    Crazy amounts of knockdown and recharge, but you must use ageless to keep it running and even then when you are surrounded you may need to use transference.

    Hi, sorry, I haven't been playing at all for several months now and have not checked the forums. The devs nerfing RoP for contrived reasons despite all the protests and community feedback against it (why not raise other powers up to it's level, etc.) Really left a bad taste in my mouth. 

     

    So the short answer is yes, of course. Leveling up we want to 3 slot all our defense powers with endurance reduction and defense (lotg), make sure we have panacea, miracle, and numinas in health, and then 3 slot stamina with 2 end mods and a performance shifter. That should help out our endurance issues. We can also slot end an end proc in our heal (theft of ess nice I think)? Then another end proc from our corruptor ato. This should have us covered for end as we level.

    The single target damage of this build is not very good, but it really shines with AoE. Even on ST try to make sure that sleet is double applied and that you are focusing on the bosses after you soul drain a group. I run this on +4x8 everywhere and I can do that solo without too much time as long as I make sure to stack sleet and focus the bosses down after soul drain.

  4. I would at least consider something like this to make your defenses and resists at range very solid. You'll be capped at melee too with some team buffs and you can use the FF recharge procs for more overgrowth.

  5. When building a corruptor you have to ask if you want to depend on your team for your survivability and go for all recharge and damage or do you want to be a dps/tank hybrid in your own right. I almost always choose the latter for my builds, I sacrifice recharge and procs for defense and resistance. I think this is completely worth it because it allows me to solo very hard missions and not die in teams (I also always remember that my dps is 0 when I'm dead).

    My old Kintank builds had a problem, I keep getting hit by pure damage type ranged attacks. This could not stand ladies and gentlemen, how could I be a Kintank if I kept getting hit from accross the room? Forcing me to heal myself more often than I'd like (healing is lame guys, I want to pew pew). I set out to rectify this situation. 

     

    This is the newest build and now we have damn near softcapped ranged and fully capped s/l defense. This essentially makes us softcapped to 90-95% of all the attacks in the game because almost all melee attacks have an s/l component and most AoE attacks have a ranged/melee/s/l component. We still get good resistances and mez protection from rune of protection, but now even less attacks get to even hit us in the first place. With two siphon speeds up we have perma hasten. We also are at the acc cap to +3s and our repel still provides knockdown mitigation while proccing the +100% FF recharge IO. This build is capable of handling almost all content solo at +4x8. Dark Astoria at +4x8 is a little more difficult because you need to use some purples, but it is very doable. If you want to solo +4 AVs then you'll want at least aim, if not siphon power also. Once you have fulcrum shift, siphon power becomes useless outside of AV/GM fights, so I don't take it. 

     

    Oh, and yes you can get more ST dps on hard targets with flares over fireblast. I take fireblast because I pretty much exclusively use fireblast/flares to kill runners when scourging is very likely and with fireblast I only have to cast it to kill +4 things most of time, but with flares I need it and something else. Oh! And of course we are at the movement speed cap with sprint+ninja run+siphon speed so I do not find that super speed is necessary.

     

    In comparison to the previous build we lose some resistance, but gain the ranged softcap and get 10% more recharge to boot.

    I am very aware of how procable infigidate is. The most Dmg you can get out of it is 3 dmg procs for 215.25 dmg with a -20% res proc at a 1.188 sec cast time (arcana time). Don't get me wrong, those are some very very good numbers, but with a fully saturated soul drain water jet and dehydrate will beat that. Still, you do need 3 attacks with this much recharge on this build, so you use aqua bolt too, which even with soul drain will be beat by a proc'd out infrigidate. So infrigidate certainly wins with just soul drain, but if you are running at the dmg cap (a.k.a running with a kin) then aqua bolt will win with a dmg of 244.85. All of this is kind of besides the point though, but I did mention that I typically play this when someone else is playing a kin. The real problem for a corruptor lies in getting enough positional defense, global recharge, resists, heals, and dmg buffs to feel self sustainable when taking alpha strikes at +4x8. Using 6 slots in aqua bolt, an attack that I will use in my normal ST attack chain, is an efficient way to get 3.75% toward the ranged defense softcap. If you wish to use those slots in infrigidate, then by all means do it. For me, the difference between an almost softcapped character and a softcapped character is drastic at +4x8, especially when exemplared.

     

    *Ahem* I was wrong in my previous calculations, infrigidate even with the agility alpha beats dehydrate with soul drain, but still loses to water jet. New build with this and new sets in mind. This build also has a little more survivability and a lot more ST dmg (chain= infrigidate>dehyrdate>aqua bolt>water jet>infrigidate>water jet). If you don't plan on fighting a lot of AVs you can always swap benumb for super speed or something else. I don't feel I need a travel power most of the time with ninja run+sprint+jet pack.

  13. The entire time I worked on this, I felt I was trying to thread the needle between defense, recharge, resists, and procs. I tried to get the most of everything I could without sacrificing too much of anything, but I'm not entirely satisfied. I think this will work well considering the passive healing+regen+defense+resists, its not softcapped (first build I've made in a longtime that isn't), but hail of bullets should fix that for a little while. Hasten can be perma when you are mostly fighting groups with hail of bullets and bullet rain (ff procs), but it should be close even against a single target with casts of hail of bullets. Suppressive fire will hit like a truck and you will be able to anguishing cry+soul drain+hail of bullets+bullet rain to do some great damage to groups. You could take the slots out of tactics and play with those slots getting the res procs for 8% res to all at full HP if you feel that is better than 2.5% def to all positions or do something else. I felt that sense s/l res was already way over capped that I would rather have the defense. Anyway, enough chitchat:

    Its crap, don't use it after the changes drop. I'll post a different build when I figure out which direction I think is best. 

    *grumbles to himself* power with just 50% uptime with good recharge being nerfed into the ground, even though it takes a 3 power choice investment, two of which I never use, *grumble* ridiculous *grumble* let's all just take maneuvers, CJ, hasten, and weave and never customize *grumble* overperforming power my ass *grumble* melee ATs running around with better survivability and mez protection at all times *grumble* wtf are the devs thinking *grumble* why even ask for feedback if they don't listen to the community *grumble* corrs already in a difficult position finding a place in the game *grumble*

    This build really doesn't come online until you get the leap at 38 and then it becomes much better when you get world of confusion. That is a ton of levels to wait though and so I would suggest just leveling as a normal ice Dom with all the controlly goodness. Then respec once you are 38.

    For the energy resistance (a very common dmg type). You are free to change things as you see fit. 

     

    Yes, I use repel at all times post lvl 30 exemplared (you want to have access to transference or ageless before you run it at all times). 

     

    I play my kin toons as wrecking balls in their own right. I take the alpha, wait 1-2 seconds for the melees to arrive after me throwing in a howl/Taoe and then I fulcrum shift and follow it up with my t9.

    Ummmm, yes we did/do. If the changes go through to 60s, we won't, but as the author of a very popular fire/kin (plus helping tons of other people build their kins), I assure you that lots of kins use it. I don't need to use it though, if this change goes through I will simply post a break free combining macro in my thread with a new build that likely takes goes m/r softcap with an epic armor so that fire/kins have greater resistance overall, but now need to use break frees for mez protection. Which, honestly, is probably a stronger build overall (60-75% s/l res at all times is better than 60-75% half to 3/4 of the time), but I have been resisting needing to use inspirations and macros.

     

    The benefits of RoP with the recharge taken into account make it just worth it for me to take it. To be clear, if the duration was 75, I wouldn't take it on my fire/kin. If it was 80, I'd have to think about it and do some testing. A 3 power pick on a toon that has absolutely 0 natural resistance or defense is extremely strapped when they are looking for survivability. RoP is just barely worth it right now.

     

    RoP is often taken on squishies whose power sets lack natural defenses or resistances (like kinetics and poison) because it gives those toons a way to get those abilities at a cost of not being able to use it permanently and a 3 power sacrifice. It's a high price to pay, but it is often worth the trade off.

     

    I am also surprised to read you write (hear you say, but in forum speak maybe?) that blasters, kinetic corruptors, and cold domination users are at the top of the food chain when my brutes can go from mission to mission at +4x8 with softcapped defences, high resistances, high damage, and mez protection. According to the numbers, corruptors are not that common compared to brutes, scrappers, and blasters. There is a reason for this, those ATs often offer more power and ease of play to the user. 

     

    P.S. I am talking to you here, but really only in the first part, you were a good stand in for my writing voice to talk to, at no point do I mean to come across as attacking you. It was just easier to write as if I was talking to you the whole time.
