    Thought…

…whether or not the Jedi abducted kids or asked, the kids might not always see it that way. Especially if they got taken from a happy secure family to a lifetime of discipline, asceticism and service.

That would still be the Jedi not abducting and they can freely leave the Jedi Order as adults.

We've had a taste of that already (what might happen without training), as discussed in the Mandalorian (cue Spoiler Alert):

      Hide contents

Ahsoka was asked to train Grogu and she refused fearing his attachment to Dinn would create another Darth Vader.  Her comment was something along the lines of "better to leave him untrained and let the ability wither".  So there's at least a perception among those trained as Jedi that an unpracticed force usage will wither and die.  While I don't like citing the series "Obi-Wan Kenobi" it is canon now, and within it, Kenobi, one of the greatest masters of his age found it a struggle to use the force after denying himself for around a decade.  So the idea is that unused/untrained force abilities are lost, and even trained but unused force abilities are at least severely diminished over time.

Of course, we also have the Sequel Trilogy, which makes the Kenobi series look like high art, but it's currently canon, and there we have an untrained kid (12-year-old?) force-pulling a broom to him, so...it would seem he's not withering at all.  But I chalk this discrepancy up to Disney not holding a hard line on canon definitions.

    Spoiler

My guess would be, an untrained may not know how to fully access their abilities the way a trained force user would, at least 99% of the time (after all someone had to start).  Keep the simple parlor tricks, without maybe focusing on the really heavy stuff?

We know the story is always a bit off.  Size matters not...then it matters 😛

Think for Kenobi is was all about "Want to weaken him for the sake of story" 😛

What needs expanding upon is a) what happens if parents decline/refuse to give up their child, and b) what happens, (or rather, what would the Jedi Order do), should a non-Jedi/non-Sith force user emerge somewhere and choose to operate independently.

I was looking it up and it's still "They ask" it's the Sith who steal kids.  People generally consider it an honor to have their kids go off with the Jedi, so it may not be to much of an issue?  But I'm sure there would be some who wouldn't.

I would think they shrug it off and continue on, but I would wonder in the Republic steps in later.

My concern is this general trend to try and villainize the light side and humanize dark side users.  I mean, the dark side literally deteriorates your body and is driven by rage, hatred, and anger.  The Jedi order definitely isn't all lily-white, (especially with them basically abducting children), but they're still generally "good".  I'd rather see unaffiliated force users expanded upon and explored more.  With all the millions of planets and trillions of sentient beings in the Star Wars universe, let's see how other cultures fostered and utilized force users...

That sounds like the first mistake.  Jedi didn't abduct children.  Parents gave the children and most considered it an honor.  Anakin stops a kidnapping of force sensitive children during Clone Wars.
They don't just go "Oh.  Force Sensitive.  We're taking the child.  Whether you like it or not."

I'd say the real issue may be, "We either take the child and they leave you or we don't help with the child's abilities"

Ahh. Misread. It is one of your highest damage/animation time abilities according to Mid's. It also gives you 8s on damage debuff, which beats out everything but Burst. And you might disorient your target.

It's DPS comes out lower on my build.  And 2 DMG IOs at +5 with 3 procs each, put it last in DPS too. 😞

It is a pretty minimal enhancement when dealing with groups as the only means of area application is Burst, though it does debuff 14% for 7 seconds. If the debuff stacks against single targets though, it would be a plus against bosses/AVs.

It does boost your damage over five hits and the power lasts for 20 seconds. You should have time to max it and then make attacks at full value. Its as worth it as Build Up. The downside is it only grants 7.5% To-Hit.

Power Siphon is worth it, what I was saying was Concentrated Strike not being able to reset Power Siphon (like it can for Scrappers) doesn't seem to make CS worth taking.

  7. Is Kinetic Melee the lowest in terms of ST DPS?  Generally, yes.  Though only dead last on Brutes it seems, with second to last for Tankers.

However, the difference between Tanker's top ST DPS and Kinetic Melee is roughly 90 seconds, going by @Ston's DPS charts.  So, imo, the difference just gets blown out of proportion.

I would personally like to see some real work done on Focused Burst to help it's ST DPS.  This attack is so nice looking, and it's such a shame that it's better to take an Epic Blast.  This attack needs to be reworked into snipe/gloom level imo, so people will want to take it instead.

Sadly for Tanker's Concentrated Strike doesn't reset Power Siphon, so right now, I'm not so sure it's worth taking on Tankers.  I only use the attack once on my Scrapper, as a chance to reset Power Siphon.  If it doesn't do it, I don't use it again until the next Power Siphon window.  Sadly, it's chance to trigger PS reset seems to be low.

If you want the best out of Kinetic Melee, go Bio Armor for sure.  That armor set is going to make EVERYTHING Melee Set nice, in terms of damage 🙂

  8. Going to check it out, but I have some thoughts...

Humor won't bother me, plenty of various TF series have humor.  Beast Wars had humor.

Not caring much for Elita-One (Ariel?) being a motorcycle 😛  Gah, those are always weak 😛

Not criticizing just curious:  Would that not negate any reason to go work through Warburg and secure a nuke?

Not really.  Figure the OP was going for looks more than identical function.  The question would really come down what to make the two different effects.

Though, isn't it Core is additional Damage (DoT usually I believe if not always) and a secondary effect on the Radial.

I don't recall an instance before this of power replication from a shape shifter (but to be faaaaiiihh i don't recall much of anything ever). It does make sense that they should be able to mimic down to dna though given that their power already extends to such things as voice and mannerisms and style of movement. In which case they should mimic Proteus or Jaime Braddock and just manipulate the sentinels out of reality. They'll be fine til they have to go one on one with a similarly boosted Mystique.

Looking at his Marvel page, it seems he has Shapeshifting and Power Mimicry.  However, there does seems to be limits, but I'm also left wondering if he can change into a made up look, or if he has to copy someone.

Seems like he's a minor version of Rogue mixed with Mystique.

don't over look Stone Armor i believe Rooted has a built in taunt and Brimstone adds to damage of all your attacks stone is very solid with its defense and add alot of health and end mitigation the only down fall is low DDR but you can use incarnates or couple purples to mitigate that for the AV fight.

Besides no taunt, not sure it would need DDR that much and not all AVs do -Defense

  12. Not sure on Fire Melee, but Energy Melee seems like it would be a set with enough solid DPS you wouldn't need to worry about proccing out the attacks for AV hunting DPS, so could slot it to focus more on the set bonuses and survival.

I'm not sure how I feel about the huge power upgrade for Morph - i.e. taking on the powers of whomever he's mimicking. I don't remember if he had that when he came back on the original series but I know he didn't have it all along - otherwise he'd not been just running around getting killed in the early sentinel fight of the original. It's a nice gimmick for putting in cameos but if you think about it it makes him simultaneously overpowered and a bit dumb, cuz why wouldn't you just always mimic Phoenix Jean?

I don't believe he's copied energy blasts and such has he?  Merely the physical aspects?  Maybe they look like metal claws for instance, but they're not adamantium level metal claws, even if he may be able to make them tougher than just bone.

I think a real question is, why does he morph to look like Angel to grow wings and not just grow wings?

    Better as defenders:

    Cold

    Storm

    Forcefields

Sonic (don't laugh, that hula hoop of doom is DEADLY defender sized on a teammate)

    Traps

    Trick Arrow

    Empathy

Thermal (I am a bit ambivalent on this one)

Poison if you are a team player

Kinetics if you are a team player

    Electric Affinity

    Nature Affinity

    Radiation Emission

In the right hands of a Corruptor - better off:

    Dark

    Kinetics

    Poison

Trick Arrow if you tend to solo more

What people forget about Kinetics is that all siphon powers: transfusion, transference, siphon power, siphon speed, and fulcrum shift are double edged weapons. Transfusion has -regen that is NOT enhanceable but performs better on a defender, Siphon power has +dmg for teammates but also -dmg on targets (this subtlety of -dmg is lost on the masses) siphon speed has a GLORIOUS irresistible secondary effect of -speed. (It can miss but AVs and hard targets in general do not resist). If you're a sapper, transference makes sapping easier for defenders. For all the lovely stack +dmg [hello damage cap 🙂 ] it also REDUCES DMG on all affected targets. On typical regular in-game content less than level 50, the nuance of a defender debuff compared to a corruptor debuff may be trivial, but in hard content this additional -dmg can be a lifesaver.

I think the issue with -DMG, from what I understand, is it gets resisted by the enemies Resist.  So, -DMG seems nice, until the enemy that does energy damage also has 75% energy resist, so that -DMG gets weakened a lot.

  15. For Episode 7

    Spoiler

One of the things I loved was not seeing Captain America kick Rogue's butt.  I was afraid that's what we'd see when I saw him show up in the episode.  If the two of them fought, I feel there'd be no way for Cap to win and I just wouldn't by it, especially after the destruction (and it was awesome!) she caused for Ross.

I do think some of the X-Men should've stopped Rogue from dropping the guy.  I get Wolverine not doing it, but a bit surprised Jean didn't stop him from falling.  Some X-Men should also be walking away from such actions.

  16. I honestly haven't felt like my Corruptors, when solo, are doing that much more damage than my Defenders.  So, yes, Scourge may kick in and be of use on bosses, and AV types of deals when solo, but if a Corr can get down to Scourge kicking in, then a Defender can get them down in health too.

Defender comes with some better Defense numbers too.  I've enjoyed my Storm/Storm Defender more than my Storm/Storm Corruptor.

No, on Kinetics, I thought the Corruptor won out.

Ice Blast can use everything in Intuition Radial except Defense Debuff. Combine it with a debuffing set and you're golden.

Street Justice/WP has Shin Breaker with both -Defense and Slows, Crushing Uppercut with Hold, RttC with -ToHit and just need to grab a range attack in Epic 🙂

Pretty sure even the Melee attacks in Sonic Manipulation use screaming/shouting animations.

Have looked at the Dominator set, as I'm happy with my ILL/ENERGY and not the biggest Dom fan.  However, I'd hope for some punches and kicks.

Rookie and Silent Sentinel were swapped so that new Heroes were much more likely to find a badge out of the gate (which now has a popup explaining what they are and nudging you toward Long Range Teleport), as otherwise the nearest badge was Top Dog which isn't immediately obvious and can't just be walked over to.  Compared to Villains and Praetorians who are practically guarenteed to find The Next Big Thing going to the Arbiter or Civic Minded when heading to Marauder.

I'd think the one atop City Hall would be easier to get to and I was able to get it with Athletic Run.

That said, the move didn't bother me personally, but it did surprise me 😛

All the others seem to be in place to where they were.

For some reason I couldn't get that to import into mids. Might be user error, I'm still figuring mids out, ha

Import via data chunk worked for me.

However, it had Radiation Therapy at very low damage for some reason in the the display.
