  1. Due to my thoughts that there is always room for one more Alt, what do you think would be the best AT/Powerset to fit the most Procs into? I know this would be far from optimal, but I am looking for something that would be pure chaos. Maybe the procs activate, maybe they don't, but when they all fire off, oh Lordy! My first gut impression is DP, as most can take a lot of different set categories (Slow/Knockback/Acc  Def Debuf/Def Debuff/Ranged/Ranged AOE/etc) Also, what is the most Procs you would put in one power? I'm thinking you would want at least one Acc (although again, for maximum chaos, would you run 6?) Just a thought experiment at the moment, but would this even be feasible? I know it would not be cheap, but hey, you can't take it with you when you're gone, right?

  2. Is this possible? I'm looking for a Macro that will allow me to costume change w/an effect and turn on hover and another that will turn it off when switching back. I have tried  /macro cc3 "em $$cce 2 ccprestochango$$powerexec_toggleon hover" and  /macro cc3 "powerexec_toggleon hover $$em $$cce 2 ccprestochango" but both just do the costume change. Any suggestions?

  3. Thank you @bellona100, I've read the Wiki many times and finally caught the throwaway sentence fragment in the first paragraph. The question I had was how effective is it to build towards high def/res if you spend the majority of time in Bodyguard mode. Yes, you can split your henchmen and regardless of how much aggro you can pull there will be times where your pets get targeted and those def/res will help, but how cost effective is Force Field for example when the majority(ish) of the time it does not come into play?

  4. Ok, how does our pets defense/restistance work with Bodyguard mode? I would assume they apply their resistances to their individual share of incoming damage, but what about defense? Do they get a chance to avoid the share completely? If not, would it be better for defense focused builds (I'm looking at Ninja/FF specifically) to not use Bodyguard and focus on keeping aggro of the character?

  5. This is specifically for KB Proc for BOTZ, but is also for procs in general on toggle powers. Does the power need to be on for the proc to work? If I put KB protection in Super Leap, is that useless if I'm running Combat Jump during the mission? I understand procs in general but wasn't sure with travel powers that are sometimes mutually exclusive.

  6. Storm Cell is an odd duck power that does a lot of things, none of them particularly well on its own. So do you slot for recharge to get 2 (maybe 3?) out at a time? Knockback to keep folks down?  What IO's work well with it? Do you ignore slotting it altogether?

  7. So, have to say this is a first for me. Running Atlas Bank mission for the jet pack and got the weapons deal side mission. Bust some Skulls and my reward is a heavy rock. One. Heavy, Rock. So many questions. Why were the Skulls buying a rock? How much was the rock? WHO IS SELLING A ROCK?!  Are we getting a Paper Armor set to combat this geological threat? Sometimes, as a hero, I question if Paragon City really needs me out patrolling.

  8. This is only my understanding of it, so correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears to get the red circle when it is fully charged. I have noticed it having the red circle when I log in and before I start fighting. Feels kinda counter-intuitive (maybe should be green, or something besides red)

  9. I've created a couple of Dual Pistols characters in the past and just automatically picked up Swap Ammo @ 6 as soon as it was available. It's nice to have, but I usually just set it to incendiary and forget about it except for rare occasions where I will test Cryo or Chemical for a while before swapping back. However, sticking to regular ammo gives you a lot of soft CC (KB/KD) and -Def and - Res in Empty Clips/Executioner's Shot/Piercing Rounds. So would a DP build without Swap Ammo be more like a Dual Blades that just ignores the combo system or would it be like a Petless MM? I know both can be done, but how bad is it to just ignore Swap Ammo?

  10. @UltraAlt, it was never my intention to complicate what you had said and I apologize if I came across as combative. My point was that your easy to understand line obviously wouldn't be everyone's line. GM Impervium's quote confirms that as there is no line (again, understandably) the entire character creation is a "gray area" I cannot and am not speaking for you or anyone else, but I believe that all of us came to this game from a love of the sources (comics/movies/anime/etc) and we have all at some point created characters inspired by those sources. I absolutely agree that your examples are correct, but unfortunately, there is a wide variety of options between those 2 examples and therein lies the challenge. As I said in my original post, it is more of a "I'll know it when I see it" rule which can feel uncomfortable as none of us have the same field of reference. To take @PLVRIZR's example above, he had a character that for over a year was not reported or seen by a GM who found it violated the rules. Ultimately it is the GM's call whether to genericize a character, which is how it should be. My question originally was are there any guidelines to what is or is not allowed, and the answer is no and that is ok. It's not the answer I wanted, but it is the answer I can accept.

    The difference is pretty simple.

Hulk, Incredible Hulk. Huik (the i looks like a lowercase L ingame by default), etc. would be copyright infringement ... especially if your character has green skin and you were torn purple pants.

A Homage would be Rampage, Angry Radioativeman, etc. with purple skin and green torn pants.

But it really isn't that simple finding where the line is. Let's take your example of Rampage, is he still ok if he was green skin and orange pants? If he was green/purple but a skinny 4' tall character? If he was just gender-swapped? (ok, last one was not a great example as we already have She-Hulk). It is just comes down to if someone sees your character, "feels" it could be a problem, decides to report it, and a GM agrees. I want to be clear that I absolutely understand and agree with the policy, but there is a lot of enjoyment to be had in coming up with "homage" characters and seeing how creative you can get in bringing them to life without crossing the line. But if you have no idea where the line is, it is definitely more difficult.
