  1. I've won one CC for certain, and maybe a second but I cannot remember what the costume was. For the first one it was "casual" themed. What is more casual than jeans, t-shirt, sneakers, hair in pony-tail (female)?  Of the other numerous contestants only one other person was remotely casual, it looked like everyone else showed up with their super tights. Easiest CC ever. (on live)

I did place, maybe that was the other first place finish for me, in a dev sponsored contest with the top 3 (or was it 5?) picks on each server receiving the newly released animated-tail pack for free. I had just created a "fox girl" but she was missing the bushy tail (of course). I really really wanted that pack, and got it (I'm a cheapskate and didn't want to spend the $10).    woohoo!

edit: or was it that I had the tail but not the fur and won the fur pack?  sigh, was sooo long ago...

I'd add the Military Zone, dominated by a US military base where they're setting up for a major military operation to help get Paragon City more under control with a period of martial law, and start open peacekeeping operations against the Rogue Isles.

It would have a lot of safer open areas because the area is covered by....uh.....a fully mechanized military force with tanks and artillery, and instead the 'street sweeping' opportunities would be a little more hidden where Arachnos is trying to disrupt the staging area by messing with supplies and esoteric warfare. There might be some fringe areas where courageous gangers are trying to lift unattended supplies or anything else they can find. Maybe Mooks doing some back alley deals with corrupt soldiers and the like.

I'd add interactions in there people can see between the military and 'hero' organizations, where Longbow is getting rebuffed by the military for literally being a private vigilante army for example, while there's much more respected Vanguard attaches present to observe.

Stuff like that. I like the idea of presenting a view of how the 'outside world' looks at the absolute chaos of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. PC isn't a city state that stands alone, it's a city in the United States, and they're not actually taking everything laying down. This is just a period of chaos after an ALMOST apocalypse of the Rikti War.

That already exists in the Rikti War Zone.  The only thing to change would be to see the AFVs actually fighting instead of cruising around trying to pick up chicks 😄 ;  it would be so cool to see them firing their BFGs.

Good boys and girls clean up after opening presents.  It's very naughty to run away without defeating the snow beasts!

(The presents respawn more quickly if you defeat the snow beasts.  So be a good citizen and clean up after yourself!)

No, they don't open quicker.  I've watched for this.

  4. I'd like some way to run a jungle or nature based character through the levels in mostly wooded areas. Perhaps a zone (or a good part of a zone) that is linked to Perez Park (through rivers?), perhaps linked to the southern part of the Hollows, the zone has some intermediate level areas, and then linked to Eden. I realize that's a niche theme, but probably more used, at least in much older comics before the wear-underwear-on-outside comics dominated the market, than an underwater zone. Maybe the new zone could have both woods and underwater missions (different contacts and different mission trees <- hah.. trees 😄 ).

    4. Speaking of street sweeping, I'd like the option to do a Null the Gull switch from telling NPCs "you con gray to me" to having every street villain always seen as within color range of me.  Sure, it might be blue or green, but make it at least a bit of a challenge (voluntarily) moving through the streets.

Oh H.E.double-hockey-sticks no.  I want to be able to go through low levels zones without being interrupted every few feet. I hated this in a Star Wars MMO (TOR?) when I was trying to get to my missions when the mobs were -5 levels or more to me. Now if they had made the roadways clear so you can bypass the chumps that wouldn't have been so bad.

The Tip missions, based on your level, derived from beating up grey-cons was a good way to give meaning to those greys.

  6. I find Sorcery to be lacking. I'd rather take the Flight Pool for my travel power. But, on a couple magic-themed characters I have used it. I do not like the teleport part of Mystic Flight; too much busy work for little gain. I'd rather sit back and read an in-air magazine 😄 . I also feel that way about the Teleport pool in general. I've tried it once, respec'd out of it, and never took it again.

I discovered something about Arcane Bolt - after watching some anime of magic-using sword-wielding characters, I took this power with broadsword & shield scrapper. I love the quick animation of Arcane Bolt, probably because a shield prohibits the usual way-too-long hand motions of the regular animation. One of these days I'll add more slots to it and then maybe it will amount to something. It is useful to blast those chumps who run away with a sliver of health left.

Story-wise, when you’re level 50, you are facing cosmic level threats, aliens, invasions from other dimensions, time travel, stuff like that. Threats from outside Earth. It cheapens the idea of beyond-max-level enemies if they’re just loitering around city zones.

There may also be technical or design reasons why the incarnate content is segregated: gating the content from under-50, setting up the level shifts for incarnate content, adding to the zone load-in with additional mobs, or whatever. I wouldn’t assume it’s just a matter of tossing some guys on the map and calling it a day.

Why are there Malta hanging around in PI like a gang?  That's not their MO. Carnies?  Not really their thing either.  Nemesis groups? Well, that's just another Nemesis plot. Perhaps if either had someone handing out flyers or spouting invitations to their organizations (i.e., recruitment) then it might make more sense (like Council on soap boxes or Crey people in SW Bricks). It's not just 50+ groups that shouldn't be hanging around like low level street thugs.  But it was an MMO thing back in the day, it didn't have to make sense.

Some of us at 50 don't care for incarnate things; or dislike roaming "edgelord" darkity-dark Dark Astoria, or time travelling to fight Roman soldiers (really?  why are they 45+?). We just want a bigger area than the small section of PI to casually beat up bad guys. I don't want to go into AE (I dislike the way its implemented). It would be nice to have some story and reason for street sweeping, but that seems to be a very low priority (if it exists at all) for added content.

  8. I'd rather have seen the stadium completed and have missions pertaining to its construction, such as union strikes (Family related), delays due to supplies not making it (pick whatever group would want to stop it ), environmental concerns (DE), etc. Those missions could still exist. I suppose. I just think a completed stadium, or perhaps one that is more completed than the current situation, would be good for RP reasons or other missions, e.g., stop the mad villain scheme to kill lots of people at a game/blackmail.

I like the Freaks, they're easy and a lot of xp. I usually gain an entire level just from the first mission of the Freakalympics arc (rescue and lead out three hostages, lots of ambushes.) And you can usually avoid their heals if you time your attacks right (on Minions and Lts. anyway.)

Are you (not just the person I'm responding to) people that stupid?  Someone already explained that you get 80% XP from Freaks compared to other mobs. Add in the 20% rez average of Freaks, the XP is the same as other mobs. (notice: 80% + 20% = 100%... simple math, people).   gad...

Yeah, this is a hostile post, but I'm effin' tired of people telling me that Freaks are double XP. They are not.  They are annoyingly annoying.

So Halloween I thought it'd be fun to have a Necromancy Dark MM. I've always wanted one, and have seen a couple decent enough builds for them. I figure I'll trick or treat with it, and lvl from 1-46 over a few hours trick or treating.

I log off to take a break and eat, and when I had some time I boot up mids to make a build, only to find i already have a Necro Dark MM build in my character vault folder where I keep my own builds. I'm like hmmm when the hell did I make this. Then I scrolled through my character cadre and found a lvl 50 Necro/dark mm but a different one than the one I was leveling. I boot it up and it's got the build slotted, a backstory.txt which was in my character vault along with a costume file.

So TLDR....I somehow made a toon, got it to 50, unlocked incarnate slots, made a build for it, slotted that build, saved the costume, and saved the backstory.

This ever happen to any of you?

    Only to the other me.

    Eat Arby's.

I would but for 2 reasons: 1) none are near my usual travel routes, 2) they got rid of ham & cheese sandwich (or the one that is nearest to me did).  😞

It goes back 20 years to Dennis 'Thresh' Fong and his standard configuration for Quake, winning the first Quake tournament. When he converted to using the mouse for mouselook, he needed controls for his left hand, and settled on WASD. Read How WASD Became the Standard PC Control Scheme -- there were other patterns on the left side of the keyboard, but Thresh's celebrity had people asking for his configuration, spreading it around.

It goes way back further than that. I was using a PLATO keyboard with arrows printed on the WADX keys in the mid '70s.

  13. Also, long sleeves and sleeves with bare hands need a sleek option.

I would also like those two to have the chainmail option, but then I use chainmail as a "knitted sweater" look. So, a new texture: knit?

  14. as the title says...

Some people play villains, or unkempt heroes, who never make their beds.  😄

I see base listings for "upscale dining"... can't have upscale dining without table cloths! 🤑

BTW (restaurant) base designers, leave some tables with glasses and plates on them without NPCs sitting at them so WE players can sit at tables that aren't empty of such.  Otherwise, it looks like we're waiting forever for the server. 😉
