While your point is absolutely valid and unassailable, I rather aggressively dislike the new Elude, and am hoping that particular change doesn't end up going through. I'd rather get current Master Brawler and leave Elude alone than have the new Elude.

SR Players: Yo, can we get Master Brawler like Sentinels?
Devs: Sure, but now it's just a toggle version of PB with no absorb because Sentinels can't read.

As of this morning, I was not able to slot healing enhancements or sets into Elude on my Scrapper. I tried Numina's, Preventive Medicine, a regular healing IO, and a healing SO.
Caveat: I typically only play my MA/SR Scrapper, and while I have dabbled in tank, brute, and stalker versions, I don't really have altitis and don't know as much about other sets because I don't play them, so comparing them is challenging for me.
I'm not sure I like the overall changes to Elude, but I admit that may be due to my unfamiliarity with other 30 second t9s. I've typically relied on Elude when solo handling a hard target/group or when on a team to keep myself standing while the rest of the team gets back to help during a wipe (rare these days, but it has happened). The thirty second duration feels "pointless" to me; however, I acknowledge that there is a segment of more experienced players who have used other sets who understand that this could be used to deal with alpha strikes in a proactive manner instead of my OHSHI- reactive manner. Duration feels too short to be effective (to my playstyle), given what the current build does. I might feel different about it when the ability to slot healing enhancements is fixed, but as of this moment, I now only see the power as a mule for the absorb proc that I haven't been able to fit in elsewhere.
I feel like I was one of few who even took Elude, given the current meta that it's skippable. This change makes me feel like i can finally skip it. Those of you out there better at math than me, is this maybe now something that, with enough recharge, could be made perma, and theoretically "replace" Practiced Brawler given its new Status Protection ability?

Not for me. I've decided I don't like multiverses. One sacred timeline or gtfo.
Can't we all just collectively agree to tell one story and attribute changes to the cast with having a new artist on the (live action or animated) comic book?

I'd pay 10 mil for the AE customizable "summon a buddy" power mentioned above. That's a damn fine idea. Bonus points if i can use commands to make it talk or do emotes and stuff. Checks my roleplayer box.

So a shield can canonically be made of energy. Should work great for Shield Defense.

I think if an invisible or even visible energy/force shield can exist as a 1st level spell it can work in Paragon City.
I mean, for fucks sake, if your suspension of disbelief will allow you to believe that a shield, in your left hand, can protect you from a grenade, sword, or energy beam from behind and to the right (all things shield defense does), why can we not believe in this?

Kind of the opposite of the OP request, but a crab backpack option for Mace Mastery could be cool. Shooting blasts and grenades from that instead of drawing and using the Arachnos Mace.

Two slotting infiltration with +5 winter's gift, when added to +5 run speed in swift, +5 run speed in quickness (im Super Reflexes) and with sprint on (with celerity stealth) puts me at the non super speed speed cap.
For transparency i typically run musculature alpha which boosts run speed as well, and may play a part.

There's no real delay for drawing an invisible sword, bow, or gun to attack. Why would there be for this? You don't toggle on/off sheathing/unsheathing your sword, bow, or gun. Oh, or mace. Or axe. Or fire sword. Or ice sword. Or etc. IMO the attacks come from a weapon like anything else, and should follow the same internal logic as any other weapon or set of weapons. If a gorram titan sword can appear in one's hand out of nowhere, why can't a backpack?
If you want to compare it to other backpack powers instead, my main can't fly without his jetpack temp power. But when I toggle it on, the backpack appears from out of nowhere and I start flying PDQ.

If there is a solid story, and a solid reason to do so, absolutely. Insurmountable odds against implacable foes, and something, no, someone has to inspire the turning of the tide? I think there would be some cheers.
If it's "Just because," it cheapens the tale.

I really liked it. There were a lot of comic-book cover scenes and images in the opening montage that I liked, and outside of Reed I really liked the characters, especially the Thing. My unpopular opinion is that Mr. Pascal doesn't need to be in everything. I feel like there were easter eggs that hit my subconscious that I need a second viewing to catch properly, but my personal opinion is that I think it's one of the best post-Endgame efforts thus far.
And I'm usually a pretty bitchy fanboy, if I'm being honest.

It's all good Troo. You quoted my die hard meme earlier, so it's all love. The people who patrol this subforum that I'm essentially calling Mean Girls however, either don't know or don't believe that they are doing anything that could be received as harmful or hurtful, which in my opinion is sort of the misguided point this thread is trying to make.

Crab spider backpacks as Aether Costume powers, since Warshades and Peacebringers got aether options for their EAT effects.

Can we get an alternate animation for grenade powers (web grenade, frag grenade, temps, epics, et al) that is more shooty and less throwy? I feel like the quick snipe animations (whether open hand, or closed fist, or both!) could be a good fit animation time-wise.

Honestly, I'd prefer it if they performed all the same. With melee, Same number of st vs cone vs aoe. T1, T2, etc damage is the same across all sets, with the differences being damage type and additional effect. (Martial arts does smashing and stun, ice does cold and slow, fire does fire and fire dot, etc). Then you could tune the differences between archetypes with the non damaging powers. Example, stalkers get placate, scrappers get confront, tanks get taunt, and brutes get ...nerfed probably. Kidding! But maybe Brutes could get something different that suits them better. Same with build up. It could do to hit plus damage/fear mag and duration on stalker, to hit plus damage/whatever on scrapper, to hit plus damage/ mez duration/magnitude on tanks, hell why not give rage to all brute sets to make the at different in that way instead of confining it to super strength alone.
But I'm a numbery spreadsheet-fu kind of guy at heart. Your mileage and preference may vary.

Way, Waaaaaaay more "currencies" than we had In The Beginning. Back then it was Inf, and then Prestige. Then came salvage, recipes, and just.....all the merits. It's arguably worse now with threads, aether, etcetera etcetera etcetera.

Upon further reflection, the new Elude seems to offer:
A lowered self defense bump that soft cappers (including incarnate soft cappers) may not need.
Status protection that approximates what we already have in PB (often double atacked)
A regen buff that lasts 30 seconds and, honestly, sort of cancels out the scaling resistance SR offers since more hit point% =less resistance.
A movement buff
A recovery buff that now only lasts 30 seconds.
This feels like an overall nerf, or at the very least a change in the intended use for the power. If this is in stone, i request it's name be changed to Pre-lude, since it will be used primarily, i guess, for alphas instead of for longer battles.
Maybe id like it better if it could have the duration and recharge altered and made perma like PB (you can take pb to mean Practiced Brawler or Light form for PeaceBringers)? Then i could take master brawler as a toggle and have this on auto, where id really only be using it for the regen and recovery boost, since the movement, defense, and status protection are nearly useless for me, and presumably other SR players?
Maybe, in addition to the above, instead of +regen or absorb we could get + hit points instead, making it act like both a click heal and making our scaling resistance more efficient since we'd have a deeper pool to dive into? A lot of people believe the one hole in SR is a lack of a self-heal, maybe that'd close it.
