  1. So why don't you befriend and continue to play with these good people here? I just wish the DFB xp didn't start to decline until a little closer to 22 so that it's easier to get into level 25 IOs. Once I get those I stop worrying about money entirely and just play for fun/content up till around 42, then start looking for IO sets and set bonuses. If you're looking for decently rewarding short arcs in that level range you can always try Shauna Stockwell/Eagle Eye in KR and Jim Temblor/Penelope Yin/Doc Delilah in Faultline. They're newer content so better quality than the launch contacts and most of the arcs are only 3 missions long (think one of the KR is maybe 5?) so the XP over time is pretty good. Not as good as DfB obviously, but still good.
  2. That's pointless drama IMO and not worth my time (or yours I'd guess). My question is about community leadership and some of my questions have been answered. My new question is based on the responses I've gotten so far which suggest there are problems with the leaders of the CoH discord community or other projects. Is that true and if it is, [citation needed] Why? Why is anything needed? Why does the Homecoming team have to prove anything to you? If you don't trust HC/believe it to just be SCoRE 2.0 then the answer is simple. There are other servers to play CoH on. Just leave. Oh wait, you already did... ::)
  3. They still can. This still happens. Still the case. It still does. This is still mostly possible, the XP nerf doesn't become that noticeable until the late teens. DfB hasn't been removed from the game. It still exists and still takes the same amount of time AFAIK. Possibly the only valid point you've made since it's much less rewarding for high level players. Which it should be. Edit: readability
  4. Actually no - reading up doesn't make it clear why there should be trust issues; it does make it clear that there are a lot of people who make a lot of drama over this - basically amounting to "we were left outside." And yes, I can understand that might suck. But it happened. It is now done. CoH is now in the wild and available - move on. There's a thread not far below this one that's 10 pages of people arguing about ED. Moving on doesn't seem to be some people's strong point. As for this thread? Seems more like concern-trolling that anything else. There seems to be a small subset of people who just can't resist trying to stir up a little drama between HC and the other teams. They usually start by stating they have absolutely no agenda and just can't understand why posts like these lead to drama...
  5. Yeah, it's not a bug. Don't know if it's an I24 or I25 thing (although I'm leaning towards I25) but anchor toggles like Rad, Dark and Storm no longer auto shut off when they target dies is defeated, but rather when it despawns. Some people are a fan of the change, others not so much. Some other (possibly) related changes from the live version: Kinetics' Transfusion and Transference (and any other power that spawns a pseudo-pet to grant its effect I assume) now work even if the target is defeated as the power activates. Personally I love that change! Similarly, projectile powers launched by NPCs just before they are defeated like grenades and such will now actually damage you when they land, unlike on the old live servers.
  6. Nah, OP posted in it more than once. Automatic disqualification ;)
  7. Oh calm down, it's CoH, not Everquest in 1999. Things have changed and the reason that it was not considered acceptable (namely kill credit, loot drops etc.) have been addressed by most modern online games at this stage. And if you stop to think about it for just a second, in the setting that this game takes place in, it makes absolute sense for a character (well hero character anyway) to jump in and help dispatch the bad guys. Hell, even Positron gets in on the action these days and that stuff is all grey to him!
  8. There's an option in the keybinds section to bind that specific function (target nearest enemy) to a key or mouse button (I usually use a thumb button on the mouse) but if you want something to click on: /macro name "target_enemy_near" Just replace name above with whatever you want to appear on the button in your tray. That should work but since the servers are offline right now I can't be sure if I made any mistakes (you can always right click on the macro button and choose edit to make any changes you need)
  9. Nope, you can only have a single summon of the level 32 Controller pet. You used to be able to have multiples with enough recharge back in the day (pre-Issue 5 iirc) but they had a duration back then too. Now it's just a single pet but they're permanent unless killed or dismissed. The Mastermind is really the archetype you're looking for if you want an army of minions, although some Controller combinations, like the Dark/Dark I'm leveling atm, can have multiple types of pets out at once. In that particular case it's one Umbra Beast, two Haunts, one Dark Servant and as many mobs as you can Possess ;) But you don't have direct control over any of them like a Mastermind does with their henchmen.
  10. In the meantime, if you want to transfer keybinds between characters you can use: /bindsavefile my_keys.txt (you can call the file whatever you want) and /bindloadfile my_keys.txt
  11. To add to what Leese said, there's a fairly large, and growing daily, number of Defiant players on Indomitable so if you're just coming back (or sick of queues on Torchbearer!) head on over and join us. It's one of the quieter servers so it feels just like home ;)
  12. Servers are down right now but Torchbearer and Excelsior are still showing as up for some reason. You can queue on Excelsior and get to character select but when you try to enter the game it will just boot you back to login after a minute or two. Unlikely that anything is going to change for the next few hours at least since I think most of the team are conked out from exhaustion at this stage.
  13. I found a guide on the old forums at https://web.archive.org/web/20120904222729/http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=117256 if that helps. All the old guides are still there using the wayback machine :)
  14. Tested it using target instead of me and it worked, but I noticed some odd behavior. Using /macro TEST powexec_location target "Tar Patch" created the macro on the toolbar and it worked fine. However, if I right-clicked on the macro and edited it (even to something that worked before like me instead of target) it stopped working and gave an "Unknown command: powexec_location me" error.
  15. /macro TEST powexec_location me "Tar Patch" That worked for me. As far as I remember you only put quotes around arguments that have spaces in them.
  16. It wouldn't have a different result, but since you said earlier in the thread that you used the installer on the CoH folder and it didn't work, I figured it was at least worth a try. Someone on Discord earlier used the installer on the CoH folder and it worked. I used the copy method yesterday to the CoH folder and it worked as well. I have no idea why it won't work for you.
  17. I put it there the first time, it didn't work... There's no data folder there to begin with, unlike in the appdata folder... That's...odd. Try this and let me know the result. Create a new folder on the desktop Run the VidiotMaps installer and choose the folder you just created Once it completes you should have an uninstaller exe and the data folder inside the new folder Copy the data folder and paste it into the base City of Heroes folder
  18. I didn't install the game, Tequila did and there's no data folder in the folder I installed that to. If you click on Options in Tequila, it'll tell you what folder the game is installed in. Just point the VidiotMaps installer at that folder and it'll create the data folder and it's contents. You'll need to completely restart the CoH client for it to take effect.
  19. I was having the same issue with Siphon Speed on my MM. Zoning would make it come back off cooldown though.
  20. You just install it to whatever folder you installed the game in. In my case it's C:\Games\City of Heroes so I end up with C:\Games\City of Heroes\data\texture_library\MAPS etc.
