Again, after playing controllers, doms, and everything else heavily , and after being one of the biggest farmers on Freedom server when it was live ( my brute was arguably the fastest farmer in the game tested by extensive competition) If you want to farm, and you want a controller, the best way to go is fire/kin with plant/kin being very close or just as equal depending on what map you are doing . Far second is fire/rad ( I did farm with fire/rad too but it's never near enough a fire/kin). But if you really want to speed your farming and you want a controller type, and you want all map types , then , sorry, but the Dominator is where you want to go Fire/Kin is truly a king but only in open mops with mobs extensively spread out. A Dominator has much greater control than a controller , so he can deal with maps with not so much safety as a controller requires to survive That is the only reason Dominators can be so reliable for farming with great speeds, because of domination Fire/Kin tops on open maps, but dominators on almost any map can do it very well I had farming speed competitions over and over on Freedom My plant/thorns fully decked out with IOs was far faster than a fire/kin when an assortment of maps were used, but the standard map on P Island to farm with fire/kin was always looking like it was made for fire/kin and it was too good. When mission architect came out , the BRUTE emerged as the ONE SS/FIRE brutes outclassed any and all other farmers in the game when mission architect came out Concerning plant for farming -- Now, I know confusion diminishes some XP but, BIT BUT... the speed of your kills makes up, MORE THAN MAKES up for that. Since you are clearing the maps faster and resetting faster, the fire/kin is getting behind even if he has no xp/kill penalties due to enemies being confused Nothing damages those minions faster than seeing their own bosses owning those minions , you are just there to provide support and additional damage to ensure the quick end. Now plant is a damage monster in it's own right, position your thorns damg angles just right and you will clear the group in no time. OMG I am so glad I found this forum today .

Before I write the bulk of my contribution -- Remember that Domination builds half way similar to Fury for brutes Every time a dominator attacks, domination builds up and builds up Unlike a brute, you don't get domination built up when you get hit If you are after permanently domination , the best way is to go for it via the use of IOs. The IO sets is really what you want for dominators Get that recharge stacked up and off you go I know about Dominators... I played the game for 7 years and I had at least 4 fully decked out Dominators and others that were not yet decked out fully by the time the servers closed I LOVED EVERYTHING as they were. The hold times , delicious, domination is HEAVEN (OR HELL IF you are a villain). Perma domination is the only way I would ever play dominators So, it was always my priority to gear it with full IOs, the best IOs, for the best build possible. To me it makes no sense and not anywhere near fun to play Domi without permanent domination. Plant thorns was my favorited UNTIL ... yep, UNTIL DARK/DARK came out Plant thorns was my farming toon, dark/dark was my top , earth/earth was my SMASHING like a Dominator brute build, earth thorns was my ultra defense debuff character , and so on ... I would change this -- I want IOs specifically for Dominators , to boost holds, damage, recharge and so on.

I started playing City of Heroes in 2005 @Voltak on live servers and I played it up until closing time. However, as soon as CoH made it possible to play on a Mac, I did just that. Just today I found out about COH being back in this manner, which I admire and appreciate the loving work done to accomplish this. I am trying to see if I can get it to run on my M1 Mac. I only pray it does . OMG , I am so happy to find you guys. God knows I spent a fortune of time AND MONEY playing this game throughout the years. I bought every costume and everything sold by NCSoft for the game, a true loving fan. The best game ever made for the computer, hands down. I long for the game every year, every month, every week.
