  1. Also, if you're going to try an USB-to-Ethernet adapter, it's going to eat one of your 4  USB ports.
Recommend getting a USB-C-to-Ethernet adapted with additional USB ports.

You're in The Land Of Maple, so use this link:

Don't simply "settle" for whatever's sitting on a shelf in your only brick and mortar option.

For the Ethernet cable,. I recommend shielded CAT6a.  Only get something as long as you absolutely need.

Link is to a 5 foot cable with the option to choose longer/shorter..

  2. Again, the build is not meant as anything other than a very quickly thrown together example.  And YES, I missed things.
I was simply brute-forcing for Defense and Resist numbers in a time crunch (I was on a short break while at GenCon).

    * Double Stacked defense  (My point exactly)
    * No Shield Charge (My point exactly).  And I agree with your prescriptive fix here.
    * Regen boost.  Build had other priorities. (Defense/Resist)  I'm sure with more time I could have hit the same results in another way.
    * Assault Core.  Agreed, it was a mistake brought on by the speed of the build process.

Note on the unbalanced Defense.  Again simply because the build priorities don't conform to your personal preference does not make these "mistakes" or "wrong".

Use of OF is, as mentioned used SOLELY in the service of chasing set bonuses.
Though the little bit of KB Resist aside from AD is a nice little insurance policy.

Additionally, BA is a fairly one-note set.  It makes it extremely difficult to diversify for broader Defense.

In the end, the most common forms of damage have excellent protection and while it has DDR, the over-cap Defenses act as a buffer against the fractional Defense Debuff that DOES sneak through.

    * Passing on Slot 6 for AW in Melt Armor.
    POINTS TO RESISTANCE NUMBERS

I agree.  Your build is generally better balanced, and likely way more effective.
Then again, you've had a couple of days to dig down and correct/optimize things.

    I didn't.

Thanks for you advice Sanguinesun. As for your last line there, it was just me and him in the group because he typically runs solo and just saw me on at like 3am.
At the time I didnt ask him anything specific about his build due to me focusing on my MasterMind, but was thinking about making a character that would help with my small group of friends of Missions and TFs.

Hyperstrike, this looks awesome. Although I do not know how to use mids by way of slotting enhancments and how to optimally do them, the stats, from what I can read, look fantastic. Thank you for your help with this

This is why I've gone back to flat text exports.

I've been unable to get the 3.5 version of Mids exports to work right.
So the flat text one gives you the level the slot goes in, the level of the enhancement and the enhancement itself.

I'm also a gay man of an older generation when queer was absolutely a slur, I fully support removing the word from the profanity filter. But this absolutely should not give license for people to use it pejoratively in the game.

You can have it fast, cheap or good.  PICK ONE!

  5. Also, check to see if you're running any sort of download/content management software on your machine.
    3rd party game accelerators, etc.
These things, are almost always universally BAD for normal function.  As they screw around with regular network traffic in an attempt to speed up certain types of traffic.

  6. Ideally you want to bump your Resists and Defense up as much as is reasonably possible.
This should leave you with more than enough slots to fill out your attacks.

Basic brute-force (Heh heh heh) build.

To echo Rudra, many people born before 1990 would recognize the word as offensive. I was born in the 1970s and for me it was a part of my lexicon for many years, especially when I was younger. It has taken some effort to edit it from usage. That, and calling people or things "retarded". I think I was in my 30s before I really recognized how offensive some of my words were.

    <---- Thoughtless youth!

    WORDS aren't offensive.
And NO, I will not apologize for those who find the concept I've just forwarded "offensive".
    They're just words.
It's the thought process used by the person uttering or hearing the words.
Thus, in the end, it's entirely a "you" problem.
As such, this is why we have the word filter.
    Use it, or don't.
    Play or don't.
In the end, the only one you have ANY modicum of control over is YOURSELF.

I used DDU as I do whenever I completely uninstall a video card or change manufacturers.  It seems to be stable now after a motherboard driver update that was released June 2023 🙂  Keeping my fingers crossed but 2 weeks and no crashing whatsoever.  Thanks for the reply.

  9. This is more or less Hyperstrike in his current, non-maxed form.
    It's a relatively speedy scranker.
And still total overkill for 90+% of the game.
You'll be Resist Maxed to S/L by default so you can run with Tough turned off.
Basically shuffle between your ST Melee attacks, and Foot Stomp is up so often it's practically a damage aura.

The build is basically self-sufficient, endurance-efficient and straightforward.  No real gimmicks.
If you worry about the "Psi Hole", strip out the Def/End LOTG IOs and transfer the slots to your earliest Resist powers and drop in the Aegis unique and a couple Impervium Armor psi resists.

I'm a Defense weenie, so I see that this drops En/Neg Defense below soft-cap with one enemy in range.
That's easily fixed.  Walk into (or taunt in) a couple more enemies and Incarnate Soft Cap can be all yours!

Any critiques on the build?  Did I miss something obvious?  🤷‍♂️

The choices to stay away from the Winter sets do compromise your mitigations a bit...

I like this, but I would like to know if the powers that be are now going to generic you.  And if so, why?  And if not, why not?

Since it was never an ACTUAL Barbie take-off, I seriously doubt it.

It was actually more of a commentary on the Costume Creator

Kind of like how Jack Frost doesn't take Ice Minstral's cold proc :(.  Pets like the Umbra Beast can take sets that effect their secondary effects such as Clouded Senses, but for some reason Jack's ... Ahem ... Out in the cold.

In reality, it doesn't really work out.

HOWEVER, in prolonged combat, you'll find the majority of your damage will be done through...Hot Feet.
Toss in debuffs, various procs, etc, and that works out to a WHOPPING amount of damage.
