  1. I'd just like to pitch in on the other side, to say I'm glad it's at the P2W vendor for 1M. I'd still like to see a lower cooldown, but at least now I don't have to spend a few hours wandering around atlas over and over again to unlock it on all my alts. 1M seems appropriate for a power that is only accessible by you, and not by the rest of the team like TT and SG Portal are.
  2. This is appreciated, thank you. That's irrelevant: As I understand it, the dangerous part of the exploit is fixed, and would presumably remain fixed even if /ebfp hadn't been removed from general access.
  3. ....Unless I want to use Long Range Teleport on more than one toon, in which case it will take me 4 hours to unlock it on all of my 50 toons. I could either do it all in one monotonous chunk, or I could panic through it as fast as possible because I want to join a TF but I don't want to be the one stuck walking to the tram in between missions because I didn't bring enough fast travel powers to have them up on time because I can't be bothered to keep track of whether I have all 3-4 alternatives to LRT on all 50 toons. Let's point this in the other direction: If LRT was made less grindy, there is nothing stopping you from getting exploration badges anyways. As Jacke keeps pointing out, you do get merits for exploration badges! If you want to earn them, good for you. Making LRT more accessible wouldn't make your gameplay experience any worse, whereas your wanting to keep LRT locked behind exploration badges is actively making my experience more grindy. If they don't care what we think, why is there a feedback thread for us to provide feedback in? Maybe providing feedback won't help, but giving up preemptively definitely won't. Because 50 hours of AFK time is so much better than 4 hours of wandering a zone over and over again to get accolades on each alt? I don't think this is consistent with the changes made in this patch, considering: 1. Ouro is now accessible from level 1, which grants level 1 characters access to zones like Founder's Falls, which they certainly aren't equipped to handle. 2. Base hubs allow access to all zones, see point number 1. 3. This game has an entire system to allow low level characters to participate in higher level content, which is the sidekick/exemplar system. It doesn't make sense lock zones in LRT, especially considering points 1 and 2. 4. Why should you care if anyone wants to bring characters to zones they're not equipped to handle? Why is LRT the one that has a prerequisite to entry, when Ouro, Base Hubs, and the Tram all let players go wherever they want? Regardless, exploration badges as a prerequisite to unlock a zone via LRT isn't what I'm really concerned about, because (as you have pointed out) we can use LRT to access base hubs. (I do appreciate that). I just find it bizarre considering the points I just listed off. What frustrates me is the accolade to unlock the LRT in the first place (and the high cooldown). That has nothing to do with making sure characters can pass the minimum bar to handle a zone, it's just locking something convenient for everyone behind something inconvenient for many. If you want a barrier to entry, why can't you find something else? A level requirement, or as much as I hate to suggest it, an inf investment at the P2W vendor. It is a false equivalency. To use a hyperbolical example ("hyperbolical" looks weird... an exaggerated example), recreational marijuana use is illegal in many states. Murder also tends to be illegal in most places. Saying that wanting legal marijuana use is like wanting legal murder is not a productive argument. Similarly, saying that wanting something similar to /ebfp is like wanting access to /completemission is not a good comparison. Sorry for the long replies, more people respond in the time it takes me to respond to one thing and then I end up addressing as many as I can and then I end up with a great wall of text that feels more antagonistic than I would like.
  4. I agree. I'm losing interest in continuing the discussion because nobody on the other side seems willing to discuss it in good faith. Faultline drawing a false equivalency between /completemission and /ebfp is the biggest example, but many valid points have been disregarded with a simple "So you want everything given to you free then?", and it's frustrating that they're not willing to admit that other people's opinions are valid too. It makes sense to me that /ebfp is no longer available to players. What doesn't make sense to me is why LRT needs to be so inconvenient to unlock for people who have no interest in exploration badges, and why the cooldown can't be 1-4 minutes rather than 10. To compare it to a hypothetical situation, it's as if they made it a requirement for each hero to have an in-depth backstory in order to unlock fast-travel: People who were in the habit of doing that anyways don't see an issue with it, because they enjoy that sort of thing. People who aren't in the habit of that find it inconvenient, and go to the forums to complain, but are being drowned out by RPers who are being rewarded for something they already do. I have no problem with RPers, or people who want to collect exploration badges. What I don't like is being forced to play the game the same way as them just because they don't understand why I would want to play differently.
  5. I don't have an answer for you, because I disagree with your premise. First of, whether or not people enjoyed live without these QoL changes is irrelevant - there's all sorts of things that we have now that wouldn't have been acceptable on live, such as free XP boosters, free prestige powers, free respecs every 10 levels, etc. Everyone enjoyed Live, but I'm fairly certain that most people prefer the things HC changed (otherwise they'd be on a different server, right?). Second, if everything is supposed to have a cost associated with it, why did they make Ouro accessible from level 1? Why do we get free respecs? Why do we get effectively free XP boosters? Gating the LRT behind exploration badges and a high cooldown doesn't feel like it matches the rest of HC's tendency to make things less grindy. Why do so many people keep acting like the change to /ebfp and LRT makes it easier to get around than before? Previously, in order to do a fedex mission, I could hit the button to pop into my base, head to the appropriate zone, deliver the package, pop back into my base, and go back to whatever zone I was doing missions in. Now, I have to activate the LRT, but only if it goes to a zone I have an exploration badge in, and only if I'm on a toon that I've already taken the time to unlock it in. Then I deliver the package, and hope that one of my remaining teleport options can take me back to the zone I started in. And then if I need to teleport somewhere else, such as to join a PUG or TF, I have to hope my teleports have come off cooldown so I can join the group in a speedy manner. If I haven't unlocked the LRT or any of the day jobs, the team I join will have to wait for me to go unlock the teleporter, or wait for me to slowly make my way from zone to zone via flight etc. None of that was an issue with /ebfp. There were beneficial changes in this patch, yes. But most of those are irrelevant to this discussion because they aren't mutually exclusive with easier LRT access. There is the minor benefit of being able to go straight to a zone, instead of stopping by the base. But that only matters if you thought that extra stop was seriously inconvenient (which to be fair, I have a decent computer so the loading times didn't inconvenience me at all, and I see why others would disagree), or if the base wasn't the destination in the first place. This is an extremely unproductive argument. Why am I forced to "take it or leave it"? Why shouldn't I express my dissatisfaction with these changes? What makes your lack of discontent with these changes more valid than my frustration? How would it hurt your gameplay experience for me not to have to go get badges I have no interest in, just so I can move conveniently around the world?
  6. It is definitely a hassle. Just because you don't find it to be one doesn't mean everyone's experience matches yours - not everyone plays the way you do, after all. What are the downsides to making LRT more accessible by removing the prerequisite to unlock? Anyone who wants the exploration accolades is still welcome to go get them, but it would mean anyone who doesn't like being forced to wander around a zone getting badges again and again and again on each new toon would be able to do things they enjoy, instead.
  7. Why does the cooldown for Long Range Teleport need to be so high? A lot of the changes in this patch are great, such as the improved base teleportation network (base beacons in the shadow shard, woo!). However, I personally dislike the change to /ebfp. It was great both for easy travel to other zones, and easy access to the base. I can understand why the devs would want to restrict it a bit, but I think these changes swing way to far in the other direction: A 10 minute cooldown is way too high - why can't it be, for example, 2 minutes? Making the cooldown 10 minutes feels to me like the devs are saying "This is the right way to play". I don't play this game so I can spend my time traveling between zones, that isn't one of the things I enjoy. I understand that some people like that about the game (maybe for role-playing reasons, maybe for other reasons), but that doesn't invalidate my preference for avoiding that. I also think the LRT is too grindy to unlock, especially when you have large numbers of alts. Exploration badges aren't something I want to earn on all of my characters. I might go get accolades on some of my favorites, or once I hit 50, but it's not something I usually do. Again, forcing me to get an accolade and then exploration badges feels like the devs are saying "This is the right way to play". The point of the LRT should be to make travel convenient, not to make people jump through hoops to get places. Making the LRT account-wide would also be great, although I'm not sure how difficult that would be with the existing code base considering pretty much everything else is character-specific. I'm not sure why people argue against making it easier to get - there's nothing stopping them from getting the exploration badges anyways, it just means those of us who don't care about the exploration badges don't have to do them. I also think the SG teleporter in the P2W vendor should be cheaper. 10 mil is a lot of influence, especially to spend on an alt that I'm not even sure I'll keep. Why shouldn't it cost less? One of the great things about Homecoming is the large number of quality of life changes to make it less grindy and easier to fit into adult life - for example, the XP boosters, the /ah command, and auction buckets. Why the insistence on making travel harder to do?

  9. Bleh. I'm guessing the reason I didn't reproduce the problem on other browsers was because I wasn't signed in, then. Is there any way to turn this off? I'm looking in the notification settings menu and it looks like I already have "play a sound when I receive a notification" toggled off and "do not send me notifications" checked on top of that anyways. Thank you for letting me know why it's happening! Even if I don't find a solution that satisfies me, it's always good to know why.
  10. Hello! For some reason, any time I have the forum open in Firefox, it opens an audio stream that prevents my laptop from sleeping when I close the lid. I narrowed the problem down to forum - toggling various add-ons (and other tabs) did nothing, whereas the audio would disappear and reappear immediately upon closing and reopening the forum tab. Firefox was the only program open at the time. I am on Microsoft Windows 10 Education Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363. Firefox is version 71.0 (64-bit). The problem does not occur in Chrome, Edge, or a Firefox Private Window (incognito mode). This is an extremely inconvenient problem, I usually have a tab open with the Weekly Strike Targets open pinned.
  11. Lore! I'd like to have the story continued however the original devs planned it to be. I'd also like new powersets/animations added to the game.
  12. If a command in a bind file is followed by an empty line, and the file is loaded, an "error" is printed out in pink in the chat window. The two attached files were both created in Notepad in Windows. working-example.txt loads without outputting the error, bugged-example.txt loads with the error. Interestingly, the binds in bugged-example.txt still seem to work, which I tested by setting the "C" key to "nop" before loading bugged-example.txt. bugged-example.txt working-example.txt
  13. Hello! I have found that the game client crashes if you do the following: 1. Place the enhancement in the "Convert" window. 2. Open the Auction House 3. Click the enhancement to place it in the auction house followed immediately by 4. Click and hold the enhancement in your enhancement tray (before it moves to the auction house) to pick it up. (in other words, double click but do not release the second click) The game does not crash if you don't do step one. I have reliably reproduced this error using different enhancements.
