  1. For my 3D corruptor I dropped Moonbeam from my endgame build entirely. There is no room for it in my rotation of Gloom>Dark Blast>Life Drain & when you get Incarnates that provide range boost their even better. Additionally do not understand a D3 Corruptor opening up with Moonbeam, instead of a Tar pit, TT, Darkesnight, Fearsome stare, etc... & during battle can't use it... and if its instacast its still going to be slow recharge... which is why I like the much faster abilities for my rotation. However I do realize I play my character differently than most as I stay in melee range to use my PBAoE abilities Void/Blackstar & making sure TG can catch my team's melee which is unlikely if I am at the edge of the battle.
  2. Thanks for the feedback so far... Ya.. leveling Nightfall had a different feeling... Now with my incarnates in play... I play the game in melee range most of the time, using my controls, heals, dps etc... supporting the troops. Playing at range, you quickly notice your short radius of Twilight Grasp & you heal half or less of your party. When I play at range is when Nightfall is still useful but even then, its narrow cone rarely targets more than 3 & usually only 2 or 3... I have zero trouble grabbing whole groups with TT its a staple of my play.

  4. So I am level 50 with all my Incarnates T3 (one T4) & I am looking over my build carefully based upon how often I use skills & when I do use them their effect on the battle. Darkest Night for example I do not use often (on Bosses only), but when I do, its effect is considerable. Then their are obvious powers like Fearsome Stare which I use multiple times in every battle. As I further look at my powers the one that stands out for least effective tool in my tool box is Nightfall. I have it 6 Slotted with Superior Frozen Blast and the set bonuses are considerable. However I infrequently use this ability. My Rotation is Gloom, Dark Blast & Life Drain (slotted for damage), no place for nightfall in that. Next we have its purpose, as AOE damage usually thought of in combination with an immobilize like Tenebrous Tentacles. Its cone is not the same as TT its much narrower. I find I usually grab 2-3 mobs of a larger pack when casting Nightfall, which is very good. That is equivalent to 3 dark blasts with 1 cast! But I do that infrequently. Usually (solo or in a group) I cast TT to immobilize a section of the battle, while I focus my firepower on what is on the loose, my PBAoE abilities are Incarnate Void & Blackstar which are far superior to Nightfall for many mobs in an uncontrolled mass. Obviously their is a vast difference in recharge time, range etc.. Then what is left over I mob up with the team, using all my tools including Nightfall... but the truth is.. I don't need to use Nightfall. So what is this post about? I am not asking for build advice and which skill to replace Nightfall with (I know what I would do, increase number of enhancements in more frequently used abilities, getting set bonuses etc...) & the 6 slots distributed will make abilities I use frequently better. What I am looking for is your thoughts and feedback on the power Nightfall. Your frequency of use, your views on its value to you, and any thoughts you may want to express on this subject. I plan to continue to play with Nightfall for awhile, working on my non-Nightfall build option carefully,,,, and consider my options in a few days or a week. Looking forward to everyone's thoughts on Nightfall.

  6. Great feedback thank you so very much! I just went on test server and slotted Knockback on all Battle axe abilities to see if they stayed kd but longer.... alas they became kb. I have narrowed down my choices to War Mace & Electric.... so now I shall write my bio and whichever bio I think is better will be born! Thank you all PS.... while I have you all here,,,, Which skills do I skip in Willpower, War Mace and Electric Melee?

  8. Thanks for all the replies so far its been great. I am familiar with Dark ran a dark/dark brute... but hated fury mechanic and shadow maul animation frustrated me, rest of dark is solid... pondering.... Besides Fire and War Mace.... is Katana or staff just as reasonable a choice.... meaning with a few exceptions like Titan weapons (endurance) or MA (benefits more from min/max) the rest are fairly "simple & effective". Still with simple in mind... I have a Knockback/Knockdown question; Looking at Battle Axe, many of its powers have KnockDown and pines says its 0.67 KB if I slot them with all force feedback it rises to 1.8 KB... what does that actually mean? What mobs can it Knockdown that it could not with KB 0.67? The reason I am asking is it would be funny as heck to have a casual melee guy that walks into a room and keeps bosses & elite bosses (not AV's...) on their rears... knocked down :)
  9. So... I asked around... and everyone says Willpower is the simplest effective secondary around. So what is the simplest effective primary? By simple I mean no "must use Eagle Claw then you have 2.7 seconds of buff to min/max your rotation" requirement. I have a preference for ST over AOE, with survivability more important than killing faster. Thanks in advance for the input.
  10. Khy, Clockworks is a fine choice if KB is ok with your playstyle. Elimination of KB was by far my #1 consideration
  11. Agreed 100%... also if your bot is dead cant do any damage.... so keeping it alive is vital and Support looks like a great tool to do that
  12. I did not find any list of powers other than which ones did and did not have knockback which turned out to be wrong! I ended up looking at my theme, "Terror" as a construct with Robots/Dark, then looking at all the dark/construct powers like Clockworks, warworks, Phantoms, then looking ingame for any with knockbacks and discarding them "clockworks have knockbacks as an example", (My build/playstyle requires no KB or KB to KD ok), then looked at their attacks; ranges aoe, Single target, melee etc... deciding I wanted a ST Melee heavy Lore pet which led me to Warworks as my choice. I can't tell you what will be best for you... if you do not care about theme... Cimeroran's which I chose for my Corruptor is considered the "Best" Lore selection overall from all my research, however... how much better they are than Warworks I have no idea without a lot of in game testing... In the case of Void, T4 does not give a level shift, same radius, the only difference being effecting 32 or 24 targets Max. With that knowledge I can avoid farming for Void and just select the T3 choice.   15. Agreed, 4 is solid, problem is against a tough foe that is knocking you down.... you will look back on your choice of 4 while staring at the ceiling tiles wondering if that extra damage your not using at the moment was worth it :P
  16. What economy? Once you have your Main to 50 with all his possible Enhancements working on Incarnates.... what do you spend INF on other than the occasional P2W selection like Back-up radio or Defensive Amplifier at a fixed price? The problem with COH was and still is no INF sink other than another alt which at some point, will end. So given a reasonable amount of time, just about anyone can max-out their main character and 1 alt, with ease. Then its the few people who will have 10 or 20 level 50 alts that will be impacted & they probably have a farmer than can generate 50 million INF in under an hour. If we really want to be constructive to the future of COH, we can help the developers come up with INF sinks that are easy to implement, meaningful to the player, without tilting existing game balance.

  19. Very interested in your feedback of Hybrid Support vs Melee for general play. You switched it up for this run and you felt it was a better choice.... is that solely because of taunt/heal damage on you versus your troops providing more protection than Supports Defense buff... or are there other factors as well? I have already made the decision that Clarion is a better choice than Barrier by reading in detail the way Barrier works.

I have been testing incarnates.. specifically "Interface" options finding the Dot is appearing far less than 25% of the time at T2 for Reactive for example and when it does appear, it appears for one tick. Someone else on the MM Discord also tested theirs (at T4) and had similar results. During your testing assuming you have Interface ability with a Dot, what rate of appearance did you see the dot, how many ticks did you see, and were their any stacks or overwrites?
  21. the dot should do more damage with the lt's and the boss pet. i generally go with degenerative as reducing max hp also reduces regen rate. testing on a nasty +4 ghost widow in the oro arc it was night and day how fast she dropped between the resist interface and the degen. The dot is not appearing. It is showing up at less than 5% rate on every bot T1/2/3 (for me at Tier 2 ability) & it appears to be only 1 Tick of a dot. What Tier is your Interface ability? Have you checked your combat logs for the Dot's specific damage? Are you getting more than one tick? Does it stack with any other ticks that you see or are they overwritten?
  22. Tested T2 Reactive Radial Interface Adds a damage resistance debuff proc (25% chance) and a moderate Fire damage over time proc (25% chance) to most damaging attacks. After 20 minutes of testing with Battle Drones It appeared less than 10% of the time and when it did 6.56 points once each time. There was no way to test stacking because its appearance was so rare. Maybe someone with a 50% chance could test and get some information?
  23. Thank you for your detailed feedback! :) 1. I actually have almost no endurance issues in combat ever. Not sure why Pines is indicating its an issue ??? 2. I chose Power Boost only because the other options are worse. I use it mainly before Petrifying Gaze and/or Web Cocoon to lock down bosses for longer time, improve my fear and - to hit buffs so it does do enough... but happy to swap it out for a more worthwhile power, just don't see one. I am not an oppressive Gloom fan for example. 3. I will look to fix that on the Protector bots. What should the bot accuracy be for each of the bots? And it appears my choice will be to drop call to arms with its 20' radius def aura for accuracy improvement, I do not see the benefit in slotting it in Battle Drones, right? 4. Petrifying Gaze/Web cocoon with Lockdown+2 proc locks down (pun intended) a boss each and every time it is cast. Slotting with Basilisk, it will never hold a Boss. So if I 4 slot would be with Lockdown. 5. One suggestion I was given on discord is to drop Mace mastery for Soul swapping Dark Embrace for Scorpion Shield, & relying on my -to hit Debuff's for my defense.   24. Looking to min/max my level 50 Dark/Dark/Dark. I am including as much information as I can, so that anyone interested can help. My current Incarnates are: Alpha Cardiac, Interface Diamagnetic, Judgment Void, Lore Cimeroans, Hybrid Assault, Destiny Clarion. I am at T4 one side on each, willing to change them out for better suggestions. The way I play is Point Blank in the middle of the action as often as possible. Between my defenses, my Holds/Immobilize/Fears/Slows etc.. & my To-Hit debuffs, I feel fairly robust in the thick of it. Then when Void & Blackstar are up..PBAoE fun! My Combat rotation is Gloom+Dark Blast+Life Drain Things I am considering: 1. Dropping Nightfall, I rarely use this skill & when I do its usually on two targets rarely 3. I could replace with 2 slotted Tactics, Dark Pit & use the remaining 4 slots for a variety of improvements such as; 4-5 slot Fearsome Stare, 3-4 slot Petrifying Gaze, 4-5 slots in maneuvers, recharge reduction in Howling Twilight... however I need to watch that I carefully replace the lost set bonuses Thanks in advance for any suggestions on improving my build and your feedback is most welcome!   25. Looking to min/max my level 50 Robot/Dark/Mace MM. I am including as much information as I can, so that anyone interested can help. I just choose my Alpha Intuition and plan to test that & Agility before finalizing. For now my focus is on my slotting and skill choices. I do not always use bodyguard mode, as I am directing my bots targets, usually I direct the Battle Drones & Assault Bot to attack F2 & leave protector bots in bodyguard mode F3 being my reset command after target is down. In combat I rarely get attacked using Petrifying Gaze, Web Cocoon, Fearsome Stare, Twilight Grasp, Tar Patch, Darkest Night, & Howling Twilight liberally. I am not taunting mobs to fight me as I have yet rarely seen the need (will consider melee hybrid with Taunt if this changes). My game is to control, between all my controls & to-hit debuff's game is feels quite comfortable.
