I must not have been clear enough, sorry.
In my proposal, these entirely new "Veteran Merits" are not the same as Empyrion Merits; they cannot be converted into threads; they cannot be converted into reward merits, they cannot be transferred. They can only be used to craft incarnate components that are also character bound. Everything received from veteran levels can only be used to craft incarnate abilities for that character alone.
However, real Empyrion Merits would still be earned the same ways they are now, and would remain convertible into threads or reward merits, and be emailable to other characters on the same account.
Sounds good! There should be an option to convert a standard Emp to an "non convertible Emp", so you can mix them to buy incanate components (IE: I have 5 Emps and 3 ncEmps, I want to trade them for a Rare component)

If the issue is avoiding spam, why not add "Slow mode" to LFG chat? Only one message per minute allowed. After all, no one needs to advertise their group 4 times in a minute

I see that Seismic relies on being on the ground. How bad would it be a hovering Seismic/* blaster?

Will you accept characters who die in the current time during the course of a story arc? Marcus Valerius was around for a very long time, in one form or another.
If he dies, he is not exactly immortal, is he? 🙂

A warning for getting a flow on stories, @Erhnam. The Devs have chosen several stories here and there as Dev Choices, and they're damn good, but that doesn't mean they've chosen the FIRST story in a set of stories. I'll use @Darmian as an example. In August 2021 they picked "The Eve of War" and "Damnatio Memoriea" (sp?) and listed them in that order, but having gone through the arcs those are Part 3 and Part 2 of a trilogy! So Part 1 isn't there (still a good arc though) and "The Eve of War" and "Damnatio" need to be swapped in play order. Something similar happens for parts of @Ankylosaur's AEs too if I recall correctly.
Anyway, it's a jumping off point.
Good point! 😄

I want to level a character from 1 (or maybe 7, I may do a DFB for the recovery buff...) to 50 only by doing cool AE Arcs, no farming involved. I know there are a lot of amazing AE builders around. Can you suggest some #arcs beofe I start digging in the millions of arcs with the AE search?

Assuming 4-Star and Assuming you're doing it the hardest way possible, with the weakest team possible, perma -1000 -regen becomes the priority.
(163+50) / .48 / .45 / .66 ~= 1494 raw dps. This is probably pretty close to the actual break even number based on my solo runs and testing, and using Hornet's damage types. This equals out to Three or Four Hornets with one +Accuracy Buffer for a team of 4 or 5, Alternate damage types to Hornet would help tremendously.
One Rad can (usually) perma -regen via stacking, cold has half that capability. I haven't double checked that the Rad is as effective vs Rommy, but it's still at least twice as effective at -regen as the Cold.
Cold has more and different debuffs, that are brutal, but at 163 regen with massive resists, you either need alternate damage types or you really need to floor that regen somehow. THEN by all means, let the Cold, or even better a Cold/Sonic, destroy what stats are left to completely obliterate. At that point he'd drop like a rock.
A team of Lineas could completely ignore the regen issue, but I'm assuming approaching the issue from the weakest possible player position. Effectively assuming a team of 8 SO only Tier 4 Incarnates that are generating a composite 800 dps or less, that's halved, then cut in half again by resists, then cut again by the mechanics of the fight. You're left with less than 115 sustained dps vs 163 regen. At that point you're surging damage with pets till pets die or expire, or you need that -regen to kill him in any reasonable amount of time. At that point if I can only have one thing, it's going to be perma -regen.
Awesome explanations, as always. Thanks!!

Assuming 4-Star Hardmode, and NOT Speed Running.
Illusion/Rad are golden for the Hardmode ITF. Illusion to counter the <redacted>, and /Rad to help counter AV/GM regen.
For defender, I'd Say Rad/Sonic with Tactics, and Kismet. Add Vengeance if you can, people drop like flies in Hardmode. You may or may not need to add (Nerve or Vigor) for 4-Star Hardmode, depending on actual end build.
Rad better than Cold for AV debuffing? Do you mind sharing your thoughts on that? 🙂

But I have to say that this sounds very interesting and I will roll it too, at some point. Who knows? I may end up liking Corruptors more than Defenders 😛 (very unlikely xD)

It was entertaining, for sure 😄
-
I could be wrong, but as far as I know, top ST is Energy Melee, top AoE is probably Claws
-
I was so against Click Mezz protection, too. When I rolled my DM/Shield I set Mezz Protection as the auto power, and manually click hasten. Good thing about a DM/Shield is that you dont have that many powers to click, so having Hasten between my most used powers was easy.
Shield is kind of amazing, I definitely recommend it

In terms of secondaries, Cold Domination is the big one due to the fact that most of the powers aren't ones where you particularly care about the buff scale and the one power you really do care about the buff scale (Sleet) has the same -resist on both Defender and Corruptor.
I think you just sold me /Cold. This is exactly what I was looking for. As an extra I never played Cold before 😄
Now I'm undecided between Seismic (since it's the new kid), Ice (theme points!) and Water (theme + self heal). Oh well, I'm off on vacations in two days, I will decide it while I'm roasting in the pool 😄
Thanks all for your feedback!
-
mmm both /Emp and /Kin sound interesting... and probably Seismic for blast sounds good
-
I have a lot of Defenders. Everytime I start a new Corruptor, I end-up re-rolling it as Defender. I'm one of those people who prefer Defender over Corruptors.
But I should really get one Corruptor and level it to 50, because why not? Can't have a dozen defenders and no corruptors!
So, what would be the sets that you think play better on Corruptor?
-
Not Ice/Time, but you can have a look at my Energy/Time. It has softcap ranged defense and S/L resist cap. It shouldnt be too difficult to translate it to Ice, and you even get extra slots to play, since you don't need KB->KD

Thermal to add +res to your FF +def? Demons/Thermal it's a classic. It also provides a heal which you lack right now

I'm a big fan of my time/fire defender for when I think the SG is too melee heavy and I'm not in the mood to just add to the problem. Time provides massive mitigation and fire is... well, fire. And yea, this combo solos surprisingly well.
You can say that, I have one and it's a beast both solo and in groups. It's so powerful I get bored with her, that's why is not in my list. But truy, Time/* should be a contendent for the top spots

So, if you want to do something harder than usual (Mo-X, Hard Modes, 801...) and you could only pick one defender...what would you choose?
Other than Elec/*, please 🙂 I think Elec could be the obvious choice, imo is a bit OP.
My top three would be Dark/*, Nature/*, Storm/*, probably in that order.
