  1. In my experience, Plant/Storm relies more on just Confuse/Immobilize and if you come up against mobs that are resistant to those you're in for a rough time. Earth/Storm offers a bit more variety of control, but lacks the simplicity of Seeds of Confusion which is what allows Plants to be so dominant.   2. Okay after doing my Grav/TA, I found your missing recharge. I moved a bunch of slots around so it may definitely need tweaking to be more suitable. The big bonuses I found were - Downgrading Superior Will of the Controller to just regular WotC. This allowed me to steal slots and make Brawl another 10% purple and - Splitting slots around to find more 5% bonuses So, Perma Overgrowth, except that Hasten only has one slot now and a .4 second downtime. You could fix that by stealing the recharge out of Indomitable Will, but I thought that half a second without hasten was worth having more uptime on your mez protection. Also all your KB protection is gone. I think I switched some of those slots to +resist IOs, as that became the secondary focus of what I was doing. Anyway let me know what you think! Cheers
  3. So I had an idea that I wanted to wormhole spawns into oil slick and set them on fire. But Wormhole has a 90 second recharge, and Oil Slick is even longer at 180. This would not do, but the idea persisted. So I built a build with all the recharge I could muster. All the recharge in the friggin' world! I call it "Hyper Velocity". Wormhole has a 22 second recharge time, and Oil Slick is at 45 seconds. Even GDF is under a minute now. And that's before you cast an attack chain with Arcane Bolt, Propel, and Disruptor Blast that all have +recharge procs in them! But I slotted brawl (with Hecatomb!). I took all the procs out of Acid Arrow. I have no defense and no resistances. It's, frankly, a mess of a build and quite expensive. But hey, I don't think it's ever been done before!   5. So those Force Feedback +recharge procs only have a chance to happen when you use the power. So if you're constantly using Gale and Lightning Storm, you'll definitely see the bonus. But while I see you have Gale slotted to make use of Knockdown, I think you'll probably have better things to do in combat. So your recharge is definitely not as high as it looks in the builder, and could be significantly lower depending on proc rate. Rune of Protection offers great resists, but it's on a super long cool down so is not always there for you. As a /Storm, I'd encourage you to build for Ranged Defense, and then AoE defense. Soft cap is 45%. If you have that and use Hurricane to cancel out melee attacks, you're pretty survivable (though as a controller, the one hit that gets through could still one shot you). That Soulbound Allegiance proc should not be in a pet with a 900 second cool down. Put it in Umbra Beast if you want it to do more damage. Otherwise skip it. As a /Storm controller, if you're using Freezing Rain, Tornado, and Lightning Storm for damage, make sure they have quick recharge times. Also there are I think 2 different -res and 2 different +dmg procs that can go in Freezing Rain. Put those in, those things add up quickly. You have very little End Gain. If you're going to use the Performance Shifter proc in Stamina, slot that plus the End Mod from Performance Shifter, and then one more regular End mod IO. That will give you the most recovery you can get slotting Stamina. Otherwise drop the proc and just two slot it with 2 regular End mod IOs Overall, you're finding good sets and procs! You've just got to have a clearer picture of what you're building for.
  6. There's buttons in the upper right. Middle bottom brings up the Incarnate screen. That's really about what your build plays like and what you think it should do better. No End all the time? Go Cardiac. Recharge? Agility. Etc. I think there's an Incarnate guide in the general guides forum!
  7. I just did a quick mod of my Ill/Traps, so powers and order and all that are not the best! Anyway, no purple sets in this build, but you could use those to up recharge even more. As it is, the build gives you 1 second of downtime on Hasten, and 3 seconds of downtime on Phantom Army. That's pretty close for (relatively) cheap.   8. You're 7 seconds over Perma-Hasten and within 2 seconds of Perma-Overgrowth. I think you've done a great job already! My real concern (besides lack of defenses) is that while Volcanic Gasses/Entangling Aura/World of Confusion sounds pretty amazing, Aura and WoC only work on minions and lts, and Volcanic Gasses is only up once a minute (because you're not going to be taking a full minute to kill a spawn, right?). This means your big trick is only going to be available on about 1/3rd of the spawns assuming a 20 sec TTK. Near perma Overgrowth is going to reduce that TTK in big teams even more. So in my opinion, stick with the huge recharge bonus for your maximum Overgrowth, but look for something else to hang your hat on besides the VG/EA combo
  9. Note: LotG Global Recharges are *not* uniques, and Mids would tell you if you try to slot a unique you've already slotted. Also they don't overlap with the regular 7.5% recharge bonus of other sets. This means that you can have 5 of them in every build for +37.5% recharge if you have 5 different powers that take Defense sets. As far as the build - I generally start with an idea of what I'm building towards, what set bonuses I want to see. Usually on a controller that's to get as much global +recharge as I can so I can use my bigger controls more often. After I squeeze out as much recharge as possible, I move on to things like Smashing/Lethal Defense that increase my survivability. Right now, this build is all over the place, some sets are trying to get Ranged defense and others Recharge and I don't even know what else really. Some thoughts: - Mez resistance does not keep you from getting mezzed, that would be Status Protection. Mez resistance lowers the amount of time you stay mezzed, but it's really not worth building for as 100% mez resistance doesn't even cut the time in half - You're slotting a lot of different set triples to maximize Accuracy. Don't. Complete your sets and you will be raking in the incidental bonus accuracy globally instead of having to waste slots on each power. If you're still feeling like you're missing too much, pick up tactics. - You've got the Steadfast +3% Def IO but not the Gladiator's Armor one. Get both. - Acrobatics is not going to help you against holds, except maybe incidental low power ones. People get it to counter Knockback, and that's probably not worth a power slot on a control build. Mez them before they get the chance to do anything. -Fade is a good bit of Defense and Resistance. You want that up as much as possible. Try to get the recharge closer to the 60 second duration

  11. Yes, it is possible! My two Plant/Storm builds are within 2 seconds and 4 seconds of Perma-Hasten, and that leaves Carrion Creepers on a recharge of about 105 seconds compared to 120 second duration.   16. EDIT 10/2/2022 - CHECK OUT POSTS #40 and #41 TO SEE MY LATEST BUILD FOR JENNY! Just thought I'd share my level 50 build for you guys. Leveling this build can be a bit of a pain as your TTK speed is slow until you get all your AoEs together, and you'll never be that great at killing bosses quickly. But once you do get your AoEs, you can set your solo difficulty to no bosses, x8 spawns and never look back. Only things to watch out for are Longbow Wardens, Rikti Mentalists, and Nemesis - they're all going to rebuff your confuse opener which can make things more difficult. Seeds>Roots>Freezing Rain>Tornado to destroy a spawn in seconds. Throw in a Lightning Storm when available, and you'll be moving right along. One thing on the non-purple build - there's only two procs in Freezing Rain because I wanted the recharge bonus from the Positron set. I fixed that for the purple build as Freezing Rain procs are the best.

  18. Not all Controller Immobilizes are made equal, however Plant's Immobilize does in fact apply the Rooted effect which counters KB, KU, and Flying powers! Plant/Storm is my main, Seeds>Roots>FR>Tornado>Lightning Storm melts all minions and Lts in a spawn. Get enough global recharge and you can do that about every 20 seconds (LS isn't that fast, bu the first four are), which means by the time you're done casting you can start the chain again on the next spawn. Also using set IOs, Plant/Storm can cap Ranged def without any purple sets (ranged AND AoE def with purples), and your hurricane takes care of your melee defense. It's a pretty amazing combo.
