  1. I understand that mission becomes insanity if you've got 8 masterminds. Haven't seen it personally, but I can imagine the ridiculousness.
  2. There's only three left; Peregrine Island, Port Oakes, and Pocket D. Talos is now construction, and Galaxy City got meteored. I don't know what happened on redside. Unsure when this was made, and frankly I don't care enough to look in the patch notes and see if it was there.
  3. I loved the look and feel of the old foggy DA. It was creepy and quiet and awesome. The big hospital with nobody in it, still lit and working. The empty streets, with buildings and street lights that lit up, but no people, only the ghosts. But it was a really boring zone. Street sweeping at fixed levels. It was almost always too hard or too easy, depending on your level. Other than Adamastor and badges, there was no reason to go there. Except the cool factor. (Do you remember the issue they forgot the fog? You could see the city; and it was dull.) The new DA is full of great content, which pulls your character in and has lots to recommend it. It is 50/end game content and will attract a lot of players once they get that high. It has a great look of its own, too, very Cthulhulic horror. It's stories also tie in to the First Ward/Night Ward stuff, with the Talons of Vengance. (Where do they go for 20 levels?) So, both have things to recommend them. And both are in the game, so we win!
  4. There's a lot of concern and misunderstanding going on around this issue. Here's what I know: The current City of Heroes client is a 32-bit application. The tool used to run it, wine, is also currently a 32-bit application. MacOS's next version "Catalina" will be dropping support for 32-bit applications. This means - and this has been tested - that the CoH client will not run on Catalina. In the Linux world, there is a 64-bit Wine. Sadly, Windows uses CPU registers differently in 64-bit apps than OSX uses the CPU registers. Windows regularly has applications use a register that is reserved for the OS to use on OSX. Since Wine works by allowing the application to run natively, the Windows client would use that CPU register, which is not allowed by MacOS, so the app can't run. In short: The 32-bit CoH client isn't supported any more, and the 64-bit CoH client isn't compatible with OSX. What can you do? 1: Stay on Mojave. As long as what you have works, you can stay there. This will not be possible if you have apps that require an upgrade, or buy a new Mac that requires Catalina. 2: Run under Boot Camp. The reboot to Windows is annoying, and having to buy Windows is annoying, but the game does run very well under Boot Camp. 3: VMWare Fusion does run the game acceptably. I have personally tested this, and it allows CoH to run fine. It requires purchase of VMWare and of Windows, though. It does not run as well as Boot Camp, but is playable. I have not tried VMWare running a Linux running Wine to run the client, but that might avoid the need for a Windows license, but will be more complex to make happen. The person responsible for Island Rum is working on a solution, too, but hasn't got it working yet. It will likely be a little bit complicated and have some overhead, but he is hoping to have CoH running under a Virtual Machine. This solves the CPU Register problem by virtualizing the CPU and uses Linux as the operating system so he can include it without needing a Windows license. But it means a lot of moving parts: Virtual Machine software running Linux running the Wine windows replacement to run the 32-bit Windows CoH client. Hopefully Soontm, but there's not word on a success of this yet. That's the latest I know. Hopefully there will be a usable solution, and the folks who made Island Rum are actively looking at it. But that's all it is now, is a plan. Until then, it's don't upgrade to Catalina, run Boot Camp, or run VMWare.
  5. Very cool! How did you get fireworks? Some of us were looking for some and didn't find anything we liked. Those are great!
  6. There's an "arts" channel on the CoH: Homecoming Discord that gets regular use. I agree a forum would be useful, though. CoH always inspired wonderful art!
  7. I would have watched way more Robert Palmer videos if they had catgirls in them. :)
  8. Yes, there is a global channel: TankHQ I created it just before I posted the message, to make sure it existed for us! :) Come when you can and we'll get you slotted into a team.
  9. A friend reminded me that today should be Tanker Tuesday! And so it shall be! I'm going to be on Excelsior! with a tanker to play with everyone at 9E/8C/7M/6P tonight! Meet up in King's Row by the gate to Independence Port! (If there's more than one King's Row, chose the highest numbered one.) There will be tanks and tanking, and people to meet! There's a global channel called TankHQ for us to meet and organize in! All tanks are welcome!
