be like them! Who woulda thunk it? I treat the leveling process as my character learning and growing. So now, I should do the Organ Grinders before doing Montague Castanella's arc. Are there any other mission arcs I should do before that, to avoid anachronisms?
-
Which mission or mission arc is it, in which the player character learns that the Lost are intimately linked to the Rikti; that they are transformed by Rikti technology?
