  1. I'm a huge KISS fan as well as the more traditional comic book superheroes, so here's an older picture of my 2000 Man. Any KISS fan will recognize the name reference and the likeness is close enough even if you don't get the reference. Ace Frehley - 2000 Man: AC
  2. Thanks GM Miss, I appreciate the compliments. I didn't draw a lot of my own characters unless it for an event or something, but here are a few more Hawkbrand ones. BraveBold_01: (Somebody entered me in my own lottery, and everybody agreed it was an official entry...so... ) CANADA-01: (Hawkbrand's not a Canuck but I am, and I like to push the Canadian Holidays.) Okay this is admittedly a silly one but an SG mate suggested a Mystery lottery where the winner's prize would secretly be a M.L.P. version of themselves and wouldn't know it till I revealed the finished doodle. I hit a snag running that lottery but hate to leave a post without any artwork so I quickly fired up Hawkbrand as the Hawkbranded Pony. When that looked too flat, I added some pencil crayons to it. 3. One of the other nice things in City was that completely separate Super Groups could be linked together on their respective forum pages. Seeing as how a lot of these groups shared a lot of the same players and being a bit of an alt nut, I usually joined these other groups as well. Since my lotteries were now being run an multiple pages, I felt the need for a neutral forum avatar. This AC avatar would also act as part of the banner for my fake comic book covers. ACAvatar-01: CanadaPants-01: (Drawn in response to a compliment that "You rock, like Ben Grimm!"). All right, next up is the Hawkbrand stuff. His RP element was that he was a teen superhero, and an art student, so most of his lottery pictures were "art pieces" to be turned in as school assignments. Some of this stuff is pretty traditional, some if it is silly, but it was almost always fun. Officers-01: (An offhand request for an JLU style banner that just kind of stuck in my head, very rough but fun.) The winged silhouette in the back is my Hawkbrand character. AC
  4. Thanks Christopher, and you are right about the MMO community, I ran my lotteries in Champions Online and while I still put out a lot of art it was always a harder slog. I always told myself I'd keep doing it till it started to feel like work and I'll be honest, the feedback and appreciation in City was always more rewarding. My only real regret though is not starting earlier, I came into CoH later in the game's life and was running around on Infinity and Pinnacle long before I starting doing art for Virtue. I'm posting the odd bits and pieces now and leaving the Hawkbrand and Sector Protector stuff for later. These next three are one off pieces from various Virtue Super Groups. Recruits-01: (That's me in the background, Atomico was way more fun to draw.) Galaxy-01: (Once again I'm in the background but only because I'm huge.) Live-01: (I don't play a lot of villains but when the brain in a tank costume piece came out, I had to use it for Baron Mechanus.) The two in the background are SG mates who just happened to have similar backgrounds. AC
  5. I joined a smaller and tighter knit Super Group as The Flaming Yank and while most of his posts were edited screen caps, I did a few doodles for that group as well. I later joined a task force specific Super Group as Galvanic Man and did his pictures up like a War Journal. USA-01: Squadron-01: Alienix-01: Alienix was Galvanic Man's sort of girlfriend but my real life one as well. Alienix is also the Warshade in the previous photo. AC
  6. All of the original text is long gone so I can't really explain the doodle names, but they were all based on symbolic images. BlackasPitch-01: The Memento ones were done after the closure announcement and feature the heroes from multiple Super Groups. Memento-01: This last one was made as a lot of CoH heroes were being remade over in Champions Online as a fake promotional poster. CoC01: AC
  7. Hello everybody. I'm Agent Canada and have given away a lot of free CoH character art over the years, but these were never commissions or even full art piece. They were doodles made with whatever pens, pencils and markers happened to be on hand, they were always drawn on standard 8.5 X 11 photocopy paper and with rare exception they were always black & white. I began offering the free drawings as a way to combat my anxiety, then quickly came up with the themed lottery format to keep it fresh and organized. I've drawn quite a lot of SG mates but posting them all would be pointless as some of the heroes no longer exist and some of the players wouldn't be around anymore. I am going to post those that have my characters in them though as they would still be relevant. With the exception of the first batch, I tried to add a little role play element to the nature of the lottery. The Red Automaton was a highly advanced android who lost his memories after a vicious battle and a lot of his pictures represented his "broken memories". Origin-01: SeasonsGreetings: CrestedMoon-01: AC
  8. Infinity was my first server and where Agent Canada was born, so it always had a place in my heart. I seemed to have the worst luck finding an active Super Group there though and ended up babysitting a lot of dead ones. Still I made sure to get AC leveled and to hold the torch at closure. I was a little distraught and arrived early, Infinity represented a lot better than my picture shows as the stairs got pretty full later on. AC
  9. I went to Pinnacle to join a tribute group on purpose, no shame, it was some of the best times I ever had in this game. We eventually got busted and made generic, the whole super group, but like I said it was some of the best times. I was still new to the game and really wanted to impress them so I made the one character I figured no one would, Green Lantern Tomar-Re. It was a pretty good likeness too, got lots of compliments form Green Lantern fans. Not going to name the group but they know who they are, lol. AC
  10. Started on Infinity, migrated to Pinnacle and loved it but followed an SG mate to Virtue when the Pinnacle group crashed. I remained active on all of those servers but was most successful and remained on Virtue till closure. I'm best known as Hawkbrand, The Flaming Yank, and The Red Automaton on Virtue. AC
  11. I don't use dA much anymore, but thanks for the compliments and for recognizing me. AC
  12. I've never gotten a commission of one of my CoH heroes before but because I offered a lot of free art up on the forums I do have a couple of cool Art Trades to show off. The first is a South Park style Hawkbrand, the second is an 8-bit rendition of two of my heroes and the third is an homage cover for Red Automaton. Totally different styles but I love them all. AC
  13. Hello everybody, I just spent an hour going over the art threads and am quite impressed, so I figured I'd better say hi. I go by the name Agent Canada for most things gaming and while you won't recognize me form the old CoH forums, a few of you might know me from the various private SG forums I used to belong to. I'm an amateur artist myself and used to offer free character art in themed lotteries. I ran the majority of these under the name of Hawkbrand in the A.S.T.S. supergroup, but also ran a few as All-Star Crusader in the Golden Age Heroes and finally as the Red Automaton in the All-star Legends. A few of you may even know me from the Champions Online forums, after the closure of course. Not sure if I should put a sample here, but this is my girlfriend's character. AC
  14. That was such an awesome thing to log into last night. Also it's very cool to have my Agent Canada hero immortalized in your photo. Thanks and Happy New Year Homecoming!
