  1. "Your dps changes every level as you level up." A vet level 999 player and a vet level 1 player will deal the same damage if they're playing the same build and have the same rotation. Vet levels have nothing to do with dps output. "Different blaster types do different amounts of damage." That is why I want to know what good dps is. So I can know the underpowered sets from the good power sets. "They all affect DPS." I know. Thats why I want to test things. Try stuff out. I wanted to know what the bar was set at.

  4. That's true. But your dps in a dummy situation is reflective of your dps when buffed. On the same character I did a parse with good priority and got a 1:43. Did another parse where I didn't plan around boost up and just mashed and got a 2:25. That's quite a drop over a simple priority change.
  5. I've done speeds, 8 manned relentless runs and when it came out my 3 friends rushed to complete a 4 man relentless vanguard. My personal favorite part is the Vanguard bonus boss. It is refreshing to actually need some level of coordination and revived certain AT's that are often skipped over. It is by far my favorite piece of official CoH content. My only criticisms is that there is no real point to fight the vanguard(other then fun) on a character that already has the combat dummy. It would be nice if it gave you a extra D-sync as a reward for your effort. Other then that I am really hopeful for more content that makes fully built characters sweat.

  7. What level? How many veteran levels do you have? 50. What does vet levels have to do with anything? How many pets are you using? This is the blaster forum. No pets. What power sets do you have? Doesnt matter since the dummy/pylon has the same res to all damage types "How any incarnates powers do you have slotted? What enhancements do you have slotted?" Are great examples of why I am asking that question. I want to test things and try different combos out. If I do not know what quantifies as good dps in this game I could neuter myself and not even know it.
  8. Hey all new to CoH. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a thread or anything recent on what is a good dps threshold in CoH. The game where I come from (SWTOR) good dps is anything over 21k. What is the equivalent for a solo blaster in CoH? 400? 500? 600? (This assumes no inspirations/lore pets/a friend debuffing/buffing)

  10. Holding agro off of other tanks is the selling point of ice? That's not useful at all. Any tank can hold agro and do its job.
  11. The AE can make way more challenging content then anything you can do in the base game. I've done 4 man relentless ASF with enemies buffed (with the vanguard bonus boss) and 4 man'd the freedom phalanx on old school challenge/enemies buffed/players debuffed/temps off/inps off. I don't know anything about the story and I could care less about it. I play the game for its group content rather then its immersive experience. I am not a lesser player because I don't know where X mission door is or who X superhero is and what role they play in this universe. Don't punish players because they're not playing the way you want them to.
  12. There are plenty of endgame missions. The AE is filled with awesome challenging content. The game devs are leaning more twords great endgame with the vanguard bonus boss in the Aeon Strike force.
  13. Every MMO has a way to skip to endgame and it doesnt make the game a sandbox just cuts out the XP grind. I am not saying enhancements should be free or incarnates I am just tired of wasting 2 hours of my time doorsitting or way more leveling the "normal" way. It feels like such a chore to level to 50, it either needs to be faster or instant. Everything you learn as you level you can learn at level 50 its entirely dependent on the player and not on the manner of how you leveled.

  15. No I'm pretty sure that part is self evident, especially if you wanted to bring the character into challenge AE and SF content. I would think that in a player owned and driven game letting people play how they want would be a #1 priority instead of forcing players into jumping through 20 year old hoops. This game should be more inclusive to all types of players.
  16. All modern MMO's have a way to skip to endgame. I fail to see why it would be a bad thing to let people play the way they want. Leveling my 12th character to 50 doesn't add anything new to my experience.
  17. I never said buildup was bad. The Shockwave proc on it is just so bad and has almost no use outside of the most fringe cases.
  18. It has no purpose. Did a parse on the Mobile combat dummy with priority on proc'd stalagmite 3m 30s. Did one with proc'd Seismic force being the priority and it took 4m 30s. The 7 seconds it shaves off meteor are so pointless. The rest of your blast powers come off cooldown fast enough that the extra recharge it gives to your blaster powers are wasted. Having meteor come off CD 7s faster is a joke compared to the massive damage that proc'd stalagmite does. In trash pulls proc'd rock shards is way better then a shorter CD on meteor. If proc'd seismic force's recharge buff wasn't instant it would be useful but as it stands right now it only hurts your dps in AOE and ST situations.
  19. That would be awesome. Different player groups would have a different kill order based on their powersets to counter the buff that enemy would apply. For example, kill Gaussian there is a Vanguard ambush, kill Hero 1 and the remaining Vanguard gets his 25% fire, 25% cold, 25% energy, 25% lethal damage split. The way it plays right now its straight out of the AE.

  21. That is very unfortunate. Also very odd that it does show up it's a amazing costume piece that really should be released to all specs.
  22. I guess I did not clarify my problem, I am a energy rifle/devices blaster. When I go to the costume creator the crab backpack is listed as available. When I put it on my costume and finalize it, the backpack doesnt show up in-world. If this is not a bug and its intended I find it misleading that its a option at all.

Not entirely sure if this is a bug but when I try and use the crab backpack on a character that isn't a arachnos soldier It will show up in costume creator but not when I finalize the costume and go in world. It doesn't show up and removes itself. If this is not bug I find it odd that its even a option at all for characters that are not a arachnos soldier.
