  1. Basically where you can pick any power from any AT for that Tier but then it excludes all the other Tier powers from that level. Of course make any exceptions as needed. 

    Do this for Primary and Secondary and even Power Pools. 

    EG 
    Tier 1 whip from demon summoning 
    Tier 2 Buckshot from Assault Rifle 
    Tier 3 Typhoons Edge from Dual Blades.. 
    ETC..

    You know I didn't even think of the whips attacks doing that, but that sounds like a great idea.. Maybe spawn those hell on earth minions. 

    I was more interested in a power set with these 2 combinations.  
    I wouldn't even mind having whips as a power pool. 

    I am telling you the Necro minions the attacks spawn are very helpful. 
    I am using soul mastery and clean combination.

    I don't want to get all Meta and stuff. 
    But I thought that was the premise of dying, that once dead you lost your soul. That coming back and UNDEAD ( which is clearly not Living) you don't have a soul. 

    I just Googled this and got various answers related to DnD.. 
    But the consensus is zombies have no souls. Liches have their souls hidden. 
    No clue where Grave Knights stand but I am thinking Undead.. 


    Soul extraction clearly says depends on the type of undead you extract it from.. 

    All this being said, I would say Soul Extraction should work on a NPC and once the NPC is dead you get the extra pet based on the NPC level. Minion, LT, Boss..  
    Maybe chain it.. 
    Example.

    You soul extract a minion. 

    While soul extraction pet is alive. Using soul extraction on the next minion will make your current soul extracted a bit stronger maybe refresh the duration. A third extraction of a minion on this already soul extracted pet would now make it LT level and refresh the duration. Killing a LT while this soul extracted pet would increase it to Boss level and refresh the duration. 

    And the this duration should be steady and not this mysterious number of how long it MIGHT stay..  Let players know the duration based on the Rank.. 

    So

    3 minions = LT 

    2 LT = Boss

    3 minions + LT = Boss

     

    If you to spice it up and put a wildcard in it.. 
    You can soul extract Elite Bosses and even an AV  BUT it has a chance to turn on you randomly.. So one moment it can be fighting on your side then turn against you then, you regain control and it is fighting on your side.  You can make it DPS based.. Meaning if you take a good hit, that hit breaks your control.  

    You could even add in depending on the mob you kill the soul extracted pet will have different attacks..

    Please let me know what other suggestions you want in future pages.. So I can write it up and get it approved for you.

     

    Soul Extraction

    • Recharge lowered form 600s to 300s.
    • Only works on active Henchmen, not Specters.
    • Will extract the soul from each Henchman for 60s before the Souls vanish.
    • The extracted souls are still linked to their bodily hosts, if the host of a soul is defeated, the soul will also be defeated.

  4. Mastermind have had endurance issues for years.. 

    I posted this several times on this forum. 

    This is a compounding issue.

    Masterminds can do amazing things if the build is fine tuned and everything works out right.. 

    OR

     

    They flop like a stack of cards. 

    And like many primaries and secondary's when you pick the correct 2 its better. 
    EG.. Sentinel DP/Super Reflexes.. Yes lower DPS but full defense cap easily, same for Ninjutsu. 

    It's these things that just pile on top of each other. 
    As a simple example Range Cap hover blaster, easily obtained on all blasters. That alone can put you at a 3/8 mission setting. But you also have some extra powers you can pick that are not conducive to obtaining this type of build

    These types of things are not always possible on Masterminds. 
    Even when they fixed group fly, you would think having flying armada of robots would be good, but it wasn't  it was just too clunky and unless you had a outdoor mission it was useless.  Pets would get stuck all over the place. 

    With Masterminds its death by many cuts.. 

    Again as I have also said.. I just believe Masterminds are just too hard for the devs to handle.  How the coding is set up.. So on and so forth.. Too much effort for possibly so little results or even no results.. 

    Do you tackle an issue in all these 4 archtypes sentinel, blaster, corruptor, brute in 20 hours OR do you "TRY" to fix a mastermind issue.. Limited time would dictate I can fix 4 issues instead of hoping to fix 1. 

    Again no clue, as the devs never said hey this is the issue, changing the endurance numbers breaks this or that for them. 
    All I know is they had this discord chat, which is listed and the request are there.. 

    As another example to my point.. They "Fixed" the Robot bubble issue, but this fix came with a decrease in defenses. So its clear they couldn't fix it without the loss as it was too much trouble. 

    But still they are an unique archtype for any game.

  5. I thought you got a audio on low endurance ?

    I used to see script programs that would auto heal. 
    It wasn't a HACK.. It was more for training skills up or resource gathering in a game.. I seen this in Ultima Online 30 years ago..  Basically you would record all your actions and then the script would emulate all the movements. Many used it for farming..  

    Back in those days resources where 7 dollar per 1k, Ore, Wood.. ETC.. 

    Here it doesn't honestly do much since you can afk fire farm from what I understand..




     

  6. There is a thread in general forums about power pool toons. 

    Basically the rule is you pick 2 powers from your primary and secondary until level 4 where power pools are available. 
    Then you can ONLY pick powers from the power pools to build your character.
    So don't need to tell you, many cool builds which are capped out with defenses and resistances with IOs.

    I have created a few and they work out decently.. There were some key powers sets that worked well. Like shield and Ninjutsu. 
    I also have many Petless and Semi-Petless masterminds.

    I would love to see a Massive power pool where you have the option to picked several powers at a specific level as per the norm, but then other powers are grayed out.  
    As you can see to some degree the builds are set up in such way where you don't have the total option to gimp yourself  IF you work with Invention set bonuses(<- That is key )

    But I also get they don't want you having the best powers from each set or power pool as well.

    But it would be nice to have a free form build.

    There was some agreement with NCSoft when the changed the name or how it was displayed.. 
    It was in the first few months of the server starting.. They did engage into discussion with NCSoft.. 
    They never discussed fully what those discussion were.. But some stuff was mentioned. 
    Then came some name change of some sort. Maybe an admin or moderator might know. 

    But WTF this has to do with anything related to the post beats me. I am not the one who mentioned anything about the servers. 
    My post has nothing to do with this.

    There not rogue.. NCSoft gave them the okay with guidelines.. 

    I disagree with your comment about no value on doing work. But do not need to debate it.. Its a suggestions forum so both opinions are allowed an valid.

  9. I would like to see Power customization based around thematic settings.

    As an example 

    Energy Blast based around Magic customization.

    • Basic spell casting hand gestures,
    • powers emanating from a staff
    • powers emanating from a wand

    Energy Blast based around Technology customization. 

    • Nova using Omega Maneuver animation
    • Various blast coming from wrist cannons
    • shoulder mount cannons
    • chest cannons

    Assault Rifle could get the same treatment.

    • Full auto could be 2 uzi's fanning across the player.
    • Flamethrower could be wrist flamethrower as seen in various movies. 
    • Ignite could be grenade


    There are many student graduating from college or unique schools that  want to do animation and I would imagine would love to have something like this on their resume for their interviews with gaming companies. 

    You could probably get set up as a regular internship. I mean this is literally an amazing opportunity for anyone looking to do this work. 

     

    What this would also lend to is future animations for new power sets.. 

    Again referring back to the internship. 
    You could have several students make animation sets for magic against Energy Blast. Then pick 3 animations from one student out of the nine, pick 3 from another out of the nine, and finally pick another 3 out of the nine. This would leave you 6 animation from each student to either use on new powers sets OR added over time on new updates. 

    This way several students can say their animations were used in a publicly played game..  Again it gives them some resume clout.

    You didn't say you wanted smoke grenades in Plant Manipulation. You said you wanted device effects/animations for it. That means you want the set to be its own version of devices. And we already have a /Devices set for the AT. You want to play a character that uses devices and gadgets? Then use the power set built specifically to do so. That is why the power set exists.

     

    Then you haven't read my posts. I debate a lot of suggestions, yes. I also support suggestions.

     

    In that a super hero game should make sense and follow the aesthetics of the genre? Yes.

     

    I am allowed to agree with or disagree with any person or idea I wish. You are now crossing into personal attack territory.

    New animations are great! Especially for sets like Dual Pistols so the player can stop playing a circus trick shot performer acting as a hero or villain! Same with new weapon models.

     

    Congratulations. I've been playing that long too.

     

    Says who? I mix and match elements all the time. Whatever fits the character. Fire-wielding mutant? Maybe he or she backs up their mutations with gadgets. Fire/Devices. Or maybe I make an Energy/Atomic Manipulation character for a cosmic feel. Or an Assault Rifle/Darkness Manipulation for an outer realms hunter character. Or... pick something. You never have to go Dark/Dark, Fire/Fire, Assault Rifle/Devices, or whatever. You make the character concept. You find the powers that fit that concept. The power sets may not have the specific powers you want, but guess what? They do exist. And in the case of you wanting earth animations for Plant Manipulation? With the exception of two powers, just using a brown color on Plant Manipulation makes it look like the character throws some sand or dirt and the earth twists up a tendril of ground to seize the enemy. (I tried it. It works. There are just 2 powers in the set where the plant still obviously looks like plant.)

     

    Why would you think I was missing that? I'm all for new animations. As long as they don't have one power set step on an already existing one for what its theme is.

     

    Unless you want this argument to devolve again, we are not rehashing this.

    Sure, but Dual Pistols lets you shoot ice bullets, which can just as easily be freeze blasts. Where are you going with this?

    Nope. If you want devices, use the Devices power set. Don't make Plant Manipulation into Devices. New weapon models that fit into a given power set are always welcome. (Edit: Of course, if you want that pistol to shoot beams of energy rather than bullets, incendiary projectiles of some type, chilling projectiles of some type, or toxic/acidic projectiles of some type; then yeah, new power set please.) (Edit again: I take that back. Beams of energy would work just fine for the incendiary part of Dual Pistols.)

    No one said pant manipulation should be devices.. Where did I say I wanted smoke grenade in plant manipulation. Again you live in your own world and if something does fit in your world its bad or no good.  And I mean that in real life as well as in game.. 

    It is clear from other post on this forum, you are just looking to debate everything. 
    It is clear from your comments it has to fit some contrived notion that you have in your head on how a superhero game should be.. 
    that you responded to everything as you do shows there is something off with you.

    Yes actually. Pretty much all of my characters are played because I enjoy the animations or the power set fits the theme of the character. I don't actually know what power sets in any given AT are the best or the worst. I just know the ones I enjoy using on my characters and the ones that bore me to tears. (Edit: And for the ones that bore me to tears? I just need to find a concept that is fun to play. A few power sets I use on current characters are sets I was bored with until I found a character concept that was fun. So it is not the sets specifically that are boring, it was the concepts I tried.)

     

    People already do that. They don't need every theme animation for their one and only preferred power set per AT to do so. They can do what they already do. Say the power set is actually something else. (Edit: And if the power set does not look like they want for elemental or other theme? Then use the power set that has that theme. There is no need to min-max everything. Other power sets are just as fun when you find a good concept for them.)

     

    In this thread, the OP laments that Masterminds have not gotten the changes he wants. A Mastermind change that is frequently asked for is pet customizations. I would rather the devs spend their time fixing the game, making upgrades, making new content including power sets, and hopefully incorporating fixes and alterations players have been asking for. As opposed to wasting time making a means for a single power set to be everything.

     

    If they decide to do so? Whatever. It is a waste of time, but it is their time to waste duplicating themes on ATs that already exist.


    Sorry I missed the part where you decide what customizations I should or shouldn't have. 

    Devices is like plant Manipulation? 

    Again no its not.. Devices is Devices and Plant Manipulations is Plant Manipulation.. 

    Further you need to understand, you have an issue in the sense you take everything literal and twist sentences together I never said.
    You have to have some common sense in trying to create power customization themes for sets.. Not all will adapt well.  

    As I stated.. The OP  should resolve to the fact that Mastermind changes are difficult..  It is clear to me at least.. I have yet to see the Devs tackle anything major with Masterminds.. They REVERTED the PET AI.. They modified recharge and endurance cost on pets.. Nothing that has not been done with other power sets.. 

    See I think we have TONS of power sets already.. What we need is a new look to these powers.. I played this game since day one.. They are long in the tooth for someone like me.. 

    Further there are themes but you would have to go Dark / Dark.. Fire / Fire.. for example.. But not everyone likes go this route.. 

    But the point you are missing is creating new animations for existing powers creates a pool of animation for future NEW powers.. 
    Again as an example.. 

    They get a college intern.. He creates 12 animations for Energy Blast.. Only 6 are used.. 6 are now in reserve for a future set.. OR they keep it in reserve for future updates.. 

    If you read the post from the Devs on the walking animation as I mentioned you would understand they need the actual original animation to make changes.. If they don't have it, the cannot change it.. 

    No reason why my energy blast has to look like your energy blast just red.. 
    Again Dual Pistols is bullets. 
    Crey pistol temp.. 
    Munitions mastery cryo freeze ray.. 
    Both are not shooting bullets. 

    You can shoot an energy blast from your hands and eyes.. 

    But a player can't shoot an energy blast from a pistol? 
    I am forced to have a rifle to shoot a energy beam from ? 
    Laser guns just don't exist in this superhero world?

    Blasters have 14 Primary and 15 Secondary.. You have 210 options !..  That isn't enough for right now? 
    You want new when the old is still lacking..  How about you fix what you already have AND then move onto something new..  It just doesn't make sense.. I hate to say it but that is millennial mentality.. I want new all the time.. 

    So what you are  basically saying is creating drastically alternate animation to EXISTING sets is not good.. That it MUST BE for a NEW set.. 

    So if you want a laser PISTOL it has to come from a new set called Laser Pistol..

    What.. No I am not..  I am talking different NEW animations..  

    As an example.. There are no Mage theme animations.. There are no complete earth theme animations. There are no complete tech theme animations.. 

    As further example Dark/Devices build.. 

    Traps and some other power set beyond Assault Rifle.. 

    Demon summoning has good animations that can be borrowed. BUT from what I understand they need the ORIGINAL animation, they can't extrapolate parts from this formatted animation.  That was discussed in the update to the new running that is coming out. They pulled it from Utility Belt animation that they had sitting around. 

    Imagine Traps not being Tech, but being magical in nature or organic in nature..  

     Dual Pistols having a laser gun effect or animations. Now picking up the laser gun seems more thematic then picking up laser gun and seeing and hearing bullets. 

    Again there are college kids that would love to cut their teeth on something like this. Great resume builder for sure..

    I said this since day one they were in talks with them. 

    I am sure they said do this and show us something and we will consider having you run this live.. Maybe they have a new engine for it.. Something updated.. ETC.. I am sure the whole thing will be micro transactions as well. 

    I am sure they are looking at the overage they get as potential. 
    As I stated, I understand the number is 5k, but they are probably keeping track of how much is coming in after the 5k, they are just closing it down at 5k. But keep the window open to see how many donate during that window.  

    You want energy blast from devices, like a shoulder mount cannon.. Then its gonna cost you. 

    Again there really is no superhero game out here to still compete with COH lore..
