  1. It's very much in the fuzzy past, but I am pretty sure I got CoH as a Christmas gift end of 2004, and absolutely loved it. Played exclusively on Virtue, and first cape was Titanium Tiger (Katana/Regen Scrapper). Played a ton of alts, and never got any of them above level 30. Absolutely LOVED CoV when it came out, and my main became Savage Instinct (Dark/Regen Brute, reborn as a Savage/Regen Brute in Homecoming). Ended my subscription when I went to college in 2006, though picked it up again over summer holidays a few times and always had a blast. Was keen to dive back in again after I moved to Australia end of 2012, and was gutted to find out the game had just been sunset (seriously, I could not have had worse timing). I actually found out about Homecoming from a comment on a Youtube video, of all places - was listening to the CoH main theme and saw someone posting that the game was playable again! It was surprisingly but wildly emotional to boot up the game again and walking into Atlas Park for the first time in over a decade - my current main is Motive Power (Energy/Energy Blaspper), and I play on Everlasting with too many alts. Ironically for a player who solos 99% of the time, I think the thing I love most about the game is the community. There is a special sauce vibe to the way that players in the game interact that I find just delightful. I still remember the high level cape that dumped a bunch of inspiration on an alt of mine just because they liked my backstory and costume. Every time I have teamed it's been a blast, and the fact that the game even still exists at all still warms my heart in a way I find hard to put into words. City of Heroes is a special game... it has that je ne sais quoi, and it keeps me coming back 21 years later.
  2. EDIT: @lemming explained the solution - the mission owner is required to be level 50 for this option to appear! Has anyone else hit trouble getting the Nemesis version? I've completed the mission redside and blueside (and have both badges), but only get the starting two dialogue options for Positron when I run the mission.
  3. I'll be honest - I actually miss TOs in the game! While I love 90% of the QOL changes Homecoming has made from live, I do miss the feeling of progress when you first start getting DOs, and then SOs (and IOs were a fun 'S-tier' bonus that you'd sometimes get enough to build). I certainly wouldn't want to send everyone back to the slog, but would be grand if there were an option to toggle back the old enhancement scaling at the P2W Vendor (maybe with some other benefit a la the Influence bonus w/ XP pausing, if that makes folks happy).
  4. Hopefully positive feedback belong in this forum also! I'm a recently returned player (previously had played Issues 1-9ish), and I wanted to give a massive endorsement to the quality of life features and all the changes that make the game more accessible to casual players. I love the idea that I can access basically all the game content without worrying too much about character optimization, and will be able to fully kit out multiple level 50 alts without having to grind for days to afford a decent set of enhancements. Also loving the free respecs, costume slots, quick alignment change options, and SG base features! I've skimmed the forums and seen a few people complaining that the game is too easy or flexible, or that some people are able to PL too easily, and wanted to provide a counter to that. I love that almost any powerset combination/AT is viable for casual solo play! Keep up the awesome work dev team! -AE
  5. G'day team! I played Virtue Blueside from launch until Issue 3. My main was Titanium Tiger (Katana/Regen Scrapper). Took a $ related break until CoV launch, and then played mostly Redside (still Virtue) from Issue 6-9. Main was Savage Instinct (Dark/Regen Brute). Absolutely loved the community and RPing - spent as much time chatting with other toons as I did in missions. I reluctantly canned my subscription when I went off to uni, and by the time I had the time/$ resources to pick it back up in grad school the official servers had already been sunset Really sad day when I tried to re-install CoV and found that out. I had NO IDEA the community servers came back up until last year, when I stumbled across them trying to find a file of the old launch music. Now on Everlasting trying out a bunch of different toons to get a feel for all the changes since Issue 9! I gotta say, it's good to be back. -AE
