  1.   Here's my demon/pain build to maybe give you some ideas. Very solid with good defense and resist to s/l. Pets are very sturdy with the buffs that pain offers them and with sorcery thrown in for some added goodies. I also slot the soulbound proc in my demons with my Demon Prince having cold and hold procs slotted which really seem to pay off. Most of my demon MM's are slotting very similar to this with maybe a few slight difference between them

    I always recommend taking a look at /savage if for no other reason than it has feral charge which is unique to doms and call hawk is really cool. If you embrace feral charge the experience is like no other in the game. It has good st damage and is on the higher end for aoe (for doms). Blood Frenzy can be a great buff and is an interesting mechanic if you desire a bit more engagement. The heal is ideal for fixing a mess up while you reestablish control, hence why it is heal+HoT (and unfortunately) on a long recharge. 

    I enjoy my dark/sav/fire a lot more than my dark/dark/psi, but there are other /sav combos I like even more, so ymmv.

     

     

        

         On my dark/savage dom I originally had a proc'd version with heart of darkness, rending flurry and feral charge all proc'd out. Tactic was to leap in with feral charge and then hit HoD followed by rending flurry and watch everything drop, was so much fun

  3.   Fun is anything paired with storm for pure, beautiful chaos......demons, bots or undead all love the storms. As @PLVRIZR mentions the updated necro/dark builds are a blast and like he also states.........I like me some Dark Miasma. Dark lets you do some insane things with all the debuffs/control type powers it has to keep you and your pets standing.

  4. @Mr. Apocalypse, based on your current build I've modified it a bit to get some slightly different results. Not knowing how you like to play....such as do you just like to command your pets and sit back to oversee everything or do you prefer to jump in and attack as well. As @kelika2 mentions different suggestions for the build, there is not one way to make MM's but many, countless variations based on player preference. With the build I posted the 2 upgrade powers each have 2 slots in them which were left blank, place 2 from a healing set in one to get whatever bonus that interests you and place 2 from a resist set in the other, again for whatever bonus interests you. While all but 1 of my MM's has attacks this comes from my playing everything like a scrapper I tend to build to hit high defense and resists ratings and while no really needed I found that it suits my playstyle

  5.  As people have already stated dark/dark is the classic combo that flows the best however, my current tank that has been a blast to play is dark/rad, even with the upcoming changes to rad melee(irradiated ground). With resists that are insane, strong defenses, debuffs and the combo of damage from the 2 auras it shreds enemies at max settings with little issues. As for the dreaded DDR......I just grab ageless radial epiphany and pop it as needed

       The fun thing about dominators is that they vary from player to player. 2 players can have the exact same build but get completely different results based on how they play.......do they mow down entire mobs like a buzzsaw or do they stroll in and maybe toss a confuse and watch the show while picking off the stragglers. I went about making a non hasten dom as a........."wonder what I can do with this kinda thing" as well as being based on me getting easily distracted by things.........my wife describes it as me having the attention span of a 5 year old. It was a lot of work and even more influence as I built and rebuilt to get something I enjoyed but in the end it's just a game and seeing what's possible while still being fun is why I play.

  10.   I've made 2......and I love them but it was a hard road but managed to get permadom and good survivability , Mind/dark and dark/dark. If you can achieve permadom without hasten and not sacrifice damage, defense or resists then go for it but if any of these are lost then take hasten

  11.   while rad/fire is probably the best farmer in game and can be built for all types of farms. With dark armor......I've always been a fan of dark it offered other things that made it fun......cloak of darkness, cloak of fear and oppressive gloom........it became more of a what can I do with this kinda thing. Came up with a concept and build for that concept and now rebuild again as the concept has slightly changed to not only do s/l but also fire farms

  12.   Here goes...........demon/storm is a great set because you have demons.........and storms together for pure chaos.  In all seriousness demon/storm MM's are all about damage. As for the best build this or best build that, this is open to interpretation and opinion. Great and terrible MM's are also very opinion based.....while the general consensus that mercs are the worst doesn't mean anything as in certain MM's hands they are a thing to behold with the same thing regarding one of the stronger pet sets being played by someone unfamilliar with them and just playing a posted build not having the same outcome as the creator of said build.

     

        Storm provides excellent damage thanks to lightning storm and tornado along with solid debuff thanks to freezing rain. Steamy mist gives the MM some defense and can aid with stealth if paired with either a stealth proc or super speed. While I find the heal(O2) not worth taking it can be effective if taken and slotted. Hurrican is a niche pick.....some like it while others don't but can be fun..........hurricane herding for the win.

     

        Best advice I can give it look over some builds to get an idea then build what you think you may enjoy and play it........then the more you play it the more you'll tweak it to your style and make it your own

  13.    So after looking at your build a few things sttod out.......first was your defense ratings were insane, as a scrapperlocked infused MM I'm very impressed........second is similar to the first resist capped and to S/l, again impressed......thirdly is the endurance issues you will be facing is gonna make you cry......trust me there I also run a demon/storm MM..  

     

      My main is a demon/dark and I'm currently leveling up a 2nd one up with a different build that incorporates sorcery pool......I like the look of RoP.

     

    On  to the feedback........Stealth can be easily achieved with shadowfall and the stealth IO in sprint so no need if SS, unless you just like the power.  Love me some holding powers and pet gaze is one of my faves....great for locking down annoying enemies......looking at you Dark Ring Mistresses and Master Illusionists with either 4 slots of Baslisk Gaze for the recharge bonus, 5 slots of the purples for the recharge bonus or 6 slots of lockdown for the defense bonus., hell even as a proc attack. Fearsome stare I loce with cloud sense set as I like to turn it into a mini proc attack, 6 slotted with the set for recharge bonus and the ranged defense. Howling twilight, this is your opening move as it will stun the entire mob so slot it with the annihilation -res proc and watch the mob melt away thanks to your demons and if you have an extra slot put in another proc like bombardment chance for fire damage.  Twilight Grasp, spam it not only is the heal good but it's debuff is nice also with multiple ways to take advantage of it.......theft of essence set with the proc for a chance of endurance, touch of the nictu set with the damage proc or my personal favorite cloud sense 6 slotted cause I love those bonuses. Master mind attacks are a choice, some take them and others don,t.........I love them but then again I play my MM's like scrappers so I'm a bit crazy.

     

        There's not any one way to build a good and solid MM as the best thing about the AT is everything we can do that other builds can't.......we got a freaking army. Build it....test it and enjoy it......or build it and rebuild it until it suits you as most of my MM's have been built and rebuilt over and over again. I'll post my main for you to kook at to see some of my choices......these are choices I've made based on my play style and in a way I find fun but it's not for everyone..

  14.    As I recall seeker drones don't benefit from procs all that well as the reason they get skipped. Triage isn't really needed from my perspective as your PA's and traps will be doing most of the work with you being invisible and with the force field drone keeping you safe. Time bomb I didn't take on my ill/traps, couldn't tell you why other than my guess was the recharge turned me off, I preferred laying multiple trip mines and poison traps followed by fold space to pull mobs and wipe things out really quick.  From all the builds I've seen most come down to some personal choices and style.  It's a fun combo and can do some very fun things but as with most things it's limited to the amount of time it takes to set your toys up versus the team already wiping out the baddies........still fun as hell though.

     

       My current build........the combo I learned to play traps on as well, so I'm no expert on the pairing. Good luck

  15.   Here's my main.....she's a blast to play and this is her current build with capped s/l resists as well as soft capped s/l/m/r defenses......she be tanky. Ignore some of the power selection levels as they're not correct, was building and doing the respec at the same time........not a bright move mind you but somehow it worked and I got this monster. Most of the powers were picked near their available levels with fighting pushed towards the back end.

  16.   As I've been looking over builds and watching wonderful videos of dominators in action, I've started to rework my builds to see what i could come up with. It started with my dark/dark dom and thanks to @Voltak I had an idea to make him better but I thought what about my others...........and I looked at my mind/dark dom who's based off the council vamps, Initially I had went with ice mastery for some AoE and the defensive armor but the more I thought about it soul made better sense with the armor and soul drain, so I began to tweak here and there to see what I could make. Then in a moment of clarity🙄(lack of sleep or too many meds from my recent surgery) I hade an idea🤔.........a no hasten dominator😲, I blame the wife for this happening as she's making me take the meds. I have achieved perma hasten and s/l defense capped without the aid of stealth with range able to hit the defense cap with a small purple........and even though I had to keep ice mastery and lose out on my beloved soul drain, I think it was worth it.........but what do I know😁
