  1. The History of Seven Years of Blood - The Hiatus and Renaming - After the trial and conviction of Able MacIntyre, the remaining members of the band began to pursue their own interests. Jacqueline attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto to continue her singing career, while Yves enrolled at McMasters music department. Dominique and Michelle both headed west, attending the University of Saskatchewan. It was here that they met two people that would be the beginning of Seven Years of Blood. Yves became friends with faculty member Marcus Cromwell, who he learned was a former Ti-cat running back for six years. A hip injury ended his career and as he held a masters degree in mathematics, he took on a position at his old university. Marcus was also well known at the clubs for his DJ and rapping ability. The two began talking, and an idea formed in Yves mind. That idea must have spread, because Dom and Michelle became friends with a 20 year old Raven Running-Cloud who had also just enrolled at the U of S. Raven was a stunning bassist, only coupled by the fact she was 100% blind. After Dom, Michelle and Raven met and began talking did the text messages start. Michelle came up with the name, which has a more medical description (seven years is the total time put together that a woman goes through her menstrual cycles). The focus of their music also changed, and for the first two albums they changed their sound completely from what they were as Blanc Noir. This sound helped propel the newly formed group to gain recognition in Europe and Japan. With albums called New Beginnings and Naked Truth (for which the album's cover was banned in the United States as all members are naked with instruments strategically placed) they were compared with Sevendust and even The KLF. With Yves' more raw vocals and the addition of Marcus' quick rap beats, the band began to take form. But it wouldn't be the end.
  2. The History of Seven Years of Blood - The Able MacIntyre albums - After graduating, the four decided to try cutting an album under a major record label before pursuing any form of post secondary education. During this time, they met and were joined by Able MacIntyre, a guitarist, vocalist and also played the bagpipes. This era of the band is little spoken by the other members, as Able would later be arrested for several murders, using the cover of the band's touring dates as a way to plan his dark side and using the after party's of the band's concerts to pick his vicitims. Some history also came into play here, as Able was the son of Angus MacIntyre, a Scottish ex-pat who during the FLQ Crisis of 1970, joined the FLQ as an explosives expert. Angus would be chased and fought against by Dominique's father Jean Pierre Turgeon (as Canadien) along with members of a vigilante group known to the media as The Heroic League. During the 1980s, Angus escaped prison and kidnapped Dominique. He was eventually chased down by the duo of the Mannequin (Donelda Stewart) and the Bowhunter (Lewis Morgan). During the time Able was a member of the band, they released three albums, one of which shortly after Able was arrested. They were titled Nova Scotia, Up Yer Arse and Merde. The band at this time was compared again to Green Day, but also with the Real Mckenzies and Captain Tractor which definitely came as an influence from Able.
  3. The History of Seven Years of Blood - The High School Years, a.k.a. Blanc Noir - At the age of 15, Dominique Turgeon and her family moved to Montreal from Laval. Dom was enrolled in a small high school in the west side of the city and soon became friends with Michelle Villeneauve and Yves and Jacqueline Manderville. Jacqueline and Yves had both already made their mark in the school with their musical prowess; Jacqueline as a vocalist with the school's choir and Yves with the school's band as a pianist. Michelle was also a member of the high school band as the drummer, and eventually Dominique joined as a guitarist. It was shortly after the band's first performance that the four got together and decided to form a band of their own. Calling themselves Blanc Noir, the band's initial sound was akin to Hootie and the Blowfish, Our Lady Peace and Green Day. It was here that the four managed to cut their own debut self titled album and quickly gained attraction throughout Quebec. The quartet would be heralded as the French Canadian Our Lady Peace, Moist and Watchmen. Two albums would come out of this during their high school years; the self titled debut and Graduation.

  5. The woman in the black and red clad uniform pulled the earbuds out of her ears and stuffed them into her coat pocket, just listening to the conversations for a moment. She took a few sips of her cider and sighed before muttering something in French and reaching up to pull the mask completely off. It was like a huge sigh of relief, doing that. Like taking off a pair of shoes after a long day. Here, maybe she could find a place between her nightly routines and just be Dominique Turgeon. [[OOC: Anyone musically inclined or follows symphonic metal bands might recognize Dom as a guitarist with a Montreal band named Seven Years of Blood.]]
  6. The door opened to the establishment and the black and red clad figure stepped into the low light of the pub. It had been eight long years since this particular vigilante had run through the streets of Paragon City, she was a little older, a little wiser and a lot less hot headed. Stepping up to the bar, Canadienne pulled up the mask to reveal only her mouth and nose and gave a long sigh of relief. "A pint of cider, please," she asked with a hint of a Quebecois accent. "An' some food. Fries and gravy if you have them, please."
  7. This has been giving me a lot of memories and the number of screenshots I've taken is huge. However, there's nothing like a selfie with a massive octopus in the background.
