  1. I am just such a masochist. Back during the hiatus, I created a bunch of demofiles to showcase all the characters that I thought I would never see again (at the time). Demoediting let me do all sorts of neat tricks like FX, using NPC parts, size changes, etc. I used these demofiles to stage screenshots and had a lot of fun doing it. I've forgotten most of what I've learned since then, though I'm sure the mental muscle memory is in here somewhere. I'd be interested in getting back to it, but I was sure that there was no way to playback demo files anymore. Can we do this now in HC? Also, I'm going to use this post as an excuse to show off some of my demo screenies:
  2. That is brilliant, loved how you used the color options on the horns and helmet to look like they are burning hot and pairing it with the aura effect. This is so good.
  3. While I love all of Operetta's look, this one blew my mind. Glam, sinister and elegant all in one!
  4. Androgyny is genius. Brilliant use of jacket/chest piece combo.
  5. No, they were made in Icon back in the day. Though, I have a vague recollection that we can use NPC parts in Paragon Chat now?
  6. Here is my first Zodiac Team decked out in their Lunar New Year's finery. Happy New Year! Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous new year!
  7. I used the Egyptian headdress for my Order of Our Lady of Righteous Vigilance. And most of them don't even have guns.
  8. I used demoedit to create something to show off all the Zodiac characters I have created. My inspiration were the wraparound connected covers from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. I only got as far as making one for Rat characters and one for Ox characters. I really should finish this, but will need to update some roster changes. Also, loved that in Demoedit, I could create giant-size characters like Maxi Mouse below:
  9. An amazing overall design, very visually stunning. And I am totally stealing the Chest Symbol combo.
  10. All of your costumes are really nice, but I especially like this Ulala inspired look. Spot on and so much fun!
  11. Another fun thing I learned to do in demo editing was using FX features. The sequence below looked good in demo playback with the Celestial Dragon hovering in the air and raising her hand as she cast her munificence upon her Army. The FX would cascade through the assembled kneeling ranks, as each wave hit, the soldiers would rise and feel the power of the Dragon coursing through them. This series of screenies is the best I have to try and illustrate this:
  12. During the hiatus, I learned how to manually edit demo files to create specific scenes with my characters posed just so. Since Homecoming, however, I have lost that skill and I think the tools I used no longer work. To make matters worse, the demo files and original screenies are on a hard drive that I can't quite access anymore. Still, I've got a copies of a few of these images and wanted to share them here. They are compressed and not as hi-res as the original screenshots, however. This is the Army of the Dragon under the command of Tian Shang Lung, the Celestial Dragon. She's the BIG BAD in my head canon and having an army befits her quite well. I used the Romulus portion of the ITF map to stage the review of her army. She is flanked by the Fallen Zodiac, her closest advisors and lieutenants. Behind her is her personal guard, Terracotta Dragon Warriors. Leading her army is the Dragon General and his Swordsmen. The army itself is comprised of Soldiers, Pikemen, Archers and Axemen, supplemented by a cadre of Dragon Sorcerers.
  13. Wow, excellent work in grayscale. I've tried to do the same with a noir robot detective, but it's not as convincing because metal already looks gray.
  14. I am considering rerolling Sarkophagus with the new Seismic Blast option for Controllers. Earth Control was the power I wasn't crazy about on him.
  15. Wow, I'm getting some serious Kirby Fourth World vibes from that look. I love it!
  16. Oh wow, I love those Court concepts, especially Madness (as I've got a whole Wonderland theme going in another batch of characters). In truth, I am often challenged by matching powersets with character concepts. So I am especially excited by what you've got here. I wouldn't worry about any potential conflicts with any powerset combos I may have already used, since I'm agnostic about that sorta thing. I'm looking forward to whatever awesomeness you deliver.
  17. Thank you all for the very kind words, I means a lot to me. I honestly hadn't considered more Courts as I felt having six was a thematically appropriate number. I might consider expanding the current Courts, if I feel so inspired. Of course, what we would be best is to see others share their concepts for more Courts of Hallowed Eve
  18. Princess of Bones. Olivia Ostea has built her court upon a foundation of bones. Every wall is adorned with the collected skeletons of enemies, rivals and victims. The towers and spires are forever climbing, as she hoards ever more. She is very pleased that the Hallowed Eve has been an endless source of bones. Prince of Bones. Kostur serves his lady Olivia Ostea as the executioner for the Court of Bones.
  19. Prince of Moonlight. The mysteries of the moon is the source of power for the Moon Master. His is not the moonlight that provides a feeling of security on a dark night. But, rather, it shines brightly to spotlight victims to the hungry creatures of the night. Princess of Moonlight. The secrets of the moon remain hidden behind the searing brightness of Mistress Moonbeam. Her silverlight is cold and dead, offering no warmth or comfort.
  20. Princess of Blood. A sister in the Ordo Sanguinem, Mother Crimson is a caretaker of the unbelievers chosen to given their precious blood to the Church. Her convent is filled to the rafters with row upon row of unbelievers, kept to feed the gr owing members of the Ordo Sanguinem. Prince of Blood. A member of the Ordo Sanguinem, the Bloodfather consecrates the Hallowed Eve in the dark blood of unbelievers. By doing so, he spreads the red gospel of the Ordo Sanguinem and the grace of Santo Sangre.
  21. Prince of Night. Doctor Darkstorm molds and shapes the bodies of his ""patients"". He does not use anesthesia, as his patients need to feel his cuts and his slices, in order to truly appreciate his care. Princess of Night. Doctor Nightfallen specializes in the minds of her ""patients"". She leaves no scars or other visible damage, but her victims are forever changed. Reduced to babbling incoherence or frantic whispers, their throats made raw from endless terrified screaming. Doctor Nightfallen ensures that her patients will forget whatever troubles first brought them to her tender care.
  22. Princess of Graves. Sometime in the distant past, the woman who would become the Silent Bride stood before the altar, eager to be married to her betrothed. A terrible earthquake struck the church just as the bride closed her eyes to be kissed by her new husband. The entire church become entombed in the shattered earth and the bride was forever silenced. Until she pulled herself from the stony grave, bringing the wedding party with her. No one knows what drove the Silent Bride to emerge from the grave, no one knows what compels her to visit terror and pain upon her victims, no one knows just why she joined the Hallowed Eve. Only the Silent Bride knows and she is not saying a word. Prince of Graves. It is uncertain if he is the resurrected body of the entombed or the animated golem shaped from the tomb itself. But what is absolutely clear is that the Walking Tomb is an absolute expert at disposing of bodies. He is also pretty handy at providing bodies to be disposed, as well.
  23. Prince of Flames. The Firejack is an ancient fire imp who has adapted to the modern times. Trading in fire for firepower, the Firejack is a deadly assassin and ruthless mercenary. The perfect gun for hire, no job is too despicable, deadly or dangerous for the right price. Princess of Flames. The Candlewitch burns from within, only her magicks can contain and controls this inferno. She channels the fire with deadly effectiveness, setting alight all who would stand in the way of the Hallowed Eve.
