It doesn’t seem to be a nerf. Anyone claiming it is isn’t thinking clearly. Some people have a hang up that they believe they must be able to be at top speed permanently, but there’s no basis for that idea.
Also haven't actually tested yet, but it seems like the plan is:
Hover and Evasive Maneuvers are both always on.
I turn Fly on temporarily for travel and hit Afterburner if I have a long way to go.
Duplicating this might be very difficult, because you have to time it just right.
If you successfully cast Twilight Grasp and then DIE before the animation finishes it can REZ YOU.
People say personal defense is so ubiquitous that team defense buffs are no longer valuable, so I’m pretty sure you can build a stone tank to not need granite.
"Each jump while Double Jump is on cooldown has a X% chance to reset the cooldown of Double Jump."
That's an idea I had to make the difference between Double Jump and the Jump Pack/Steam Jump more than just ~.3 end/sec.
The Nova form isn't a Kheldians natural form. They borrowed it from another species. The Fly that the human form PB gets and the TP that the human form WS gets are equal to the pool versions. Only the travel powers from the forms are weaker, which seems fair since you get them for free.
I think Infiltration should also have a server tray ability.
Here's my suggestion:
Exfiltration
Basically, Afterburner but on the ground. Dramatically increases your running speed. Timed toggle, 30 second duration, 60 second cooldown. Not usable in combat, suppressed if you attack.
People would be less likely to be annoyed at changes to existing powers if the Respec UI wasn't so awful. The Upgrade Enhancements changes were wonderful, perhaps a respec update could be placed high on the to do list?
To reproduce:
Toggle on Super Jump
Toggle on Double Jump
Toggle off Double Jump
Super Jump animation is no longer visible.
Toggle on Double Jump.
Super Jump animation is visible again.
In fact the current design fails at the stated design goal of having Real Travel Powers always be better than what you can get at p2w.
I was wrong about this @Bopper. Double Jump has only half the endurance cost of the Jump Pack, making it explicitly better.
Still looking for an answer on what makes double jump worth it compared to the other travel powers. Is double jump not completely identical to the jump pack? Am I misunderstanding?
oh, and:
3. The Hover animation thing is a pretty serious problem for a game that is all about how we look. I understand the HC team is trying to make the best version of the game they can. Absolutely how things look needs to be at the top of the list of design priorities.
Mostly I like it, but:
1. I agree with was said before, it's pretty bad, thematically, to not have a pool power called Invisibility. Can you eliminate the name Stealth instead and call the remaining toggle Invisibility?
2. I don't understand the point of Double Jump if it really does just duplicate the Jump Pack? Am I missing something?
