    Min is 0, any idea what max is?

    Max is not a number, but actually typed in as "max". I think it's power-based. So for Jaunt, for example, iirc it's about 250 feet. Far more for Teleport, far less for targeted AOE powers. If you look at the powers info or descr and it shows it, it will be whatever that max number is.

    PS Forgot to mention -- you can copy your character to Beta and test out TP powers there, without burning a respec. Hope that helps.

  2. My notes on powexec_location:

    /bind shift+f, powexec_location target Rain Of Fire"

    loc options: me, target, or [direction:distance]. Direction is 0-360 representing degrees of a circle, distance is 0-max in CoH world units (feet).

    My notes on a teleport binds:

    /bind shift+rbutton "tell $target, I am teleporting you now $target! Get ready....$$powexec_name recall friend"

    /bind shift+lbutton "powexec_name Teleport"

    You can probably change the recall friend to Group Teleport and use powexec_location and that should work:

    /bind shift+rbutton "Group Teleport! Get ready....$$powexec_location 0:5 recall friend"  (0 degrees, 5 feet in front of you)

  3. Nice!  Something I pulled from somewhere: there's also a command to increase IO levels (useful when you want a +5 Recharge on Hasten):

    Right click the slot, mouse over the IO you want to use, then press + to the number you want, then click and it'll populate. Note that it won't show 50+5 on the enhancement, but the mouse over text for the enhancement will show it.

    Edit: Looks like you had this covered!

  4. Iirc my google-fu found this info from City of Titans:

    //Now, emailsendattachment takes SIX (6) arguments:  <string> <string> <integer> <integer> <integer> <string>
    /emailsendattachment Global Subject Infl AttachmentType InventoryLocation Message
    //AttachmentType values:
    2 is Inspirations
    10 should be Enhancements but is not enabled.
    11 is Salvage.
    12 is Recipes.
    //

    //InventoryLocation
    For each type, open the corresponding inventory window and count. Location is the number of the item you want to send, starting from 1, as it currently sits in the sort order.
    //

    Maybe sorting salvage by rarity will help?

    My other comment is that I've now added this to my "setup" custom menu. This lets me quickly create the macro for all new and existing toons by simply adding this line to my .mnu file:

    Option "Load Money Macro"		"macro $Money emailsendattachment "@MyGlobal" "20 Mil" "20000000" "0" "0" "Cash from $name.""

    If anyone knows how to make it work for @globals with names with 2 spaces, that would be really great.

    i have asked this on other threads because i'm not sure where to find the info, but i was hoping to learn different macro button images for base teleporters. i've seen 3 different ones and i wanted to learn some more if there are more. anyone know? thanks

    Sorry for the late reply -- there are instructions here: https://old.reddit.com/r/Cityofheroes/comments/c0tu6u/howto_macro_icons/

    And a list of icons and their names in that post as well as here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uHUi6BWFTYj4wbfGBs3LjZL88Fym6B-8EwDr18YZcY8/edit#gid=852710698

    If you're feeling extra fancy, you can probably replace the icons using /data folder cusstomization and the icons Rylas redesigned: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/8106-want-a-higher-res-version-of-a-power-icon/

    Does anyone know of a way in game to create a macro that creates a new mail, defaults in your global name and then attaches the item you click on to the mail or am I really reaching here?

    Let me know please before a bind a key outside to fill in the blanks...Thanks!

    Wouldn't think so, because there is no slash command that would even come close.

  7. Hi all. Wondering what people have been using for angled roofs.  My problem is that angled platforms look fake and I'm not sure what to use to fill in the fronts and backs.  I've seen roman stairs be used, but unfortunately that won't work for me.  Hoping to get some ideas.

    What my current roof looks like:

  8. A lot of people do under-appreciate Dark. I think most people give up on Dark Melee/* because it's so end-heavy and it feels like you are going at a snail's pace while all the fancy fast action scraps (katana, DB, claws) just ran by you. And if you didn't build it right, it would be squishier *and* have lower dps.  And it's also a very late bloomer (if it blooms at all).  It's also not straight-forward to build, as most powers can be slotted with more types of enhancements.

    That being said, as I mentioned before in a previous post, I love my DM/Inv scrapper main.  Unbelievably sturdy @ "capped" S/L 45% defense and capped S/L 75% resistance. And that was before Incarnates and i25 IO sets were introduced. Scary to think what Dark Melee could do now...

    (Never tried DM/DA, so limiting my comments to DM.)

  9. BTW, if you use the custom windows option, I found it was super-easy to create a windows .mnu file that automatically creates macros for my new alts. So I use those macros instead.  It sounds confusing so I'm attaching what my custom window should look like, and a new vertical panel that houses all my custom bind commands.  The custom window makes three snazzy image_file macros, which I then move to my designated toolbar, "4".

    Also, chats are loaded from chat_load_file — or will bind_load work, too?

    Actually, on further playing, I think the game already automatically adds the channels you have joined.  But if you want to create a file *just* to be sure you are consistent across all alts, I think this is how it goes (I haven't tested):

    - Create a .txt file

    - Use the slash command "chan_join channelX" for each channel you want to load

    - Load the .txt file using the /bind_load_file command like you do for the keybind files

    Ok stupid question.  Are you saying targeting dead teammates won't work because it requires the command to cycle through targets that are *not* in your perception radius?

    I'm confused why the wiki says this will work: "target_custom_next enemy void alive" but "target_custom_next teammate notalive" won't work

  12. I loved my dark/invuln back in the day. I used Actin's build and that scrap was neigh invincible. I used to run the Freakshow (post aggro cap) and it would be no problem. It was such an overlooked build combo. Everyone was katana or regen or both.

    Different strokes for different folks.

    If that is what people enjoy doing then good on them. I find it weird when people try and tell other people how to play the game. Some people LOVE AE, some people do not. If you want to spend your influence on being PL'd then do it.

    Same. I'd also like to add "to a point". With regards to PL and farming, I get a sense that right now it helps the community more than it hurts it.  So I'm ok with it.  I also like the fact that farming and PL's are more transparent now.  There are guides if you want to do it yourself so idm if people don't want to read / take the time and pay for being PL'd.

    I also love the fact that this is a non-profit system that doesn't prevent people from doing things for fear of ruining the profitability of the game.  I think a lot of people don't realise how many nerfs and "fixes" go into games because the publishers want to make more money off their playerbase, and not because they think players will actually enjoy more.  Allowing farming and PL's to better see how it affects the community instead of immediate bans and nerfs is far more interesting to me.

  14. Hi,

    The documentation in ParagonWiki notes that calling /bind_load_file from popMenus doesn't work.. as expected.  It says:

    "Bind_load and Bind used as commands do not currently work as expected. Binds made via popmenu will take effect after the client is restarted."

    Also FYI I've noticed with popmenus and custom windows that often adding new options or commands don't show up until you restart the client, not just those relating to /bind commands.  Hope that helps.

  15. Do you suffer from altitis? Do you have a minutes-long ritual to set up up your 100th alt to have the *exact* same settings as your 10th allt?  Here is a guide for you!  In this guide, I’ll show the steps to create a custom window or popmenu (your choice) that allows you to copy your custom binds, options, and window settings for each new alt in less than five mouse/keyboard clicks. Basically, on create, each alt will have a window or custom popmenu.  So you can load up your custom binds, custom macros, chat channels, saved options, and saved windows all in one spot.

    Prerequisites:
    -    Basic knowledge of how to create and use *.txt bind files (guide here)
    -    Basic knowledge of popmenus and/or how to create custom windows (here is a link to my steps on custom windows how.  See section below on how to bind a key to a popmenu).
    -    Basic knowledge of how to set window UI scaling (here is my quick version how-to)
    -    A saved default options.txt file and .wdw file from the COH Options window that you want loaded for all your alts
    -    Generic custom binds text file. I use a pared down version of Shenanigunner’s GABB.txt file
    -    Generic custom macros text file.  For this example, I’ll call it genMacros.txt  (here is a how-to)

    -    Generic custom channels text file.  For all the custom channels you want your new alt to join immediately

    OPTION 1:  Steps for creating a custom popmenu

    This option can be helpful if you don't want a persistent window on your UI.

    -    Create a Setup.mnu file in your City of Heroes  \data\texts\English\Menus directory location (note you need the extra line at the start of the file) like this:

    Spoiler

    // Need at least one line of comment or empty new line before menu commands

    Menu Setup
    {
            Menu “Setup”
            {
            Option "Load &Binds"        "bind_load_file C:\CoHbinds\genericBinds.txt"
                                       Option "Load &Macros"        "bind_load_file C:\CoHbinds\genMacros.txt"
            Option "Load &Channels"        "bind_load_file C:\CoHbinds\channels.txt"
            Option "Load Saved &Options"    "option_load"
            Option "Load Saved &Windows"    "wdw_load"
            }

    }

    -    Login to COH. In your new alt, bind a key to the Setup menu:
    /bind shift+S popmenu Setup  (this should be same as the name of the Setup.mnu file)
    -    Use your bind key and select all the setup options you want
    -    Quit and restart the game. On login to your alt, all options should take into effect. (Bind_load and Bind used as commands in the menu shouldn't work until you do so.)

    OPTION 2:  Steps for creating a custom Window

    To make my guide simpler, I've assumed you already created a custom Window and simply want to add the Setup menu options.  If you have not created and tested a custom window, I recommend you do so first and test that your custom window works.

    -    In your COH  \data\texts\English\Menus directory, open the existing .mnu file you created (see link above on creating custom windows if you need help on how to do this)
    -    Edit the file so it has a new submenu, called “Setup”.  In this example, the new submenu is BELOW the “Divider” command:

    Spoiler

    // Need at least one line of comment or empty new line before menu commands

    Menu CustomMenu
    {
        Menu "Travel"
        {
            Option "&Ouroboros"        "powexec_location 0:10 Ouroboros Portal"
            Option "&SG Base Transporter"    "powexec_name Base Transporter"
            Option "&Team Mission Teleport"    "powexec_location 0:10 Team Transporter"
            Option "&Mission Teleport"        "powexec_name Mission Transporter"
            Option "&Assemble the Team"    "powexec_name Assemble the Team"
        }

    // NEW SUBMENU TO SETUP NEW CHARACTERS
        Divider
            Menu Setup
            {
            Option "Load &Binds"        "bind_load_file C:\CoHbinds\genericBinds.txt"
                                       Option "Load &Macros"        "bind_load_file C:\CoHbinds\genMacros.txt"
            Option "Load &Channels"        "bind_load_file C:\CoHbinds\channels.txt"
            Option "Load Saved &Options"    "option_load"
            Option "Load Saved &Windows"    "wdw_load"
            }

    // END OF  SETUP SUBMENU

    }

    -    Save your .mnu file and exit.
    -    Exit and close CoH if you had it running.  Restart CoH.
    -    After restarting and logging in, you should see the new menu option.  Each time you create a character, that option will be there for them to easily load up your custom UI, macros, channels, and keybinds.
    -    Quit and restart the game. On login to your alt, all options should take into effect. (Bind_load and Bind used as commands in the menu shouldn't work until you do so.)

    Disclaimers:
    While I tested the popMenu and customWindow options, I haven’t tested the macros and channels options.  Also, I have tried to consolidate this guide to the absolute minimum new information you need to get started.  So I have not recreated the information found in the links I posted in the prerequisites.  Feel free to ask for clarification if you try and it doesn’t work for you.

  16. Winter super packs are 60% off, and cost 10 mill right now, last I checked. Prices for both the super pack and IO's are pretty good if you're looking for those sets. Buying them now will be much cheaper time-wise than collecting merits.

    I (non-tanker) solo either the 12-merit Smoke & Mirrors or 55-merit Freakshow War missions in Ouro at -1/0 setting. I try to aim for 1 merit per minute or less.  Check my guide for some other tips too, if you haven't yet.  Some people also like the Signature Arc stories. For merit farming, I don't think there will be much difference for a tank on what mission is optimal; it just might take more time.

    I also farm inf. With a brute farmer, it's certainly much faster for me to gain influence this way than converting merits to IO's, but ymmv as a tank.

  17. I ran an Ice/Rad on live a looong time ago.  It was a great group toon and was my go-to whenever someone wanted to run a MoSTF (now Liberty TF). Everything slowed to a crawl with Artic Air and the various ice/rad debuffs.  I didn't have problems with end because there was always a kin or emp around.  I skipped fallout, em pulse, and mutation on rad; and frostbite, flash freeze, and glacier on ice.  Shiver is sneaky good paired with Artic Air.

    Having said that, I don't know if I'll recreate him.  He's horrible for solo and doesn't really get past end issues until end game. Since current end game seems to rely more on output dps rather than slowing incoming dps, I feel like a he's a build that the game grew out of.  But you can bet if some new group TF came along that needs massive debuffs, I'm dusting him off and leveling him asap.
