TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect Oh and you fought Crey VP Juan Fernandez wayyy back in 3.1 when you freed The Doctor from the Crey facility in Eden.

Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect And yes - the fact that Colleague flies makes the exit very reasonable for an escort mission with this much danger around. If you really love having her alongside - you can even summon her if you do a little more work for Wyvern via Sgt. Schorr. 🙂 Hammers of Justice: Colleague

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect If you enjoy the First Ward/Night Ward mobs/lore - All That Glimmers is all about the groups here. You might be seeing that soon, depending on what @TerroirNoir2 picks up next. (Presuming @TerroirNoir keeps going of course...) 🙂

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect I always wanted it to be about The Dead Milkmen and a bitchin' camero, or a big lizard in someones back yard, or someone who will dance to anything by Book of Love, or a punk rock girl, but you know - that's probably just me... 🙂

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect @Darmian - I loved exploring all the oddities in Nightward that you shared, like the ghost heroes, the angel, the demons. Plus the one I found! The dead milkman... 🙂

All That Glitters Series - Vigilante - [1 - 54]Ankylosaur replied to Ankylosaur's topic in Mission Architect You know, that post, above started with just some small things but caused me to move several things around. When I integrated the new Gold Brickers, I was so focused on Zoe, and swapping in the high end AU Gold Brickers, that I did not pay enough attention to the change in story from the mid down. I plugged holes, putting Princes Zoe in for Dalton and Mr. Rodney in for Carmella, but did not really re-think it - and @TerroirNoir playthrough made me realize a few things - in particular that 1.3 and 2.3, section finales - did not end with a big win/fight. Mr. Rodney (as a OOB mob who spans in different forms) 8-54, presented an opportunity to span the whole thing. The integration of the Mooks in 2.x and 3.x could carry a thread forward. So this took me back to an early post in this thread about who the Langston's are and what their motivations are. I kind of subbed in the new Gold Brickers into their old roles, without looking with fresh eyes.

All That Glitters Series - Vigilante - [1 - 54]Ankylosaur replied to Ankylosaur's topic in Mission Architect More updates as I watch @TerroirNoir play through Glitters. I see opportunities to do small improvements and so I do... Nothing plot-related - but some big refinements in the lower levels to add more punch to the missions and in particular the x.3 finales.

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 1.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir's topic in Mission Architect In Wonderland, on one of those Croatoa maps you mentioned, I'm even more direct. 🙂 [Note: It's a big map with optional encounters. Bring patience and be ready to explore. Rescue The White Knight to help you fight The Jabberwock; avoid The Caterpillar's Toadstool!]

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 1.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir's topic in Mission Architect Sometimes just a mission entry pop-up can help too. "You grit your teeth and resolve yourself to the manhunt ahead. Vinny could be anywhere from the highways above to the byways below." to remind people of places that might not occur to them. I certainly rarely use the spirit guide trick - it's not often it can fit in story-wise, I recently did use it on the Atlas map mentioned earlier. The Skyway map is deceptive because it is quite large. Because of the multi-tier level of it, I ended up using it in a higher level mission - not that anyone doesn't have travel powers at low levels - just they usually feel safer with defense or have more tools like stealth at higher levels to turn unexpected corners.

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect @cranebump - It's basically a prison door, and it's probably an error that it shows up at all, but it's a more convincing portal than the "Mystical Portal Well" at least. 🙂 If you add a boss, and look wayyyy down the list past all those Longbow Wardens in the Longbow mob, you will see "Reinforced Door" as an option. You could do a whole 2001 thing with it.

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect One of those weird little things in AE - finally found a use for them. 🙂

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect Bruto Louie is supposed to be a Mook too (I mean it's all Family I suppose, but this is just reinforcing the schism and their distribution role). - maybe I forgot to update his boss group... And it is a lot of glowies - not the last time either. I decided that they always seem to give you loads of space for them on these maps - why not fill up a few maps to make the point that there is a lot of stuff. Less important here since the warehouses already have a lot of boxes, but still.

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 1.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir's topic in Mission Architect Ah - the spirit guide conversation with @Zhym has cropped up again. 🙂 That map has a lot of "rescue" spots. I sometimes use local friendly escorts to help you pinpoint a target and save the endless wandering. @cranebump - if you want to try it, set the map to empty and the escorts to empty/non-combat with the destination of Positron. If the player stumbles into one of the escorts, they get a waypoint marker. End of the world? Use the ghosts mob and you get random dead spirits who want to get vengeance by pointing the way for you.

Having difficulty constructing a mission...Ankylosaur replied to Ultimo's topic in Mission Architect I tried something like this recently with one of the shops, and had to forgo much of the dialog. My shop owner could fight though. Went like something like this... Map set to empty Boss 1 - front - store owner. Spouts unaware text when you enter. He is set to empty Boss 2 - PPD - surrounded by PPD with flashlights The place has several objects with clues that the player can click on to investigate the scene. In the description of the "Completed" text you can say something like: The store owner looks at you funny and says, "There is a book missing from that bookcase now that you mention it." or something. One of the glowies also triggers the ambush you are after. Maybe there are pieces of that you can use? (If you want to see it in action is the very first mission in All That Glows 2.1: Nictus Among Us)

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect All those bow-and-arrow heroes always seemed pretty brutal - running people through with piercing weapons is pretty extreme. Big bloody mess if you accidentally go after the wrong person because they were framed. I suppose though so is burning them alive or hitting them with an axe, or just plain ole shooting them with bullets or any number of "heroic" powers.

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect Actually the Riki Transformation pods is how they are augmenting themselves to avoid radiation... I may need to make that more clear. (Originally, they were making/using their own Revenants so I may have missed an update there. When I did the pass to integrate the new Gold Brickers, I decided that their own Revenant army unnecessarily overcomplicated things, and the robots made more sense. Never mind that the Praetorian DE have ACU and BCU units that are infected. I never could figure out how the DE infected robots to work for them exactly, but what can you do...)

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir2's topic in Mission Architect We get it? Tell that to @TerroirNoir3. 🙂 And - just curious - does the previous cable channel have a pic limit too? Could you just keep going there but posting as @TerroirNoir2?

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 1.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir's topic in Mission Architect @TerroirNoir, I published an arc: All That Glitters: The Forgotten, which is a single map - the flooded city map - filled with ConDev and my old Custom Gold Brickers. It's there just in case you want to see what they were like before I replaced them with the expanded Gold Bricker mob - maybe after you finish the whole thing. It is not a story - just a way to display the mobs.

Thanks for the suggestion - and for running through some of ATG! Unfortunately, I've done way too many of these to redo the approach. 🙂 The big limiting factor is that a single color tag takes up 23 of your limited characters - doing it twice for one person's comment is a lot of characters. Long ago, when I first tried this with Rularularian, I experimented with quotes too but decided it felt redundant in the end. Again - leaving them off was a way to scrape a few more characters out of the limit. I left the characters name in because while the color is a visual queue to who is speaking, I didn't want the reader to have to remember each color code without the support of the character's name. And not nitpicking - all ideas and feedback are welcome.

TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 1.Ankylosaur replied to TerroirNoir's topic in Mission Architect I have often thought exactly the same things. I should do souvenirs. People can't be expected to recall all this and a little "Previously On..." would be helpful. I never look at souvenirs. Ergo, no one else will remember to go do that. So then I don't bother... 🙂
