Grabbed some random screenshots from the vigil through out the day. In game people were coming up, saying they didn't know them, and raising a torch. People came and went from 12:30pm to 5am and were still there when I left. These are the people I posted this for.

I don't even know what to say. The way all of this has gone is leaving me massively disillusioned. When people try to show they care and you show them why you shouldn't... people stop trying. -
Anything to make it so you arent draging a bunch of things would make this a lot nicer! Some respecs are to get out of a leveling build, and for example plenty of mine use the summer blockbuster ATO but the final build doesn't. Respec vs unslotters is obvious. This is a great idea, or if not, draws attention to something that's frustrated me, too!

Thank you for proving that I have not lost my mind. Felt like a tossup for a minute there. ...it also probably says more about me that Winter's Gift didn't occur to me but badges did. ...I'll show myself out.

We need another global channel, Player Events
Kistulot replied to kelika2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I remember watching LFG/General/Pocket D Broadcast when every 20 minutes, there'd be the same copy pasted post. That? Was obnoxious. Things being limited to once an hour for people who've freshly logged on felt like a much sweeter spot. That said, I dunno if there's any way to make the perfect LFG channel for everyone? The Everlasting TFs channel for instance explicitly states no DFB. Spam for the one trial can get really annoying to some people, but I know other people really like it! My big question that comes to mind is: if we remove costume contests, club nights, MSRs, Hamidons, and the Labrynth from LFG... ...doesn't that just make lfg incomplete? I'm not saying the idea has no merit, it just feels like something the community has effectively already solved with chat channels 🙂 -

Seeing that Scary Sai's post is no longer there, and I find myself asking why. -

That? Fair. It is kind of difficult then to discuss the issues in said posts, but I'm betting that's a software thing... -

...holy crap you do this and you make them base items and I'd pay for this. -

They did not respond to my response, and I consider that unsatisfactory. They explained their points and I countered them. If you think that there's nothing more to be said then you're probably better off doing anything else with your time than posting to tell me I'm wasting my time when it's probably pretty clear that's not going to sway me. -

Kistulot replied to Kistulot's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
My response was directly addressing the topic. I appreciate that the post was removed, but it does nothing to address the fact that, yes, that behavior is being encouraged when all that happens is the exact post is deleted and it's treated as though it's just a spot to sigh and go "c'mon, be better than this." Effectively that just means it's going to keep happening, and continue to disrupt conversations and lead to no one being happy. At some point, a choice has to be made about what kind of community you want to be moderating, and not making one is a choice. You did. I'd reiterate, but I think that would get me censured. Sincerely, I went into this expecting that, y'know, people would be pretty open minded to a situation like the one I brought up. Not really feeling great about that at the moment, not gonna lie. -

A list of names is a list. Character models are not. Text in MMOs is notoriously overlooked. It's a pretty common joke that no one knows half the text for anything, and the joke is there because it holds some truth to it. Let's go with, say, putting the NPCs in Echo Plaza, a place that's largely unused besides as a dayjob spot or rare costume contests. Let's say 10% of the currently online population dies every year who actively has someone wanting a memorial, no questions asked. That feels a bit much, even with our pop only being 1,537, but let's go with it for the sake of argument. 153 NPCs on a single map ain't something this game struggles with. It wouldn't be a blur, and it would mean more than text. Alternatively, what's being done in the Echo maps, IE, Echo:Atlas, that couldn't fit an influx of NPCs? There are solutions to this that show the same respect for HC's fallen that was shown for Virtue's. -

Kistulot replied to Greycat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They'd need to add that in, too, wouldn't they? I'm not saying it would be impossible, but I feel like part of the issue with these 'generic one size fits all' is that it inherently just becomes a blur. The blatant favoritism showed to those who died before HC is very easily rectified. -

...and I've discussed why I feel the favoritism angle is not a helpful angle because it's outright already being shown. We may not be owed them, but when one is not given addressing concerns, and those concerns continue to exist? Sorry, I'm going to keep addressing them until they are and I don't care if I don't have a piece of paper that says 'I.O.U. One Dev Response.' -

It's a valid opinion from everything I've said 🙂 That said, I also don't see the value in going quiet personally. I get seeing it as pointless to do more than speak your peace and move on, but that's not where I stand! That said, you've got a damn fine point. It is the internet, but I feel like the REASON it becomes like that is because people accept it. If someone is rude, abusive, nasty, unhelpful, etc... I've administrated forums. I still administrate discords. There are tools to solve these problems. There are helpful, and unhelpful, ways to address community strife. I don't feel like we really need to make room for people who are making a place unpleasant. I feel like at a certain point you show them the door. Who you show the door, how you show them the door, and when, says a lot about the values of a community. Choosing not to do so is a choice that can, unfortunately, show a lot. -
It's always there, but I swear I wasnt able to buy badges before december...

Dismissive, and Troll Encouraging Behavior
Kistulot replied to Kistulot's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm going to drag things back a little bit here, if you'll forgive me doing so. The fact that long, carefully thought out posts, or even short responding to the community reps for HC that aren't smiling and nodding are not receiving reaction while what's being responded with is at best inconclusive is more my concern with this thread. I do take issue with the entire memorial system, but I'm going to keep getting private messages from people telling me why I shouldn't bother not for any reason that they feel I'm wrong... ...but because there is a fundamental trust issue with what counts for civil conversation and what is actually listened to and I continue to see more and more of why. Edit: I tried to write both "I'm continuing" and "I continue" at the same time and it lead to a horrible abomination against the English language. As a published author, sometimes a gal's gotta fix these things. The edited portion is in bold. -

Kistulot replied to Greycat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If your dad, or your mom, played the game then I would be pushing every bit as hard for both of them. Suggesting possibilities that even those suggesting in authority don't believe they can guarantee is not a satisfactory first step. We've done it before. We can do it again. -

Kistulot replied to Greycat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Huh, I mighta missclicked on something or the like, or I'm just not seeing it now. I'll be fine with either. Dunno where that came from. I'll cop to that. That said? If I was simply talking nonsense from grief I don't believe that anyone would be agreeing with me besides the similarly grieving. But that has not been the case. Again, the homecoming staff are welcome to dismiss discussion on this topic and make it clear they aren't willing to discuss my responses to their rationale, but until they do, and possibly even after, I intend to continue to carry on discussing this. You can attempt to psychoanalyze my actions, but I'll make it a bit easier for you after I go through the DSM with my therapist tomorrow and get a diagnosis. For the moment, I'd appreciate avoiding that. 🙂 -
This is such a good point. Being able to hadoken is SO COOL, and imho, should be something everyone wants to take... but you aren't going to be using it to range your opponent. Not how the game works.

Troll 🖤 I'm going to (politely, and with due respect to your point) request not continuing posts like this juuuuuust to keep the talk going? But I want you to know you're seen, and appreciated. 🥰 -
It might be silly, but what I'd love most of all is for it to be easier to create in game maps, so you can have an AE that leads in to "now go to /enterbasefrompasscode THISARC-THESENUMBERS" after someone drops a portal, and bam, same room. The praetorian tiles are super useful, but I think all of them would work pretty well for this! Just sharing a thought 🙂

Just clipped this part to keep the post short, buuuut... Thank you. Sincerely. Your support as this situation has gone along has been very appreciated. You've articulated this really well in a jovial way that I don't trust myself to do right now. I appreciate it a lot. Thank you for trying to look out for me. 🙂 I value that you've had these frustrations to the point you've given up. Maybe if I'd been as active on here as you have I'd be in the same boat by this point! I certainly can't argue with what you've said as far as how I would feel about it. But City of Heroes, and the homecoming shards specifically, are important to me. I've told stories, made friends... it's been one wild ride and I've loved it. I want to keep on loving it for a long time. My only intention was to follow through on what people in game were telling me they wanted. I had no idea the experience would go like this... and Maybe I'm more stubborn than sensible. This would not be the first time it was suggested... ...but I care. I care, and I believe it's worth being stubborn about.
