  1. I think it has to be the 5th Column, because they're literal Nazis. The Circle of Thorns and the Banished Pantheon are more... existential threats? Their goals feel like madness. I don't know what it would be like to have my soul obliterated and to cease to exist. None of us do. But we understand what the fascists want, and we've seen what that looks like. The Column and the Council are a deeply human sort of evil. Vampires and Warwolves, sure, but at the end their goals are something I can recognize in real life.
  2. I would like to have a sleeveless bullet proof vest I can put over the rest of a costume, either as a jacket or chest detail. A jacket might be preferable, because in my fantasy I can put a symbol on it, but I'm ecstatic with either. Maybe something like what MALTA wears, but sleeveless?
  3. I think the answer to this should be "I doubt anyone would notice if the cars changed colors." It will neither help nor hinder the game as a whole for this to take place. People who get the reference will have a chuckle, and to everyone else they're two cars next to one another. And, as has been stated, I have no idea how possible or easy such a request is. If it is easy, I see no reason why not. If the change would take more than 15 min, it's probably not worth doing. And I know the answer to "why" was danced around, but once someone posted the FOP video I got it. I would not have noticed in the wild, but that's because it's not for me. Frankly, I don't care what references are in there as long as it's not bigotry.
  4. Plus, the symbols work on the front of the jackets, so the technology to put them on the back, in theory, exists. But I don't understand how any of this works, so I may be wrong.
  5. I do. I mean exactly like that.
  6. I don't know how possible it is, but is it possible to put Symbols on the back of jackets, but I think it would be cool? I couldn't find another thread about it. Also, because I've been here a bit, I know Symbols is under the Chest Detail menu, but there's a beret under half helmets, sometimes a label is just a label. I don't think it will hurt anything's credibility to make that possible.
  7. As a solo player, Inspirations have dragged my ass through all sorts of content I just couldn't manage on my own. I appreciate the ability to do that as it exists now. But, okay, lets say for a moment that nerfing inspirations went forward. What do we get? What is the benefit to the game, how does my experience change, in this world? Because I don't see it.
  8. Maybe a little bit of the Yerks from Animorphs, too? Then people could be running around as sleeper agents for the "greater good." Maybe they even slipped over with some of the Praetorian refugees. Then their Devouring cross pollinate with ours, and who knows what that looks like.
  9. I'm a band-aid fix guy. I do my thing over in the corner and try not to contradict the main lore. My Incarnates are all wielding part of an artifact that, like Excalibur with Hero 1, gives them Incarnate abilities. They started out less powerful than the signature heroes, so even bumped up they're not really on Positron's level. As for the main lore? I kind of like that there's something where all the big brains of Paragon are stumped. That it defies comprehension. Everybody's scanning and aura reading and trying to nail down how the Well works and the answer just always comes back "We know it does work, but this is something that, if we did understand it, would probably drive us jibberingly, Lovecraftian levels of mad."
  10. I don't think you know how Forums work.
  11. Oh man, an aura where my character is holding a wand or a staff or a book or a gun, would solve... pretty much every request I've got?
  12. Except, for all the reasons in this thread, it is a bad idea. It doesn't fit in the game thematically. It doesn't fit the game mechanically. It doesn't do anything that doesn't already exist in the game. And buddy, if you can't sell me on "lets add more options," you're probably not even explaining what you want well. A "Magic" power set is a bad idea. Just set this down and walk away.
  13. Wouldn't the best answer to "I don't want assault rifle without the rifle" be "then don't play one?" Nobody I've seen was pitching "take guns out fully" just "lets have some alternate animations." The specificity of "well they would have to add a thing that takes away hand customization" is weirdly prescriptive on a game designed so you can play your hero your way. All this is to say, personally, I'm in favor of options I don't even want to play with, just so there's another tool in the toolbox. And if the sticking point is the name? Then they can change the name of the power set.
  14. I don't know how difficult/possible this is, but for thematic purposes, something I would like for the various ranged powersets is to have the option to look like it was shot from a weapon. Like, apply the animations from dual pistols or Beam Rifle to my character, but the actual power projected is Fire Blast or Sonic Attack. I think it would grant greater customization to characters, (I would also love it if I could have them cast things using a wand or a staff for Magic origin, but that seems like it would involve a bunch of brand new animations so I'm sticking with the guns thing)
  15. I think, for the purposes of this game in particular, freedom is superior to prescriptive. Being able to apply the powers and stats I like to whatever avatar I build has always been part of the fun. I think adjusting stats based on appearance would take away from that. Also, OP's replies have a little bit too much bio-essentialism for me, especially in a world full of aliens and magic robots. So, as if it was up for a vote, I vote no.
  16. There's no way around it, we're always going to be at war with the Rikti. Because War? War never changes.
  17. How about, conversely, someone named "HeroCorp's Statesman." After Marcus Cole's death, the company trademarked the name, so now they have an employee running around using it. And it's the whole thing every time, "Thank you for saving me, HeroCorp's Statesman!" Would that be acceptable?
  18. It's mostly my trying to understand my hero's motivation and disposition. As you play through the game you participate in events that took place in the past, so you're moving through time as you level up. But I'm trying to pin down things like, at max level, from my character's perspective, how long has Statesman been dead? Was that weeks ago and it's still fresh? Or has Paragon city been without it's nominal Paragon for years now? The Mot Crisis was, as we see in this thread, in March of 2012. Are people's bruises still fresh, or have the nightmares had time to fade? I'm just the sort of dork that wants his headcannon to fit within the official framework.
  19. So the live version of the game shut down in 2012, and I think at the time the in universe calendar roughly matched up to the real world. But, like, is that still true? Is this one of those comic book sliding timescale things where now is always now? Or did time pause for the seven years between live and homecoming and it's 2017 in Paragon City? What is the date, in universe?
  20. Why do people feel the need to advocate for the devil? Either you're stating your own opinion and want to use "just asking questions" as cover, or you're intentionally taking a position you don't believe so you can, what, argue with people about it? For fun? Get a grip.
