  1. With Cimerora: Cimerora is in the distant past. Who's to say that it doesn't occur before Primal and Praetorian Earth split into two timelines? Maybe it's a *shared period* of their history, and if the Primal Earth's Council is interfering in that history, maybe that's something the Praetorian Midnighters would also care about addressing. Or if you don't like what that does to your understanding of temporal mechanics, what if, after the events of Night Ward, the Midnight Club approaches the Midnighters to try and help start evacuating Praetoria during the war, and in the process of forming an alliance, the Midnighters agree to just, y'know, help out with the Midnight Club's time travel problem by sending some strong help their way? "Hey, <playername>, I have this thing I'd like you to do for our Primal Earth allies...." And if we add that the Midnighters and Midnight Club officially start working together at the end of Night Ward, then why couldn't they also ask level 50 Praetorians to go help out the Primals with this Dark Astoria mystery that's cropping up? Praetor Duncan and Diabolique get involved, it's not like Praetoria has NO interest there. I get the reverence for the game's existing lore, but it is *not hard* to write a short mission that ties these plotlines together in a way that would allow for Praetorians to participate in Primal Earth shenanigans. And the best thing is, you don't have to do all of them! But *any* of them would provide a way for players with gold side characters to participate in more content with those characters. So if it's not hard, and it opens up gameplay for a group of the playerbase, maybe offers more player choice and value to playing other story paths, isn't that worth doing? Doesn't that grow and improve the game?
  2. I actually posted about this the other day, I'd overlooked this thread. I am 100% on board with this. For those saying it doesn't fit the lore, Vanguard are literally the ones that evacuate Praetoria at the end, and it makes perfect sense that they might take any powers division types they find and draft them in exchange for rescue. Just add a level 40 mission to praetoria where you are fighting DE mobs in Imperial City when Cole nukes the magisterium, and in the aftermath of that, Dark Watcher or somebody shows up and recruits you in exchange for offering you safe passage to certain areas in PC. The War Zone makes sense because Vanguard has recruited you in exchange for securing your evacuation (and it gives you access to the last praetorian story arc) and hey, while we're at it, Kallisti Wharf is flush with Praetorian refugees. Let us bounce around there too. If you're gonna complain about lore, that's just lack of effort. There are always ways to write around lore problems. And to the person that mentioned striga, we don't have to open up ALL co-op zones. Striga isn't exactly a co-op zone anyway, there's no unifying faction that is working with both heroes and villains, heroes and villains can just both go there for different mission arcs. It's not exactly the same model as the war zone. (It's also set during a level range where praetorians already aren't hurting for content, whereas RWZ gives praetorians access to mission content that both continues their story and also gives a route in-game for levelling to 50.
  3. Maybe the Aura could change. For example, the electrical clone gets the crackling electricity aura, but is otherwise identical to you.
  4. One of the summoning animations could spawn the clones overlaying your own frame before they split off in various directions, so they appear to phase out of you. It'd be super cool.
  5. So one of the big things about Praetoria were the factions and the moral choices, but when it came down to the end of the praetoria arc, you had to basically pick one of the classic alignments and head to Paragon. And that makes sense, mechanically, content-wise, etc. Praetoria's time in the narrative is limited, after all. But a lot of us made characters that we feel would have refused to leave their home until absolutely forced to. People have been playing Praetorians to 50 through the architect, but once you're over 40, there's not much to do with them outside of the Architect system. It makes sense that Recluse and the Paragon City government would be hesitant to let Praetorians wander the streets. (Although Primal Heroes and villains get to run around Praetoria all they want, getting exploration badges and doing ouro arcs, but balancing that equation is a seperate thread.) But what about Vanguard? They're the ones that spearheaded the evacuation and the praetorian defense efforts. They evacuated the refugees, and they have a stated willingness to work with *anyone* if it helps defend the Earth. The RWZ seems like an obvious place that Loyalist and Resistance types could continue their stories as vanguard mercenaries. Just give them a little intro contact, First Ward/Doorman style, maybe tweak some of the dialogue in the RWZ arcs for Loyalist or Resistance factions, or, if that's too much of a pain, at least give us access to Borea for repeatables. Meanwhile, Kallisti Wharf is dotted with Praetorian refugees. Why not let our characters hang out amongst them, doing odd jobs for Blackwing? There could even, perhaps, at some point in the future, maybe be an arc or two for those that have chosen to remain in their previous faction? Or at least some of the hero or villain arcs could be made compatible with Praetorian characters. I mean, I have all kind of thoughts about how the Praetorian story could continue, but this feels like relatively low hanging fruit. RWZ and Kallisti are *already* high level co-op zones that allow both heroes and villains to navigate. Each faction has their own exclusive content in Kallisti, and RWZ is written to work for everybody, which should work pretty well for Praetorian refugees as well. I honestly have no idea how much tweaking would be needed to make them compatible with Loyalist and Resistance toons, but at the very least it's gotta be less than a new zone? The only thing on the RWZ arc is that I don't think the timeline quite syncs up for praetorian refugees, but you could still have Borea's repeatables. and if the Vanguard base ends up being a hub for the Batallion invasion, if the devs ever tackle that, it would be something that the refugee mercenaries could be in on the ground floor for. Anyway, these are my thoughts that I've been mulling over while exploring the cool new content in KW. Thank you for reading my ramblings.
  6. I've got a character that would love a proper nun's habit. I've got a fakey version using one of the existing hairstyles, but it's not perfect. Also, seconding other people who have requested more gender proliferation, as well as extending the ranges of a lot of the sliders. I don't really think boobs need to get any bigger in game, but they could stand to get smaller. It'd also be nice if we could make smaller and taller heroes. I feel like the boundaries on how big or small a character can get could be a little more extreme without too big of a gameplay impact. We can already make our characters larger than the game normally allows with the costume powers, let us reach those levels while being able to customize!
  7. I feel like there should be one for each arc, maybe with an extra along the way for the Statesman mission in particular. (Pallbearer? Is there already a Pallbearer badge? I feel like there is.) Maybe a "Pay to play" badge for doing any of the SSA missions, with the badge text referencing the history of how the SSAs used to be paid content?
  8. Hi! Just a thought I've been mulling over. I've got a lot of them and my classes just ended, so I'm probably gonna be posting here a lot in the next couple weeks. But let's start with a simple one. We all know that when the Signature Story Arcs, "Who Will Die?" and "Pandora's Box" were launched back on live, the decision was made that they would NOT include any badges, because it'd be kinda of crappy to put a badge in the game and gate it behind paid content. Perfectly reasonable decision. Well, hey, that stuff isn't pay to play anymore. It's just content in the game! Everybody has access to it! Don't you think it's time we get some badges that relate to some of the biggest in-game events that happen? Of all the missions in the game that award badges, isn't it a little weird that the one where Statesman freakin' dies isn't one of them? Is anybody else on board with this? Any ideas for badge names? What do you guys think? It seems to me like such an easy and obvious thing to add.
  9. But seriously, let us not forget that the reason Elite Bosses exist in the first place was so that squishy and support ATs would be able to solo content while levelling.
  10. Followed by the next rung up, an Elitest Boss. Not to be confused with an Elitist Boss, which is a normal boss but he refuses to fight you because of your sociopolitical standing.
  11. All I know is that my gut says maybe.
  12. Yeah, this is what I meant, but honestly I had zero interest in going back to the early days so I paid absolutely no attention at the time. I just have a vague feeling like I saw somebody mention that there was a server that was set up to resemble the game pre-ED or something along those lines.
  13. There are three elements to this: The system in terms of design, the system in terms of lore, and the practical implementation of the mechanics. In terms of game design: Look, Ideally, every contact would have enough missions to fill their contact bar and every mission would count towards the contact bar exactly once. But that isn't how it is and it would require a huge amount of effort to restructure the entire contact/story arc system. Which means you're ending up with some contact bars unfilled or partially filled, which isn't satisfying design to me. Maybe I'm the only person in the world that feels that way, but it's how I feel. It's not like the unfilled contact bar represents "you just can't develop a relationship with that character". There are specifically characters who never become "friends" or "confidants" even if you fill their bar all the way. The actual end-point for each progress bar is different from person to person. But the presence of a progress bar suggests....y'know, progress. Which is frustrating to me to see incomplete without any way to "finish" it. But at the very least, you definitely should be able to gain the progress that is possible though the arcs that are available, and seriously, your contacts should remember you, because... In terms of lore: Yeah, sure, you're rewriting your interactions with the contact. You retain your experience, your souveneir, but in principle, it's possible somebody else could overwrite your history with that character, except...in every case where it's applicable, other story arcs react to the changes you made when you went through the Ouro arc. For example, If I do Dark Astoria, and then go back and do Darrin Wade's arc in flashback for the first time, and then do DA again, Sigil will react differently on the replay than she did originally, because she remembers me beating her up for Wade now. I have CHANGED THE PAST, and can verify that the change stuck, But if I go talk to Wade, we're strangers, even though that's the same change: You only beat up Sigil and Kadabra *because* Wade asked you to. I have very little doubt that in the head space of the average player, once they go to the time travel place and time travel to change the past and rescue Percy from the Circle of Thorns, in their head, now, that is a thing that happened in the world and they did it. Going to talk to whichever contact and having them say they don't know you is a break in continuity that they tolerate, I don't think it's the intent of the game developers that "Oh, somebody came along and undid what you did but some of the details stick around because they show up when you do later arcs but it's wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff and that's why your contact doesn't remember you even though they're the one that told you to do the thing somebody else yelled at you over." I feel like it's way more likely the system was just implemented in a simple way with minimal effort. Which brings me to... In terms of code mechanics: I know it's possible for an Ouro arc to add progress to the original contact bar, because it *worked that way* for awhile. I don't know how feasible it is to have Ouro add contacts. But If nothing else, they could make it so you can add more contacts by just finding and talking to them, which is how at least some of the contacts work anyway. Adding them manually would be a pain in the butt, but it's better than nothing. Also we should be able to unlock Mender costume parts.
  14. Actually at the end of his arc Twilight's son says he has to go to the future to determine if the changes you made had the desired effect. Which means it does HAVE an effect, it just might not be the one he's hoping for. That is, in fact, the entire point of the Menders in the first place. They're trying to manipulate the past to ensure that the coming storm doesn't come to pass.
  15. So, at present, when you do an arc in Ouroboros, it enters task force mode, your progress bar with that contact is emptied, and at the end of the arc, your contact bar resets to what it was before you did the arc. I understand why you have to go into TF mode, so no complaints about that. But....You're supposed to be changing the past, right? If you do the arc, other storylines respond as if you have done that arc. So shouldn't the contact that sent you on it, like, remember you? I'd like to propose that doing a story arc in Ouroboros should do two things: If you don't have the contact in your contact list, they are added to it, and if you do an arc in Ouroboros, the progress you make on the Ouro TF contact bar should be added to the actual contact bar. I'm going to confess, I have a personal motive in asking for this last thing. It really bugs me having empty or incomplete contact bars. I know. It's totally irrational, literally nobody sees it but me, but when I go to the contact list, and see those empty bars, something about it just....eats at my soul. But doing all those arcs in the progress of levelling up is also pretty tedious, and disabling XP gains to stay in a level range long enough to fill all the bars....Well, I'm sure you all know, some levels ranges are....worse than others. It'd be really nice if I could just come back and refill those bars later, when my build is more fleshed out. It would also feel better moving on if I knew that if I changed my mind I could always go back later to fill up those bars. (I'm pretty sure at one point it worked like this, but either that change is broken or got rolled back at some point, because I've been running a bunch of Ouro arcs lately and contact bars remain at "acquaintance." ) So the way I see it, this has the following benefits: 1) It's more immersive. The time travel conceit would feel more genuine if contacts are like "Hey, thanks for all your help!" rather than "Who are you again?" 2) It allows weirdos like me to placate our OCD. 3) You can fill up all the zones with contact stores! Convenience! 4) It gives people another thing to do, if they're looking for something to pass the time. Hell, in a pinch you could even add badges for filling up all the contact bars in a zone or something. I'm not sure if suggesting that is gonna make badgers love or hate me, though.
  16. It's called "Athletic Run" and it's free from the P2W vendor at level 1. (though I don't think it works until level 2?)
  17. Wasn't there another server at some point that had rolled things back further? I could swear I remember hearing something along those lines. And guys, we don't have to turn this into a server pissing contest.
  18. Oh ho, I didn't know that, thanks.
  19. The Praetorian alignments have content all the way to level 40. That's 4/5ths of the way to max level. It's frustrating to cut it off there. What's more, Praetorian content is designed around player choice, and choosing to remain in your homeland and fight to protect it should be an option. Especially since everybody "back home" seems to forget who you are once you move over to Primal Earth. (I mean seriously, Michael? You're on my contact list! You have a full bar! You're gonna act like we've never met when I walk up to you in Nova just because I've got a blue star now?) And top-level praetorian content doesn't have to be Praetorian *exclusive*.
  20. I'd love to see a 40-50 story arc about the fall of Praetoria from the inside perspective. Like, what were all those other characters doing in Praetoria while the Praetors were getting their butts whupped by the incarnates? But a trial or TF would be very cool as well. No need to make it Praetorian exclusive, either, The primals are invading anyway, and Hamidon is everybody's problem.
  21. That'd be great, too. It'd also be nice if we could access Ouro and do the Praetoria flashback missions.
  22. I honestly would like two things from the story in this game. 1) Give us a 40-50 praetorian zone. I know, I know, "ugh more Praetoria" but it really bugs me that you can get MOST of the way to max level on a Praetorian character. (I know you can get there with the AE and with exemplaring, but I'm talking about *content*.) Surely at SOME point enough time has passed for people to get over their burnout? Praetoria is an entrenched part of the game lore, I can't be the only person in the fandom that still loves it there. 2) Some kind of resolution on the Batallion/Coming Storm plotline. It could match the story dump stuff, or be completely different, I honestly don't care. I'd just like some kind of resolution. The little story arcs have been cool and all, I haven't played all of them, but the ones I have done have been great, but I'd like a little more of the epic stuff.
  23. I am also having this problem. I tried deleting config.json, it created a new config file, but the problem persists. When I first tried to install the program, I had a lot of pushback from Malwarebytes, which kept insisting the website was suspect and the program was a virus, but people on the forums were confident it was a false positive (open source code and all.) I finally got it to work and have been using it for weeks, then the other day it stopped displaying. The preview when I mouse-over the icon on the taskbar is just blank, same story if I try to alt-tab to it. I've tried repairing the install, I've tried a DnR, and I tried the fix above. I'm not sure what else to try at this point. Help? Edit: Well, nevermind. I tried deleting config.json again, and this time it worked.
  24. You're asking for new technology. putting a mosaic over naughty bits would require the game to be reprogrammed to know where the naughty bits are, whether or not they are showing to the player, and how to blur them out. That's a lot of technology that doesn't currently exist in the game. The game doesn't currently do ANY of those things, so hacking those in to the existing code of a 20 year old game without breaking anything is a huge ask for the devs. Similarly, having a bare chest option that is only available when the character has angel wings would similarly require extra work on the part of the devs. Not as much, I don't think, but still. Given the limited resources these guys have to bear on the game, if they're gonna be making any costume parts, I think basically anything should take priority. From a philosophical standpoint, yeah, I personally think male and female costumes should have parity. Anything lady figures have access to should be available to male figures and vice versa. Let the players express themselves with minimal restrictions. And it is legitimately stupid that society treats boobs different depending on the gender of the person. And honestlyh a game where your female hero can run around in pasties is barely different from one where they can run around topless. But a lot of people disagree with me on that, and this is a game aimed at a family audience, and we want to maintain a stable player base so we can still do things like hami raids and Rikti mothership assaults and such. Going way out of their way to put controversial nude costume bits is as likely to drive people away as attract them. I don't know your heart, so I can't say if you're sincere in any of your excuses for how this isn't sexual, but there are definitely people for whom doggy teats and angel boobs are fetish material.
  25. I wish all escort NPCS that are defeatable would be replaced with new Praetorian style regenerating NPCs. (coughcoughfusionettecough)
