  1. Lady Gaga - Abracadabra …y’know, I always wondered if the Dirge Of Chaos would drop serious beats…
  2. ...no wonder they left. Even if they got the fish first. Reminds me, I really need to reread So Long... and probably Last Chance To See as well. I don't want to go back to Mostly Harmless, since Adams admitted he was in a thoroughly miserable, blow-it-all-up place when he wrote it. BTW, is the Eoin Colfer final-final-final-1-FINAL.pdf (2) chapter And Another Thing any good?
  3. Loki is also rumoured to make a guest appearance in these movies. To create Battleworld from the remnants of collapsing universes, Doom steals the power of the Beyonders. What if they swapped the Beyonders - who would take quite a chunk of movie to introduce - for Loki? EDIT: if they run the whole Battleworld concept, Doom's brute squad is... the Thor Corps. That's a whole lotta Hemsworths.
  4. Jody Reynolds - Tarantula
  5. At the moment, yes, because things are being a bit stressy, so 4am wakeup is normal. If I'm lucky, back to sleep by 5am, if not, have to just try and rest till my partner wakes at 7am. Things I've found that help me a bit, YMMV: HTP5 tablets, with or without Valerian extract (check for interactions, but should be OK with most things. Easy to find at most supplement/healthfood stores, probably cheaper on Amazon but check the brand) Late night short intense workout (HIIT 12 to 18 minutes) Warm drinks - decaf or herbal teas (some green teas are very much not decaf), or low-cal hot chocolate (not for diet purposes - sugar rush isn't good either) Before sleep, or if you wake up at night and your brain's fidgety, try an audiobook, relaxing music or hypnosis tape on low volume rather than doomscrolling or gaming good luck…
  6. Small casting updates: Confirmed: Wyatt Russell returns as US Agent, Anthony Mackie as Sam, the new F4 crew, and of course, RDJ. Rumoured: Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, possibly in a SHIELD flashback or her What If? Watcher incarnation Chris Evans guests as Captain Hydra (meh) ScarJo as Madame Hydra (could be fun) ...and the one bit of casting I'd be genuinely pretty pleased with if true, Lou Ferrigno as Maestro Hulk. Plot: still thin on the ground, but could be the Battleworld arc: the MCU Multiverse begins to collapse (oh, good) due to extradimensional incursions. A single, twisted merged universe survives as Battleworld, ruled over by God-Emperor Doom. Filming starts late March/early April at Leavesden. Production will be back-to-back with Secret Wars. (Nearest decent pubs if you want to try celeb spotting are the Unicorn, and the Hammer In Hand. Good name if Thor's going to drop in, I guess.)
  7. Confirmed that this ended theatrical run with $59m, making it the worst-performing of the Sony Spideyverse movies, and the only one not to beat its baseline budget. Remembering that once the theatres and distros take their cut, the studio gets maybe a third of the gross take, that's a $90m flat loss, plus marketing budget. Yikes.
  8. Cleo Sol - There Will Be No Crying
  9. The Toasters - Don't Let The B***ards Grind You Down
  10. Brothers Osborne - Ain’t My Fault
  11. I’m wondering if the guys from PennyArcade still hang out here from time to time… https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2025/01/24/dirty-one
  12. Reading up on this on Empire, it looks like either this was a royal screwup - or a lucky escape, depending on your point of view. S31 was supposed to be a new series, but between the pandemic, strikes, and cost-cutting at Paramount, it wound up being cut-and-shut into a movie. I wouldn't advise Michelle to go out and fire her agent, since there's been some solid stuff lately (Everything Everywhere bringing her first little gold guy home, plus a guaranteed double payday from Wicked, and then an upcoming Ridley Scott led Blade Runner series). But there's also been some utter tosh (Last Christmas, The School For Good & Evil... and I cordially invite you all to try watching Witcher: Blood Origin if you ever want to see a cast truly suffering. Lenny Henry doesn't even bother to hide it, with his accent going more Brummoyyy the more annoyed he gets. Me myam won't let me do moy evil blood ritual in the kitchen, ay'll 'av to go and do it in the gaaaardin... it's not faaaiiir...) Oh, and The Brothers Sun, which was decent but just didn't catch fire.
  13. So…Americans or other aliens who might consider seeing Better Man - but have no idea who Robbie Williams is. If you just think of him as a fictional popstar who happens to be a cartoon performing monkey, Robbie’d probably nod and agree. But go see it. It’s not doing well so it’s not going to be around for long in the US. So do it soon - or find the biggest TV screen and surround setup you can when it hits streaming. Because holy hellfire, that was a MOVIE. Yes, there’s all the usual rockumentary bits - humble origins, the big break, f*** ups, fights, failures, love, addiction, big success, The Big Crash, reconciliation, recovery. You know the drill. Although there’s at least one nasty emotional surprise I didn’t know, either from real life or normal movie plotlines. But I’ve not seen ANY movie in years that pours out this much raw, bitter emotion on screen, a lot of it around fear and imposter syndrome. It’s frequently Spinal Tap level funny, but also visually wildly imaginative - turning from bright stage lights to something dark, twisted, and at one point genuinely terrifying as its subject descends into paranoid madness. And unlike most rock-docs, almost nobody’s spared from caricature, criticism or visceral rage, especially not Rob himself. Perhaps it doesn’t quite stick the “making peace with yourself” landing, that’s done a little too quick and easy. But it’s one hell of a ride getting there. All this and solid tunes. GO. SEE.
  14. Dammit, now I gotta make a "Paragon By Gaslight" time travel arc...
  15. Nine Inch Nails - Perfect Drug (from Lost Highway) 🥧☕️
  16. Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
  17. Julee Cruise - Falling ☕️🥧
  18. Dammit. Well, this one hurts. Farewell to one of the most insanely inventive minds in movies (and acting, literature, art and design, and weather reporting)... the great, sadly now late, David Lynch. I've been a longtime fan ever since Twin Peaks and Wild At Heart... and Blue Velvet was a St Valentine's date movie to remember. (Still together over 20 years later.) And he was also a great collaborator, happy to advise, assist and guest on other projects, working on everything from Duran Duran gigs to Family Guy. Here's a quick bit of him as John Ford - but pretty much himself too - giving a lesson to a young Steven Spielberg... In whatever wondrous new world he finds himself, may there be damn fine coffee - and cherry pie. ☕🥧
  19. ...think you might have the wrong streaming platform there chief... You saying he should smile more? 😛 ...all right, let's skip that whole bit. Does seem like there's some better moments with Foggy and co, not quite as DARKGRIMDARKJUSTICENOPARENTSohwaitthatstheotherguy.
  20. So… we have a trailer. That Matt / Kingpin face-off… …sorry, Mayor Kingpin to you… Some handily colour coded goons - guess this season’s moved to Paragon City… Alice Cooper masked bad guy… …oh, and lots of bloody violence. Disney may have thankfully dialed up the brightness and contrast, but still dark.
  21. Postmodern Jukebox ft Kyndle Wylde - Pour Some Sugar On Me
  22. Just in case anybody needs this today... Cat Burns - know that you're not alone
  23. Jason seems to have confirmed: https://www.instagram.com/p/DEZXwnERUJ7/?utm_source=ig_embed Unless it's a rather silly elaborate fake, holding a draft script marked "For Lobo's Eyes Only" would seem to clinch it. Lobo should indeed push him into full Brian Blessed territory, but that's going to be right for that role. I've not read Woman Of Tomorrow, though, so how does that rather outsize character fit into a "True Grit-In-Space" type tale?
  24. Thanks all. After some consideration and review checking, went for the GX1050, which appears to be the 5020 and 7021's little sister (and is also available as a UK model). Hope it works out OK. May livestream the HP's execution, if I can find a big enough catapult or industrial shredder.
