  1. I cant speak behalf plant/psi but iv heard its one of the best dom combos especially for soloing. Currently thought i am playing a mind/fire and absolutely loving it. Mind control is just amazing in my opinion and amazing for soloing. I was on a MLTF with a team but asked if i can just try something and I just sat there and confused GW and she killed 2 of the other AVs for me. Fire is one of the best dom secondaries for ST damage (Fire is always a good choice) but just depends on if you are bored of fire yet. I have my mind/fire softcapped on ranged defense so its a ranged toon and i think with plant/psi is will be in melee range to get benefits of drain psyche but its your choice! I might just be partial to mind/fire cause im playing it but i might roll a plant/psi or a fire/psi soon.

  2. So i was one of those people that tried their best not getting on the fire blast train but i find myself wanting a toon that can do it all (pve and pvp). I know fire blast is king right now but i want to still keep it somewhat unique so im thinking of adding MM as a secondary. Any suggestions or even other sets that im missing that could do it all? I have a psi/em blaster sitting but got a little frusturated when i use my powers, the enemy is already dead before they get there 😞

  3. Big dom player here and never played grav. I know people say its better on a controller but i really like the hecticness of doms of so many clicky buttons and just smashing things. Anyone got a good build? Also might make another build on this for pvp as well. Thanks all!

  4. Anyone have a good Psi/WP build? Never built a WP scrapper so i dont know what and how much to slot. Im going for a cool thematic toon of "Mind over Body" style theme. If anyone have a build that they can suggest that would be awesome! thanks

  5. Wow! Thank you all for you input! So far iv realized that I love sents more than any other AT. Makes me feel like an actualy super hero rather than a power that can do one thing great but has holes, and also when you see a good sent (just like a good dom) they are usualy REALLY good. I think i am going to make a energy/energy sent and see how it goes and use KB-->KD just because i know how annoying it can get for other teammates (and i usually only play on teams).

  6. So i finally have come to the point where iv played a ton of toons that are the flavor of the month in the community. I like them all but not love them fully. The one power i have always wanted to make because it imo looks the best of all sets, and seems the most "super hero like" power is Energy blast. I know it might not be the best but i ready to settle down. Anyone have any good tips and tricks to make it work and some secondaries that pair nicely for it? Thanks!

  7. I teamed up with a elec/martial blaster that spat on the idea that only brutes can farm. I want to make one but im asking for some help for other possibly secondaires best for melee range and things along that nature. Thanks!

  8. So I used to have a spines/regen scrapper back on live and it was awesome. Since coming back to CoH, iv barely seen any scrapper at all (Mostly brutes and stalkers). I really want to make an old school scrapper that is still reliable in todays CoH. I was thinking of MA/Regen (i know all the problems with regen, but i mostly only play with teams) and im very open to other OG scrapper builds! Happy Scrapping!

2 weeks on, no replies but I have to say I'm loving this combination overall. Hit 40 now and things I've learned :

    • PBAOE Blasters are immense fun.
    • Combustion is poop. Animation is so slow it's not worth it considering it takes 7 seconds to deploy that damage too)
    • Ring of Fire isn't a terrible attack so moving the Combustion slots there makes sense. There may be better places for it to go though.
    • Burn on the other hand is wonderful. Damage is an initial burst followed by the DoT with a nice quick recharge. Scatter is a thing but that's what Ice Storm and Hotfeet are for.
    • Ice's single-target chain is great. Especially if you do it with Aim/Build-up. Paragon Protectors were being melted last night on a Manti.
    • As such not sure if I'll need Web Grenade from Mace. But the bonuses are decent enough that'll probably stick with it for the moment.
    • (Nothing to do with Ice/Fire blasters but) if the Devs wanted to fix Judgement in order to balance it a bit more they could always move the bulk of the damage into DoT and increase recharge.
    • The following macros are great for casting Ice Storm & Blizzard as PBAOEs. They live on Bar 1. The powers themselves right above them on Bar 2 and finally the "on my current target" versions live on bar 3 (for when we don't have a Tank or I don't want to run straight in because the enemies are scary).
    • /macro IS "powexec_location self Ice Storm"
      /macro BL "powexec_location self Blizzard"
/macro IT "powexec_location target Ice Storm"
      /macro BT "powexec_location target Blizzard"

So here's my current revised build based on all of this. Thanks to the p2w vendors Survival Boost I'm at softcap for Smashing, Lethal and NRG at 40. Last few sets will remove the need for that (but it'll still be nice to edge Melee and Ranged to ~40% too). Rune of Protection would be a nice thing to have. Not looking forward to meeting Malta and their Stun Grenades.

Iv never used macros and i have a ice/fire blaster sitting waiting for love but the idea of having to click to place was very annoying. Do i just type these macros in the chat while in the game? sorry if this is a dumb question, just never done it!

  10. So i have been on and off playing on my mind/nrg dominator and love it but mostly i play on teams and it just seems that people are dying much faster than i can use my full utility. I often see some dominators that really focus on some ST for AV mishs (mostly what i do). I also like the idea of a somewhat melee style "head first" type dom. I understand fire/psi was a  top tier farmer so i was thinking of rolling either a fire/ or ice/ type dom. any recommendations for secondaries? Thanks all!

  11. @Steel Of Course, and regarding the above comment about rad being somewhat click heavy, I have enough recharge to have my particle shielding on cooldown of about 30 seconds without hasten so it should be always on which give a Regen and Recovery buff so i never have end problems. When it come to Proton Therapy, I only use it in "oh crap" moments when come actually hits me but im usually up front with the tanks and holding my own. If you have any build needs i used the Rad armor build from a previous post that i cant remember the name of the person who posted it but on their fire/rad sent they solo every TF. So water is an amazing AOE for team play. Let me know if you have any questions!

  12. If i may add my opinion on this chat. So iv been playing around with some sentinel combos (Fire/Regen, Elec/Elec, Psi/Dark and Water/Rad) and to be honest my favorite by far is Water/Rad. Rad has an amazing set where it doesnt require many slots (although there are not skippable powers, they are all worth it) but honestly Im vet lvl 20 now and im keeping up survivability with most brutes and scrappers. Water is amazing primary for aoe attack. ST is okay but getting the psi mastery helps with that. Water's other strong point is that Steam spray and Gyser do fire damage and can proc with another damage so they do a ton of damage. Take it how you will but i love it!

    • Thanks 1
  13. Yeah thanks for the help everyone! i got it to 50 and at vet lvl 6 and so far i feel that its okay, not great not bad. Did notice on a MLTF the speed at which AVs were dropping without 1 blaster or scrapper on the team (mostly controllers and dominators). So it definitely helps with that but when doing just regular missions, in my opinion takes too long to take down a normal boss by myself. So i will probably have this toon as an AV Incarnate trial toon and make another for all around use. Thanks!

  14. Hey all! So i rolled my first corr (Fire/Nature) and im having a blast. I really notice the team play where i can buff teams while doing damage. All other games outside of COH i have always played a support role but wanted to get more into damage dealing and thats what brought me to corruptors (little bit of both). I paired up with a bunch of the corr for MLTF and the debuffs and -res on the AVs had us finish it in under 20 mins (only corruptor team). I know sonic is a meh set and always has been but i was curious is it is still good to play and i know iv seen a ton of /cold corruptors sweep the floor of their enemies. Any suggestions or builds? thanks!

  15. Making an alt account and want to make an ice/fire farmer build to go with my rad/fire brute farmer. I have seen some awesome ice/fire blasters that do amazing damage and a suprising amount of defense for farm. This is mainly to be able to farm faster and ultimately get influence quicker. Any build help or if someone has a build that they can post here? Thanks!

  16. @oldskool Wow thank you for that in depth explanation. I am definitely going to take all of this into consideration! I really like rad armor and it gets the job done for sure but maybe its time for SR for a change! One day i really hope they do something with dark armor because from a visual and supevillian standpoint it would be amazing theme power
