The patch manifest that unofficial launchers use lags behind our official launcher by a bit, you'll have to either switch to the official launcher or give it a bit of time to update.

Hello everyone!
As always with these posts, I’d like to drop a quick reminder that there are more ways to support Homecoming than just through donations. For a general overview of the different ways you can help Homecoming, check out this thread.
Homecoming operates in a non-profit capacity* and accepts donations from the community each month to cover its operating expenses. These donation windows typically open on the last Saturday of each month, around 13:00 EST, and are automatically closed once the goal for the month has been reached. Any funds remaining at the end of each month are put towards our expenses for the following month. In the event that our expenses exceed our estimated costs for the month, the difference will be included in the donation goal for the following month.
If you wish to donate, you may do so here. The donation window for next month is open as of the time of this post and will automatically close once the goal is met. Thank you for your continued support!

Unfortunately it appears that if your username isn't MassivelyOP then devs don't actually care what info you, or I, would like to see.
I'd like to do a refresh of this post sometime in the near future, but it has not been a priority 🙂
Edit: For clarity - what we pulled for MOP was basically just a few quick SQL queries to run, took just a few minutes to put together. It takes hours to pull and organize all of the data for a post like this; just waiting for the queries to run actually takes significantly more time than it took to pull and organize the information that MOP requested. Unfortunately, it hasn't been a priority and it isn't going to be for some time.

Don't know, what I do know is that I called out said devs on the subreddit for directly attacking Cipher and making up conspiracy theories about HC infiltrating PC Gamer to manufacture a spokesperson from NCSoft to confirm their deal, and was subsequently permabanned for it. 🙂
So, eh. No big loss.Sorry you've been banned from the subreddit 😞
Unfortunately this isn't the first time we've heard of this happening, and the hostility is one of the reasons we've chosen not to engage with the subreddit in any official capacity for years now.
For others, while we do appreciate that the community wants to come to our defense when these sorts of things happen, sometimes it's best not to engage and just focus on the positive discussion on the subreddit.

We placed the second order for our SQL host hardware upgrades on February 20th, totaling $662.83. We did not include this in the original goal for February, and as such will be including it in the goal for March. Additionally, our AWS expenses for the month increased due to the increase in outbound emails.

Any thoughts on if this will help alleviate the issues with the Auction House, Character Items, and Super Packs? Or if this will allow the removal of the timers put on claiming items from character items?
A while back, these became issues for some players, where character items and some features (like super packs) would lock up entirely until the next reboot. Often it would happen after placing items on the AH. I don't recall all the details (the posts are here in the forums), but some of the blame was placed on Excelsior's server woes. Changes were put into place to limit the speed of claiming items, where attempting to claim items faster than one in about a second would essentially lock up your ability to claim more items for around 5 seconds. Also last week, for the first time in probably over a year, I had character items and super packs lock up for hours with the reply of Character or Account item claim failed, another request is pending.
These databases are on a separate database host and wouldn't be impacted by this upgrade. If/when we upgrade that server, AccountServer (which handles the account-wide inventory and super packs) may see some performance uplift. It's possible we may look at potential improvements on the code side at some point in the near future as well.

Last Month: January 2024
We have had some additional expenses related to restructuring around the City Council, updating our legal documentation, and the SQL host hardware upgrades which were not in the goal for the January donation window. Some of these have been paid already out of the contingency fund, and some will be paid in February. In both cases, these additional expenses will be included in the February donation window and not in the breakdown for January.
Additionally, increases in costs for Google Workspace and admin software put us $53.62 over our goal for the month. This difference will also be included in the goal for February.

Almost always Super Speed, partially because most characters are already going to be picking up Hasten anyways, and partially because it's just the least annoying to use on mission maps. Bonus points for being able to slot a Celerity: Stealth for a free almost-invis. If I have a spare power slot then I'll grab Super Jump to go with it.

Hey @Parabola,
We retired the light theme last week after looking at the usage stats for it and weighing it against the overhead of maintaining it.
Rather than bringing the light theme back, we'd like to investigate ways to improve our current theme so that this isn't an issue for you or other users. Do you have any suggestions on changes we can make to help here?

This is a long term solution strategy?
The shard balancing incentives will be running "until further notice." The longer answer is that we'll be actively monitoring server stability and shard population over the next week to determine if the incentives are having the desired effect and base our decision on when to end the event on that.

Contrast that with the HC Launcher. 3.66 megabytes. Simple, clean interface. Gives access to all of the HC shards, delivers news and updates, doesn't devour resources... oh, and it works. It just works. No hoops to jump through, no frustration, no annoyance, it just fucking works. And this is something cobbled together by our guys and girls in their spare time because they wanted to make logging into Co* faster and easier. This freeware launcher outperforms the multi-billion dollar company launcher in every way, without even trying.
All credit to @Number Six here, he's one of the most talented people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
