Still, Very Thematic!
-
Cranebump, this review fills me with joy. Thank you for running Allegedly, Your Death - and I'm particularly glad you played it with a thematically-suited character. Best regards!

PW searches for level 12-20 story-focused mission arcs
sponazgul replied to Police Woman's topic in Mission Architect
Hey, I'm enjoying reading your journey. I try to make AE arcs that scale down and scale up - If you don't mind playing Shadows over Brickstown (I forget the arc number, but my global is @First of Equals) I've done my story arc EXPLODING PLANET (arc 22784) a few times with very low level characters, so it might be a good run for you. If you try it out, don't be discouraged if missions fail here and there, or if the planet explodes. Sometimes, the planet explodes. -

Zhym! Thank you! I'm glad that people are resonating with that bit, in particular. -

Allegedly, Your Death - arc 65297, Vigilante 4-mission arc

Kyksie, thanks for running the arc, and the feedback here in the forum thread, and thank you for explaining what the Ocelot Rule is --- I totally get that. I know the actual game (particularly the Dark Astoria arc) has a lot of that dialog as decision tree things - basically for the Hero vs the Villain response. I acknowledge your assessment on it being poor form, and I appreciate your exception for comedy (since this arc was kind of whimsical) -
Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
sponazgul replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
This is an outstanding idea, and I hope that everyone has a solid time. I'm a big proponent of people using AE for stories. -
Colleagues, Just created a new mission arc, called Allegedly, Your Death, it's arc number 65297 I make use of some upper-end villain groups, so I think it might be a challenge if you aren't in your 40s, level-wise. But the mission arc storyline expects an experienced vigilante with a well-seasoned Rogues Gallery, thematically. If you try it out, please provide feedback and recommendations for your own arcs for me to try. (I just published it, and of course I then noticed at least one typo, and I need to fix a game mechanic in the final map - it's a minor thing) Thanks in advance,

Servers crashing, early am US 2/20/24?

The updates are appreciated, thanks! -
Oops, I forgot to respond to your question about Dopplegangers (although I did answer you in-game earlier) Anyone - lets say hypothetically you were working on an AE arc that would feature dopplegangers of whomever is playing your mission. For Bosses, Captives, Allies, etc (but not general mobs) you can select Doppleganger under Standard group menu for an NPC, and then you can mess around with some options - have the costume reversed or inversed, or black and white. And you can select random powers for the doppleganger if you want...

Ah, I appreciate the detailed response. The $name thing caught me elsewhere as well, but I had fixed that. I'll get to it on the description of The Prime (the variable works in system text and dialog, but not in descriptions, it seems.) I'll work on re-ordering the objectives so that the clues stack up correctly. You're right that I didn't have the objectives in the mission creator list in order, some of them got created ad hoc. I appreciate this feedback, and I'll working on correcting things. Thanks again for the feedback!

NICE! I'm glad you played the mission and got to team with Maple Grove, Canada's super service! (I have to confess: several of my SG allies are Canadian, and much of the Canadian stuff was inspired by in-jokes with them.)
-
Yes! I did well during the recent Winter Event. Thanks for the encouragement

Wonderful! I appreciate your recommendation and the your tips on leveling up a Praetorian in the endzone. I've enjoyed doing all the Goldside content available via Ouroboros (using the Supergroup crystal) Thanks again!

I'd appreciate feedback on a 5-mission arc I've published, arc #25408 - Clash of the Communist Kaiju ------------------------------------------------------------------ The heroes are recruited to rescue some interns of an established Super-Science bigwig, which will lead to conflict with old-school Soviet Supersoldiers and monsters from Kaiju Island. Along the way, low-level villains will question their political idealogies and oppressed masses with overthrow a monarchy and Canada will come to the rescue. Giant monsters (well, monster)! Giant Robots! (A lot of giant robots, very polite ones) - and revolutionary rhetoric around every corner. More or less. ------------------------------------------------------------------- It is 5 missions long, but it feels about as long as one of those Goldside contact arcs. I've been testing it in the 35-45 range, but it should work okay at lower levels, although some of the custom bosses might be tough. Best regards to those who try it out. Feel free to comment on the arc with recommendations for me to try out as well. I'm trying to get a Praetorian to 50, and I'll need to do some AE missions for variety.

Thank you!

Doctor Dread, I was looking forward to seeing how to change one texture to another, but the link doesn't seem to be working. Do you know if there's another link that I can check out, for City of Heroes Texture Modding? Best regards

Congratulations to all of the winners (and everyone who submitted a base for consideration.)
-
The anticipation is killing me.
-
Best wishes on the base tours that you'll be doing these next two weeks. Hope you have a great time. Good luck to all of the contestants!

Just having someone visit a base is a big accomplishment. Thank you for hosting this contest, and checking out the bases. I'm looking forward to visiting all the Excelsior bases that are listed here. Win or lose, this has been a wonderful event. -- @First of Equals

Here to register my superbase for consideration. First of Equals @First of Equals Solitude Excelsior Solitude-748 First of Equals/@First of Equals is the sole architect. I designed the base to be an homage to Superman's Fortress of Solitude, so I was less interested in small detail, and more interested in scale. The main atrium was designed to look like it had an icy texture --- I recommend setting /visscale 5 because the base is large and you want far off details to render. It's important to explore, because you'll need to discover how to shrink yourself down to visit the Bottle City of Kandor, an important element of Kryptonian lore. As well, there's a Phantom Zone projector in operation which will allow access to this timeless realm. From a game standpoint, entering the Phantom Zone will allow one to become a phantom and observe people inside the base, while being invisible to them (thanks to the one-sided property of most textures.) The base has convenient teleport off the Atrium (although the city zones are broken up into Metropolis or Gotham - with teleporters to non-city zones available but set aside) - and convenient workstation area with the Superman flare of the captive Sun Eater (from All-Star Superman) and the forge for crafting black holes to feed the Sun Eater. Careful observers should be able to catch a glimpse of Mogo, the planet-sized member of the Green Lantern corp, from various points in the superbase. I hope you get a chance to explore the full length of the base when you visit.
