Hi all! Making a return after being away for some time. I'd love to use one of the support sets that came out post sunset: either Electrical Affinity or Marine Affinity. I'm looking to run it on either a Defender or Corruptor, and I'm open on the blast set as I know I'll primarily be supporting. Which would you recommend to someone returning to the game? Does one shine more over the other in Endgame/4* content? Thanks in advance!

This was super helpful, thank you! I like Water and Storm Blast, good to hear Elec Affin still leaves some room for those sets to work.

Electrical Affinity has always interested me. Seems to have a TON of tools at it’s disposal and can really be a force multiplier for their team. I hear it is a REALLY busy set though (which I like) that being said, are there any secondaries that are less busy that seem to have synergy with it? For example, I really like Water Blast, but pairing the two together might not be the best since WB is very busy itself. Elec Blast seems like an obvious choice. Just blast when you can and end drain. Sonic Blast seems interesting in that you are debuffing with the -res you do. Seems less active. Dark Blast potentially? Kind of a “utility” blast set as well. I’m completely open to recommendations though!

So I’ve been leveling a Dark Armor/Elec Melee Tanker and it is just one of the coolest looking combos. You basically look like an Electric Storm. Lightning Rod in with OG running and thunder clapping. You’re keeping a ton of baddies on the ground and/or stunned.
-
I agree. What are some of your favorite Defender primaries to have on your team?
-
Nice man! Was this a Tanker?
-
This info is all gold, I appreciate it man. As someone who has ran Savage a ton, are there any specific secondaries you feel gel/synergize well with it specifically on a Stalker? My Sav/Bio Brute just feels like a great pairing on that AT. I know a lot love Elec/Shield on Stalker. I could see Savage/Shield being great for the same reasons. New Stone Armor seems sweet as well.

Elephant in the room: I know Kinetic Melee is a low performer. It needs the Fiery Melee/Battle Axe treatment. That being said, I dig the animations, the mix of ranged and melee it provides and the soft control through knockdowns. In your experience, what AT’s/combos do you feel mesh well with KM? A KM/Ice Armor Stalker seems promising. Both Ice Armor and KM do -dmg to enemies, so there is some synergy there. Icy Bastion seems really good, and burst is 100% AOE crit from hide. Any other secondaries that stick out to you? My other thought is a Kinetic Melee tanker, to take advantage of those AOE increases. Repulsing Torrent can function as a taunt and you have some nice CC. Shield could be a good pairing (Shield Charge + Burst), and it does -dmg as well. Really torn on a primary though. Dark/KM/Soul could be pretty sweet. Maybe Fire Armor/Elec Armor or Rad Armor to help offensively? I’d love to hear your thoughts and how you make Jazz Hands work. I dig it as kind of an “Air Bender/Doctor Strange” combo type of hero.

Same here, my Sav/Bio Brute is my favorite brute. The way Sav and Bio’s DOTs ramp damage with fury is amazing. @Frosticus I’ve been torn on running Sav on either a Scrapper or Stalker next. Do you feel it really shines on a Stalker the most?
-
I’ve been torn between running Kat/Bio and Battle Axe/Bio myself. I know you play some Scraps on the high end. Do you prefer one over the other?
-
I think FF/Water probably also has the added benefits of being a great combo for endgame HM content.
-
I’ve done Dark/Staff. I’m curious how Dark/MA would compare. Both are stupidly tough, as you both have noted.
-
Thanks for the info. I got it because that was OP’s question to you, comparing the two. So I was interested as well.
-
You like your Stone/MA more than your Fire/MA?
-
I have one brute that I play fairly consistently, and it is my Savage/Bio. The DOT’s from both Savage Melee and Bio Armor help ramp up fury and it is a nice little synergy. The same could probably be said for Sav/Elec and Sav/Dark though.
